Think this is the quickest you revealed the teardown in a long time. Glad to see it like this once again vs waiting week or more. I know you have so many other projects going on
its surpricing to see how much space that battery takes inside the body, but its good if they can fit as much bigger battery as possible to power that hulk
The backup power-on trick is a genius one. One+ is ahead of the game. The power button alone sees hundreds of use per day so it's fair to say it gets worn out quite fast.
@@jasonculver3516 the power button is also used to lock the screen and wake up the device so uses varies per owner. Business owners arent the only one who will own this tablet. there are people who would buy this for their kids to play with.
Jerry, the knife is incredible. Top notch quality. My benchmade has been beat! That’s saying something. Excellent quality and will be a tool I use all the time. Thank you for making a low cost, high quality product here in the USA!
@@inisipisTV Just cons. It's fully possible to make the battery removable without turning it into a fire hazard. This is not user-friendly and makes it more of a gamble when it needs replacing.
@@Tomazack So few people will replace the battery in the first place on an iPad copy its almost irrelevant. Sure I still support repair but its not like its not able to be repaired, its just slightly more difficult.
OMG...Jerry said "my second mistake". I don't think I have heard him ever say that. But even after cutting into the ribbon, he still managed to get the tablet working just fine. And I agree; Oneplus should bring back the red battery. This would be an awesome tablet if it had cellular access besides wi-fi. Excellent video. Thank you!

Seems very repairable👍🏽 I wish companies releasing tablets start inventing better ways to store the stylus. The recent Galaxy Tab's backside compartment is great. I toss that tablet/keyboard combo in my backpack with no worries of losing the stylus. Great review🤙🏽
Also, reducing the overall use of glue (this also applies to smartphones) would help a lot on repairability but might sacrifice in water/dust resistance.
@@SergioEduP I'm fine with that. I don't recall ever asking for water or dust resistance. I don't go dumping my phone in water. I've used phones without water resistance for years and had no issues. Forget all this glue, it isn't needed.
@JerryRigEverything you almost freaked me out on time 02:10 were Arnold Schwarzenegger says 'Bruce Willis will always be remembered....' but luckily after some searching Bruce is fine....thumbs up for that 👍
Considering how consistent you've been about not putting devices out of commission unnecessarily. One would think you'd ditch the razor by now for cutting adhesives and use a plastic card like most people 😂 Love your vids tho ❤
Hope you’re going to have a Sony Xperia 1 V teardown video. You have been stop hanging with the Sony since Xperia Pro but then the 1 III to the 1 V all have the optical zoom lens, just wanted to see how they are really designed ❤
Hey Jerry, It is quite interesting that we have been holding things together with screws for more than a century without any other technology taking its place. Do you recall the device that required you to open the most screws?
My favorite place to eat is not a restaurant. It's a vast field near my town where I go with my shawarma and enjoy the sunset with a beer. It's like having dinner with nature.
6:15, well, thus I'm blessed ;) I was not watching this video a whole time, as I was busy with my life, but sometimes gaze on my screen, and by small chance, I've landed on that moment exactly :D thx
I also cut power button ribben in my old OnePlus 6 when I tried to remove back glass xD fortunately replacing whole power button with ribben was pretty easy.
i like hummus restaurants. they're the best, simple healthy food. you know, just like oneplus used to be (OS wise) before they migrated to ColorOS on all their phones

interesting tear-down, thank you Zack! Well, since I am allergic to chicken, and even cross-contamination is very bad, I won't be able to join you at Chick Filet. I am more of an Arby's or Wendy's kind of guy. Appreciate that you are willing to do this so we are able to judge for ourselves what the quality of these electronics is like.
That jab at the OnePlus phone team right before the closing was beautiful. Love the cold yet compassionate advice 😂

"A banner-waving Bruce Banner like some kind of teardown Avenger" is such a hard line tbh
Can't wait to see Jerry junior do his first teardown 😂
by that time the iphone 420 will come fully sealed with glue

All tablets and iPads are mostly battery.
@@f.i.b3027 They are mostly... Big phones, bigger screen means a bigger battery.
surprising is how big that pcb is, they're essentially phones, 90% of the tablet could be battery if they used the same pcb as their phones.

Hey, semaji bro
The highly-adhered battery is still a huge concern when you need a replacement further down the line, but it seems solid otherwise.
Yes. There are pros and cons with everything. Being too stucked means more durability, less empty space, and less prone to being shaked off.
if u need to replace it anyways wouldnt care if u break the old one even more
@@inisipisTV Just cons. It's fully possible to make the battery removable without turning it into a fire hazard. This is not user-friendly and makes it more of a gamble when it needs replacing.

Hey Jerry, It is quite interesting that we have been holding things together with screws for more than a century without any other technology taking its place. Do you recall the device that required you to open the most screws?
There's a thing called a coconut opener, it's long flat and made of plastic. May be helpful at slicing these battery adhesives.

I think the green screws are zinc plated screws (galvanized) which gives them corrosion resistance
I prefer the yellow batteries myself. It is the One True Color, after all.
you should durability test the a34 and tear it down ive seen other vids tearing it down and theres a battery pulltab. worth checking it out😳
I am surprised screen survived
The best way to remove that battery is use a Molybdenum Wire, typically used to slice between OLED and Glass panel.
It's sure nice to see someone rip apart technology so I can just show this to my kids and they don't have to.
Kibandaski! Famous Kenyan hotels 🔥

The screws being color matched to the rest of the tablet is a very subtle but nifty touch. Even if as you say it'll probably go unseen by most.
