Coming from the traditional avr route with my almost 15k Denon and KEF setup, to the I would say that for the price and simplicity to set up, it is a no brainer. Kids are happy, wife is happy, i am ecstatic. Was actually blown off by how a "soundbar" could sound so clear, detailed and accurate! Give it go and you will know..
Had the chance to hear this at my friend's place and WOW I was impressed! I just got mine this week and I agree with everything said in this review. Highly recommended 👍🏻
What's better than one of my favorite reviewers reviewing my favorite soundbar? Jimmy was the one who got me introduced to the Nakamichi brand with his review of the shockwafe back then. Just got myself another 12" subwoofer to expand the original dragon system. Let me just say, the best got even better! I thought my dragon has peaked but how wrong was I. With the 12" sub, bass is obviously stronger and gets much deeper. But hey, separation and Atmos seemed much more improved too!🤘
Being able to hear the talking in Interstellar is a huge positive. Honestly that all I needed to hear as that alone sold me as I know Christopher Nolen movies can be tough to hear vocally. I wonder how Tenet sounds.
Finally something different to a review. This video proves it: sometimes it isn’t just about sound, it’s about creating moments with people around you. Cheesy I know, Happy holidays y’all!
I would love for Santa to bring me a set. I had the pleasure of hearing one and it makes my little soundbar sound like a sprinkler compared to Niagara falls. Well congrats to those who own one. Come on Santa ive been nice, mostly. We can forget that one incident. Please santa
Awesome review, just made my order! Been eyeing the dragon for a while and considering the other options of samsung q990d and the sony bravia. But after reading/watching so many reviews, I get the sense that dragon is on a different level in terms of clarity and surround sound performance. Excited to test it out on my own!
Hi just subscribed. I watched your video of nakamichi dragon last night and found it very informative. I live in United Kingdom and will be buying this soundbar in March next year, which will compliment my 85 inch Samsung. If you happen to make a more in depth nakamichi dragon then that works be great. As this will be my first dolby atmos surround system. 👍👌
Does anybody remember the Nakamichi Dragon cassette decks? Them decks were legendary. I had one in the 90's and the recordings you could make with them identical to the source material you were using. And them decks were a favorite of deadheads that recorded the shows live to bootleg them. As far as this soundbar goes, I have heard it several times and was impressed for it being a soundbar. But... I do prefer the traditional speaker setup and separate av receiver. I do see where this makes more sense for certain living situations though.
Great review! But I need to inform you that behind your back, there was a ghost of a small boy appearing and disappearing. That house is haunted and you need to move.
How does that bass feel? When i move, im down sizing. I have a crazy home theater. Sony project, snell speaker, Bryston amps oppo blue ray. 8 theater seats. 100k easily invested. Need some to thump without breaking the bank Thanks
Love that it has 3 hdmi inputs, pretty rare for a soundbar! Can anyone else vouch for its performance for gameplay? I’ve heard it's amazing for movies and music, but I’m really looking for a sound system that’ll give me that "game-changing" experience. Any thoughts?
I thought it was fun. I'm one to normally play on my 24" gaming monitor with headset, but this is fun for casual as its one a larger display. In my opinion. But fun hearing everything around you
You can definitely get a 11.4.6 way cheaper then $30,000, don't know where you came up with that high number, my homeboy got a 11.4.6 and he didn't pay $30,000 for it, and it sounds awesome.
He may have one cheaper but not a 1 for 1 comparable to the quality. Have to compare with - 24Ch StormAudio Processor + 16Ch Marantz AMP 10 + 2Ch Marantz MM7025
@@jimmyispromo I tried to stop watching but I was laughing too hard. Keep telling yourself ( and your viwers ) that. Anyone who knows audio knows better. Watch some professional reviewers who tested this and hear their comments.
Wow, this soundbar looks massive! If the sound is like what was described, it’s totally worth the size and price. Thinking of pulling the trigger now that it is on Black Friday sale!
Very nice sound system! However, this is not ideal if you live in an apartment. My neighbors didn't give me great ratings when they could hear my sound system through the walls while they were trying to sleep.
There are other options that sound better and cost less from what other reviewers have told me, so just do more research before you blindly buy a dragon, it isn't the only big fish in the "soundbar" catagory.
No even spending a lot of money for av receivers and individual speakers is still the only way for a proper theater setup. Rest like these are for those who hardly understand anything about sound and much more.
Which is fine. It's good to have options and levels to everything. Everyone isn't an enthusiast or knowledgeable enough (or interested in being) to dial in separates. I simply don't appreciate when people who don't have that knowledge boast about out physics-ing a larger system that has more capability.
@@jimmyispromo Dont think.there is anything more than a good quality setup. @@jimmyispromo one issue is that the subs don't drop under 40hz - Nakamichi plays them very hot at 40hz to make believe there's bass. But the biggest issue is the crossover where part of the voice moves away from the soundbar to the subwoofer. You had them close together and that's almost required. If you place the subs on the side, the voice is split across the front and side and since the subs are not positional, it goes left and right. If you put the subs behind, it's even stranger 🙂
"Highest rated?" I've seen and read dozens of reviews and the Sonos Arc, Sony Quad, and Samsung Q990D are all better at SURROUND systems. They all offer a greater quality of Atmos immersion. Are you familiar with those systems? If so, do you agree?
Only Sony and Samsung but more Samsung familiar. I've heard those, but I think this takes the cake. For the value and what you get for some impressive sound, I like this Nakamichi. It's just pure clean, punchy sound with power behind it. Left, right and above is nice
Hey Jimmy, do a bit of research before posting a false channel number. The .4 is incorrect sir. This number is for the single-mono LFE channel, not the number of subwoofers you have in any system. This number stated by Dolby should always be .1 for the mono LFE channel. So the Dragon should state 11.1.6 w/4 subwoofers. The More You Know!

The soundbar should be at the edge of your tv stand to avoid diffraction, this will also help improve speech intelligibility.
