  • All items used and the estimated cost are listed below and every step is time stamped for you to use as a guide. #HowToRoof
In this video, like our other videos, we are showing you step-by-step how to tackle a full roof repair project on your own without having to pay a roofing company and saving you hundreds of dollars. For this roof repair, an expected total cost from a reputable roofing company can cost anywhere from $700.00 and more. Here we will be removing asphalt shingles, the plywood decking below it and we will show you how to reinstall it.
This project is a roof leak that was caused by a defected plastic attic vent. We are also replacing a mushroom vent with a metal vent and we are also going to show you how to roof around this vent. It's a very detailed jam packed video and by far, the best roofing how-to video out there. Below you will find a list of the items and tools needed to complete this roof repair.
#AurumRoofing is available online at: aurumroofing.com/

I did this today. The installation was pretty easy thanks to this video! Thank You! The hardest part was taking the old shingles off. The shingles in your video seem to pull apart quite easy. Mine were bonded together. This made pushing it up and getting to the nails quite a pain. It was hard work but I managed to teach myself how to pry apart the shingles without tearing the shingles on the uphill side. A learning experience. I would like to see you do a video on how you separate welded/bonded shingles. Thanks!

LOVE this video. Looking forward to checking them all out! Not suggesting there is fault in the video when i say -> screws are great for plywood. Ive found better at correcting for uneven studs/ joists. Firms up entire roof, imo in a good way but i could see how maybe faint wiggle from nails was needed to not crack interor drywall. Also holds well to beeswax or tar, and easy to dip and zip. easy to push below surface and fill, and still easy to remove, vs covering nails.

Very well done video. Everything explained clearly. My go to video for most of my roof repairs. Thanks.

EXCELLENT VIDEO! More closeup shots, e.g., when cutting the shingles vertically, would be be great. Paint the metal parts of the vent (two coats top and bottom) before installation to prevent rust overtime. Need to tell the kind of utility knife used to cut the shingles, hooked (cutting top side of a shingle) or straight (cutting bottom side of a shingle) blade.
List all tools used at the beginning of the video, including what can kind roof caulk and roof adhesive used. And hold the camera still 🙂

Hey bro I’m a do it yourself kinda dude and rely on videos like yours to do things correctly. Can you do a video on patching a 2’ x 2’ hole on a low sloping roof from plywood to paper and what are suggested materials and how to properly place them thank you bro. Keep up the awesome videos
