Nier is a rare example of an action game that can actually flaunt how good its writing is. It's like a basic law of video games that, unless it's a text adventure, making the player read white text on a black screen for half an hour is a no-no...but Yoko Taro flouts the rules as always, and he gets away with it because the written material is so gripping (thanks in no small part to a superb English translation). Even just the act of clicking through each paragraph pulls you into Kainé's story, rendered with real care and humanity. It's an audacious feat.
A very depressing back-story about discrimination, sexuality, and ultimately devastation. It's beautifully written and is one of the many reasons this game's story is outstanding.
Such disgusting people to torment her. Even worse that no one even tried to stop them, until her grandmother came. Kali was an amazing woman truly, foul mouthed and amazing
You know, I hope they make Kainé's own game. A story based on her past, and how she lost her grandmother, and the connection she had with Nier. I would totally have pre ordered the game for sure. And see her with better clothes, I mean.
both nier automata and gestalt/replicant had great moments of novel segments, Kaine's back story is heartbreaking and only proves more of Yoko taro writing ability, it's incredible
@BlandUserGsEf Well, in the back-story, it mentioned that this particular Shade had three legs, and unless I failed to count correctly, so does Hook. So, yeah, I think it was Hook. xD All evidence points to it. Point is, though, that Kaine will always be my absolutely favorite character in this game. I love her to freaking death, and this only reinforced how much I like her character.
Kaine wears like that so she gets more sun lights to her body. Not that she wants to. Maybe she does x-) But my point is she needs to expose her body so shade inside her doesn't take over her body.
For months i have not been reading, but Now im sitting here reading a 40 min long words, which was actually really interesting. They really you have more of these kinds of book, hack if they make a book or nier I'm going to so read this. If they added music while I'm reading the book, then wow I'll even pay 40 bucks for it -a-;;

Most likely, the recently announced NieR Reincarnation will focus on her past! Either way, its a new Yoko Taro game so I'm just extremely excited

I felt so bad for her while I was reading this. Kainé will always be a special character in my heart... A very special character.
That is my favorite part in the whole nier franchise.
