Excellent video! Good narration. Excellent coverage of this pickup. I've had an identical pickup (2014 Ford FX4, Super Crew cab, 5.0 Coyote, etc.) since 2019. At that time, I bought it with 40,000 miles. Now I'm up to 87,000 and had no major problems. The lock/unlock button on the driver side arm rest stopped working a couple of weeks ago. A mechanic told me that is a common malady. Most often, the switch box under the decorative cover is worn. A new switch box is not expensive, but he urged to check the fuse first. Check fuse No. 20, of 20 amps. This year and model brings high praise on the internet. Of the 12th generation F150s, it seems that model year 2014 is highly sought for its craftsmanship, quality and durability. Very much enjoyed your video. Thanks!
2014 5.0 3.55 gears, 157WB with 203k miles, have towed ALOT! I don't beat on it, but every once in a while I like to get after it, not often though. When it comes to towing I defenitely utilize the lower gears to get up to speed. So it's no stranger to having to actually work. Got the infamous rust on the cab corners, starter was changed under warranty, spark plugs changed cause dealers love taking your money for false diagnoses but nonetheless changed, tranny flushed. Have this fuze that has blown twice since Ive owned it, just keep extra around. Finally getting the infamous coolant tank hose leak. Oil changes every 7k. Due for new shocks and struts. Stereo is black and no longer works. AC ticks under a particular setting, but under another works perfectly fine. Overall been an excellent truck. I wanted reliable and cheap to fix even at the expense of not being as powerful as an ecoboost, and less expensive parts than that of a 3/4 ton. Bought in '17 with 59k miles. Put all terrains on it, but swapped to all seasons now that I'm not spending as much time off road. It's a dream going 75 down the interstate for 12 hour trips!
Bought a 2010 lariat with the MIGHTY 5.4 😂 put 40k miles on it in under less than a year, never skipped a beat. Love how it rides and the creature comforts. Plus this generations look so good with just a level and some meaty tires 🔥
I bought a 2013 lariat wit the 3.5 eco boost with a 162k back May 2023 and after a tune up and coolant hose replacement this my favorite truck I've owned. Had a 98 Silverado and 2013 Ram hemi and neither hold a candle to the F150.

But what a terrific truck Ford knocked it out of the park that time.

I am on my fourth set of tires and third set of front brakes. Fluid exchange is done every 50 k, plugs and belts replaced at 105k. I replaced coolant hoses at 150k and replaced the coolant reservoir hose at 175k. I average 19.2 mpg weekly in my 60 mile daily commute to work. Also, the headlamp assemblies need to be replaced.

i might have to sell my 2013 gmc sierra denali and get me one they're so roomy and most of the options work unlike the heated seats and cooled seats on my gmc sierra denali lol
My 18 F150 at 100K hard racing miles and just a couple bolt ons and tune and still pulls the same as 40K miles, it’s the maintenance like any other vehicle
A GEN3 will wear a GEN2 out with some good gas and a tune that's not trying to cater to 87 octane. The issue you're referring to is overblown. It's alway the negatives that make the press. Basically Ford spec'd the surface finish in the cylinders too rough, which can cause a poor seal between the rings and cylinders, and this allows for a place for oil to escape the rings on some engines. Many don't experience the issue. (Including myself) Some improve with more miles as the engine wears into itself. Some are really bad, and require an engine replacement. Some have even reported fixing the issue with things like 2-3 oil changes with a moly treatment. Luckily GEN3 F150 5L uses 9 quarts of oil, so starving it of oil isn't as easy as people make it out to be.
It sucks yk? I'm currently 16 and my parents said I could get any vehicle that is $4,500 or less and I really want a pickup truck as my first vehicle. Here's the thing, I can't find any pickup trucks that is less than 200,000 miles and that is 4500 or under. Like I found a 2012 Ford F150 XLT with 233,00 miles on it and it's really heckin' nice. No rust, very clean inside and out. And it's almost worth it. But another problem is that I love driving and I drive a lot so, idk if a vehicle with 200,000+ miles is a good idea or not. Almost impossible to find a good vehicle with low mileage and low cost.
It did have some rough shifting around 200k, but he got the transmission fluid changed at the dealer and did spark plugs himself. It seemed to have fixed the rough shifting. The rear heated seats don’t work anymore. The built in GPS stopped working. Other than that, it’s been good. Just follow the maintenance schedule and you should be good.
