Am I the only one that thinks a 2014 isnt old? Have a 2002 with well over 200k on it. Still runs like new, all Ive done is ball joints and some coils, nothing big really. I plan to drive it until it rusts through, which it has no rust we dont use salt here. Just got a good used 2019 xlt fx4 and Im pretty impressed so far. I dont see why it wouldnt last just as long as the old one, other than all the electronic shit nobody really needs. Im sure that will be most of the issues I will run into over the years. But mechanically I dont see any reason not to get 250k plus out of it easy.

These 2014 platinums are a sweet ride and holdup extremely well. This is my favorite looking truck and even with taking care of the truck but pulling stuff and using it like a truck should be used when using as a work truck it still in good shape if you keep up on oil changed you can get 400000 miles keep that oil changed and live your truck it will treat you right, that coyote motor is a beast.

My 2011 STX SCab 2wd 5.0 loves Shell 93 octane. It has 189,527 on the odo. I perform the oil change/tire rotation every 7k miles with Motorcraft 5W20 syn-blend and FL500S filter. I am on my fourth set of tires and third set of front brakes. Fluid exchange is done every 50 k, plugs and belts replaced at 105k. I replaced coolant hoses at 150k and replaced the coolant reservoir hose at 175k. I average 19.2 mpg weekly in my 60 mile daily commute to work. Also, the headlamp assemblies need to be replaced.

It sucks yk? I'm currently 16 and my parents said I could get any vehicle that is $4,500 or less and I really want a pickup truck as my first vehicle. Here's the thing, I can't find any pickup trucks that is less than 200,000 miles and that is 4500 or under. Like I found a 2012 Ford F150 XLT with 233,00 miles on it and it's really heckin' nice. No rust, very clean inside and out. And it's almost worth it. But another problem is that I love driving and I drive a lot so, idk if a vehicle with 200,000+ miles is a good idea or not. Almost impossible to find a good vehicle with low mileage and low cost.

Excellent video! Good narration. Excellent coverage of this pickup. I've had an identical pickup (2014 Ford FX4, Super Crew cab, 5.0 Coyote, etc.) since 2019. At that time, I bought it with 40,000 miles. Now I'm up to 87,000 and had no major problems. The lock/unlock button on the driver side arm rest stopped working a couple of weeks ago. A mechanic told me that is a common malady. Most often, the switch box under the decorative cover is worn. A new switch box is not expensive, but he urged to check the fuse first. Check fuse No. 20, of 20 amps. This year and model brings high praise on the internet. Of the 12th generation F150s, it seems that model year 2014 is highly sought for its craftsmanship, quality and durability. Very much enjoyed your video. Thanks!

Check the translines the paint. The plastic clips can break in the fluid will flow out of your transmission. So have the lines changed. But what a terrific truck Ford knocked it out of the park that time.

It did have some rough shifting around 200k, but he got the transmission fluid changed at the dealer and did spark plugs himself. It seemed to have fixed the rough shifting. The rear heated seats don’t work anymore. The built in GPS stopped working. Other than that, it’s been good. Just follow the maintenance schedule and you should be good.
