The platinum is actually the highest package you can get on a f-150 other than a limited so it is a higher trim level then a king ranch just comes down to your personal preference
I was able to buy a 2014 Ford F-150 Limited with the 22 inch Alloy Wheels and the features that this Truck offers are unbelievable to me! I just had the Timing Chain, Adjusters and Cam Sensors all changed out and the Top of the Engine Rebuild to last me a few more years of driving! ❤️
I have a 2014 full package Lariat aside from the tailgate step up and wood steering wheel I basically have all of the same features. The inside of my truck also looks the same
To fix my mistake the ford trim levels are xl , stx , fX4 , xlt , tremor , lariat , king ranch , platinum , limeted , raptor , shelby and the black widow trim .
I used to think the same but they’re great. Be religious with your oil changes, let your turbos cool down and they’ll last forever. 2 of my best friends are ford master techs, we all have 3.5 ecoboosts and they’re very reliable if you stay ahead of maintenance. The 2.7 is pretty trash but the 3.5 is perfect IMO. I’ve got 42k on my new one and my budies have 130k and 210k on theirs. No problems.
@ darkness moto I just bought a 2014 eco boost platinum. LOVE THE TRUCK. I’m only averaging 13.5 mpg. What’s normal? A young State Trooper owned. He never towed and he treated it with kid gloves. It was very well taken care of and has 68k miles. He changed the plugs at 45k miles.
@@mattgarr57 I just got mine a few months ago, 42k miles on it and I’ve added another 3k. So far I’ve been getting 17mpg if I’m cruising highway and 15mpg if I’m ripping around. Fuel makes a difference so I run 87 but I’m in CO so idk how the elevation might effect mileage. They’re great trucks and the 2014-2016 are arguably the best years for ecoboost. My two ford mechanic buddies recommend an oil catch can, not vital but it will extend the life of the engine. Glad you found a solid truck that was well maintained
@@RadTrav270 well it's true that it depends on your driving the only ways you would be getting below 16mpg is towing all the time or mash down on the gas all the time.

Oh nice. Thank you, I honestly didn't know this. I think the "King Ranch" name confused me tbh
Yeah right you forgot about other models like black widow and shelby etc
Actually it is the limited edition is the highest package . Not the platinum . Just a heads up .
Yes the platinuyis a sweet truck nicer than anything other than limited.
That changed to the lighter body 2015 supposed to be just as strong but your average mph ls like 15.5 average highway 21.5

My dad had a 2012 ford f150 lariat . It was pretty nice but he had to trade it in so now he has a 2019 ford f250 xlt
So the ford trim packages go xl , xlt , tremor , lariat , king ranch , platinum , limited , raptor also including the Shelby and black widow .
you missed one.... the STX
Oh and the FX4

I kinda want to get the ecoboost 3.5 but then again I don't trust factory turbos.
My last 2 vehicles have been Wcoboost and I've never had a problem. Even bought a 2014 with 140k milage and turbos are fine

I thought all platinums came with sunroof?
It has one. I just forgot to show it
No I happily don't have one on my platinum
You said this is 2014 Ford F-150 Platinum. Why the description said 2013?

13.5 mph is avg???? Yeah that's not correct at all for the 3.5 Ecoboost
Maybe not 13.5, but I have heard that people struggle to get the EPA rated MPG with the ecoboost V6 engines
@@dynamicdrives with the Gen1 3.5l eco boost I generally average 16.8mpg

No . The platinum is one step higher then the king ranch
