Just became a Patreon subscriber! Love your straight to the point presentation. Question. Is there an advantage to having the Subs elevated on stands/boxes?
Hey! That's very nice of you! Thank you for your kind contribution. I don't think there are sonic advantages to elevating the subs. In fact, when elevated off the ground, subs actually sound less powerful. I do that because I don't have space to place the cabinet otherwise. Now I have shifted things around a bit, I am placing my subs back on the floor.
Hey Peter, I was wondering if I got the 5s would it be best to have them on the side near the couch...or have them further away in the back away from the couch???
Thanks a lot for all your video, they are very helpful. 3 questions : 1- What are the best solutions to stream atmos music and atmos movie on a sonos arc system. 2- Is there a way to connect 2 sonos one sl to a sono arc+sub+2 five setup ? Is it worth it ? Is there an alternative to trueplay on an apple device ? I have a laptop and a Samsung s20 ultra phone.
You can only get Atmos onto the Sonia arc via a hdmi arc connection between your tv and the arc. You can’t add another Sonos one pair to the arc+sub+five setup anymore. And no you can’t trueplay with anything other than an apple device.
I have the Arc, Gen 3 Sub & 2 One SL´s setup for watching movies and listening to music. I was thinking of replacing the One SL´s with Fives, thinking I would get an even better music performance. What do you think?
Peter put me in the same situation. Will the five also give a better sound when you listen music on the Arc, like Apple Music or AirPlay from the phone?
@@norbertm1744 I upgraded to 5's for rears when Peter did his first video about them. You won't regret it. Music is 100x better but so are movies. Pull the trigger you wont regret it!
Hi. I have the Arc, Gen 2 sub and 2 Sonos one SL. If I wanted to upgrade would u recommend adding the second Gen 3 sub OR substituting the 2 one SL’s for play 5. Also, is adding the second sub a huge benefit or overkill. And as always, awesome videos. Thanks
Definitely spring for the second Sub. The incremental performance is a lot more than swapping the ones out for the fives. I am assuming Movies being the priority here. If you do a fair amount of music listening, you would then want to consider the Fives. In that way, you can use the fives to play full bandwidth surround when you are listening to music and that gives you the Five's richness when it comes to music.

Hello from London Peter, Great videos as always. Appreciate all your content. I noticed that in this video the Arc is below your ear level. Curious to know if the height channels were still effective in simulating the rain scene over head. Did it still seem like it was coming from over head and did you have to angle the rear of the Arc for this scenario?
I am usually a little further back which makes the difference in height less apparent. In any case, this particular room has a very high ceiling and it not particularly suitable for reflected Atmos effects. Thanks for your continued support!
It is the WeMax A300 UST projector but I wouldn't recommend this for the moment. There is a very obvious lag in the sound when it comes to streaming services when I am playing off either the Apple TV or Nvidia Shield 2019. But both streamers report Atmos.
Peter thank you so much for your videos, thanks to you I got a ecosystem sonos in my home, but now I am thinking to improve it, and I want to ask you if it worth if I have sonos arc+sonos sub+2 symfonisk lamp as sorround, and to change for 2 Sonos five instead of symfonisk. Thank you in advance
@@pclsanchezi there is a significant difference in sound. The fives fill the room 10x better. They bring the action to your seat. The 1sl are great, but they are not equals with the fives.

Would I get a better experience with 2 Sonos Five ? I use the system at a low volume and I want very detailed effects for both movies and music. Can you give me a recommendation ?? thanks
I am unsure about what you mean by detail. But if I were to make a guess and give you a line, I'd suggest that you try to increase the treble setting to say a +7 and bass to -3, but increase the bass response to a +4. Work around that range and see if that helps.

If you have the Arc and the sub and ones for surround, you are already in a very good place. And when you say $1700 for the sub and switching to the fives, it then dawned on me that maybe you should sell the idea as getting another stereo setup for $1700...

I pre-ordered the Arc before release and got it on day one and we love it. I knew that I would buy a Sub gen 3 eventually... But now I also want a second Sub gen 3 and two One SLs 😅 I do have two Sonos Play:5s... But, that would be overkill for us I think... 🤔😋
I think you’ll get a lot more performance increase out of the second sub than changing the surrounds out for the fives.
I bet this setup sounds amazing. But I don't think my wife's gonna let me spend another $1700 to add another sub and switch from ones to fives.
If you have the Arc and the sub and ones for surround, you are already in a very good place. And when you say $1700 for the sub and switching to the fives, it then dawned on me that maybe you should sell the idea as getting another stereo setup for $1700...
