Before they opened up this property I had the privilege of helping to restore this cabin. This is such a neat place. Brian and Sally are such wonderful people and I am thankful I had the opportunity to meet them and help them. I also was able to drive Johnny's car to a repair shop. If you ever get the opportunity to tour this property you will be glad you did. One day these old places will be gone and with them, the stories. Thank you for this video.
I met Johnny once. I knew he was popular but I was only 7. Dad, the newsman/reporter, was invited on the bus and I followed. I sat at the table and June made me hot chocolate while dad did his interview for his radio show. Fast forward. 2010 my wife and I were at the “Rock and Roll” hall of fame. Only a short 13 hour drive from our home in Canada. On the walkway outside of the hall of fame was a black bus. It looked familiar for some odd reason. We paid the extra to tour inside and that’s when I realized I knew that space and the memory of being there came back. I talked to my dad about it (now 75) and he confirmed my memory. Too cool.
Rick Kentner Lucky Kid;; great memory for you as an adult & great story to tell your kids & grand kids. Raise them up teaching them them the history of great music of all genres & they will actually apreciate it. Mine did!!! May God Bless You & Yout Family & make many more great Memories. 😊
I was at the RRHoF when Johnny & June's tour bus was parked out front for tours but couldn't remember the year. I am sure it was not 2010 so the bus must have been there a second or 3rd time. In any case, it was a real thrill to walk thru the tour bus. Loved every single second of it! I think it should be a part of the Rock Hall's permanent collection but perhaps they move it around so others can enjoy it. Was happy to see your comments here. What a thrill for you to revisit the tour bus as an adult with fond memories. 🎸
R G Thank you, and your right, I was typing too fast. I’m getting old in the brain and still not sure of the year but I believe 2006 may be a closer guesstimate.
@@rickkentner1713 I know for sure that my bus visit was definately after 2010...maybe 2014....I'd have to do a bit if research since I went to Cleveland for a concert and then went to the Rock Hall the same weekend. So that means the tour bus has been there more than once. I'd love to go thru it again.
I got a love for Johnny's music growing up as my dad played his music all the time. I still remember the day when my dad told me that Johnny Cash was giving a performance at a nearby small town. My dad really wanted to go but he had to work. He owned his own company but had just started out so didn't have anyone to cover for him. Dad was really excited he was coming but really bummed he couldn't see him. I'm almost 60 now & my son who is 22 plays Johnny's music all the time. He was a good man who overcame his addictions & in doing so, he went on to bless so many with his music. And my dad now gets to hear Johnny sing in person in Heaven.
What a beautiful place. Please keep it open. For all of us. Johnny was defiant.. As many of us are. Please keep it open regardless of laws. I think he would recognize that as right...as many of us do. Thank you for keeping this part of history available for everyone! I truly respect your hard work ❤😌😌

I'm curious too, if anyone has ever seen or heard perhaps, Johnny's loving spirit visiting? Bless you Johnny for all your work and faith, and to those that keep the memories alive!
I met Johnny once at the airport in Anchorage Alaska. He asked me and my friend if we wanted to go fishing with him. Due to the fact I was with my friend to pick up her Mother I thought it would be rude to just take off and go fishing. I still kick myself in the butt over that decision. Would have loved to fish and play guitar with him. I'll never 4 get he introduced himself. "Hey, I'm Johnny Cash"!
I've seen Johnny 30 times and I've been to his home twice. I made a picture of Johnny Cash and myself... my wife and my oldest son (John Wesley). Although Johnny Cash is gone now.. I miss Johnny... He was like my oldest brother to me... I love Johnny!!! My name is Johnny Cee.
