I use a few mods for Slay the Spire. All of them are Quality-of-Life improvements and do not have any effect on the gameplay. Here are all of the mods I have active:
Slay the Relics Exporter, used for the live stream: steamcommunity...
Relic Stats, to keep track of how many times the relic effects happened: steamcommunity...
UI Sliders, to reposition the Discard and Exhaust piles, so that they are not hidden behind the camera: steamcommunity...
Run History Plus, giving us more info in the Run Summary screen about the run: steamcommunity...
Map Marks, for path highlighting - here, typically, Green means an easy, intended path, and Orange or Red means a harder path that I might take if I get good rewards: github.com/cas...
Even though I do not use it, I recommend Minty Spire for people looking for various Quality-of-Life improvements: steamcommunity...
I'll always have a special place in my heart for Rampage, since it is what got me the Minimalist achievement.
Me too!
same here haha
Not that I take Rampage very often, but I never realized just how bad upgrading it is. Thanks for breaking it down like that!
I still don’t understand why the upgrade isn’t worth it. If you had your starting unupgraded ironclad deck + rampage, would you still upgrade the bash, instead of the rampage?
I’ve got 15 hundred hours in the game and I’m still learning new things from the mathematical perspective. I got all achievements on my PlayStation account. Some of them were mad hard too, lol
Bash+ >>>>>>>> rampage+
@@the_secret_111 Think about it this way:
On the first draw cycle your upgraded rampage will have done 0 extra damage whilst an upgraded strike has done +3.
The second cycle your rampage has done +3 extra damage whilst your strike has done +6.
The third time your rampage has done +9 extra damage and your strike +9.
And now on your fourth draw, rampage finally surpasses with +18 compared to strikes +12.
You had to play rampage 4 times to deal more damage than a strike upgrade. Upgrade the bash, it will make your rampage stronger and all of your other attacks too.
@@leifolsson7910how does headbutt change the maths
Crazy how that first elite took 2 hours and then he just died
lol
Baalor: We would not be able to play five cards in a single turn
Game: here is Seeing Red 😂
first time i saw rampage my monkey brain immediately tried to build a deck around it for several runs. i did regret it :(
ive tried to make rampage work too, it just seems like it has so much potential :(
@@cameronschyuder9034 ultimately it just scales worse than anything else in the game. If it doubled damage each time that could be good. As is it’s a cool concept that just makes me sad
I would’ve lost this run in early act 2, baalor really is insane
I actually got my very first "beat the game with 5 cards or fewer" with Rampage as my main attack card.
"Who would have thought I'd get such a silly combo?"
Well everyone who have watched your content. It doesnt get old though :P
Mini-challenge idea ! Get all 3 keys with all of the characters act 1 ( and beat the heart )
I don't think it's said enough: your dad jokes fill me with such unbridled joy. I can't help at the very least smiling, if not laughing aloud.
1:54:25 this is really insulting lol, what a good reaper combo
I see Limit Break + Reaper, I click.
Assuming the thumbnail was changed, this is now hilarious
@@whotheo4878 I saw double rampage, I clicked.
@@whotheo4878 well, that's unfortunate...
I once opened a run with feed, and later got singing bowl, then i ended up face tanking the heart with 198 max hp. Feed is such a fun card.
I saw a two hour run and frozen eye and thought for sure he took it lol
I wish rampage had something like claw where it buffed all copies of rampage, because as is just..man the card is tough to deal with
56:19 looooooool totally choked on my drink ahahaha
in the spear and shield fight, you play "feel no pain", but take 1 damage to pain. What gives? :P
pain/blue candle is loss of life not damage
Oh man. I would love to see Baalor play Civ 6
Really interesting breakdown of Rampage, thanks.
Rampage is not law sadly. Well done carrying it through this run.
Dubble RAMPAGE!
What kind of dog does the Ironclad have? A Pummelranian
memory card problems on the ps2 took me back what the heck
I know he's right about Rampage but I've had a lot of success with it. Several Heart kills actually, but obviously it's not a good idea especially on A20.
LETS GOOOO THE RAMPAGE RUN
I still love this format of intro. If I can critique it at all, I'd say to leave out the part where you mentioned the specific act, as the video length can give away the answer
I really like flaming breath plus both the gain x block add daze into draw and deal x damage add wound into deck. Add feed into that and it’s the farthest I’ve gotten at least 🤷🏾♂️
Love short intro recap, dunno why but I hope it stays.
2 hour long video holy
RAMPAGE GRAAAAAAGH!!!!!
Ive been having a hard time pushing past a18 myself personally..
Oh baby, a triple`s✈
Rampage would be an excellent Defect card. Claw would be better with Clad.
What makes rampage better on defect? Hologram?
Hologram and all for one would like to seriously disagree with you
"Did I get stuck in Act 2?"
No, im watching this on youtube. You only upload wins on youtube :P
Bot me trying to win on my phone at the same time and loosing to the first elite
i have never once had an issue with elites in act 1 on silent however i suck at laviathen on any character
Would Rampage be too strong if it worked like Claw (in that it increments all)?
I doubt it, its not free like claw and iron clad doesnt really have anything that can get them all back at once either. Its also uncommon so its harder to get copies of. I always thought it should scale with statuses in the deck or cards exhausted or something.
Baalar has mentioned previously that Rampage would be more pickable if it doubled the damage when you played it. It's just such a slow card that doesn't scale nearly quick enough
@@voncully what if both numbers scaled on strength? that could be hilarious
@@Waltztacular i like this idea, what would the upgrade do? bring the base from 8 up to 11? 6 damage in two plays seems reasonable
Baalor, I know you said that in order to make Rampage good, it would need to double it's damage each play. That aside, suppose you could only raise the flat numeric damage increase the card gets each time played. How high would this value have to be in order for the card to be worth it?
Tbh, maybe have the ramp up be like 3-4x better than claw. Since it costs energy and doesn't affect all othet of the same card. It would have to be on par with pressure points of all things.
@@art-cs6us seems reasonable. My intuition would be around 8-10, but it's just a wild guess from a not that good a player
if the card hit a number of times equal to how many times it's been played this combat it would have a place in strength decks
@@Saetanigerahonestly that fits the flavor of the card name better too
1:24:01 Blue Candle *and* Self-forming Clay.
How do you always have so many elites? I very rarely get a path with 3 elites, and have never seen a path with more than 3
Would rampage become good with something like hologram or would it always be a case of something else being better?
Claw's are probably better with hologram than rampage, 0 cost and scales all future claw not just the one you played.
And claw is a meme most of the time
Rampage is my favourite card
Is that an AI Baalor at the start?
I don’t get his Rampage upgrade comparison with normal strike. Can someone explain?
The card will outdamage the strike, but the rampage upgrade itself gives 0 dmg, 3 dmg, 6 dmg, etc. It takes 4 times playing it for the upgrade to be better than strike upgrade.
@@erblecdethis is a great comparison, thanks. I feel like I’ve upgraded rampage way too frequently in the past and now that clearly feels like a mistake. I always wanted to believe it could be a good card 🥲
It takes an Upgraded Rampage 4x uses in a single battle to have more **upgraded** damage than an Upgraded Strike✈
@@danielvutran that's not what he's saying. playing a rampage+ twice will outdamage a single strike. he's comparing the upgrade damage, i.e. how much extra damage you're getting in for your upgrade. when you upgrade the strike you're getting +3 damage every hit, when you upgrade the rampage you're getting +0, +3, +6, and finally on the 4th swing you'll get more damage out of the upgrade than if you had just upgraded the strike.
@@mrskibum885 Aw yeah, I should have clarified that I was also talking about the Upgraded Damage, not total damage, thanks i'll edit it xD
37:50 Why does the spike slime show "split" as an ability, but the acid slime doesn't? Obviously they both do it and complaining about it is needlessly particular - but that BOTHERS ME
Rampage is a weaker version of claw that doesn’t even ramp up each instance of the card.
i still think rampage just needs a like 2-4 base damage increase and strength to affect the scaling for it to become an exelent card
link it to me if you know a mod that does this
to me this makes sense because it basically becomes heavy blade ,and spire likes having two cards that are the same but different like second-wind & SEVER-SOUL or carve-reality & reach-heaven
How much better would rampage have to be to make it worth building your deck around at a20?
You’d need to upgrade the base damage as well. Base damage of 10 would do it, breaking the block threshold for a lot of enemies.
What if you didn't change anything except that after you play it, it goes to the draw pile not the discard pile?
Better up-front damage would probably be the simplest way. At 8 damage, it's not even competitive with Ironclad's own common pool attacks the first time it's played. Ten damage would make Rampage much more takeable, although it probably wouldn't be enough to make a Rampage build viable.
I think I'd prefer to leave Rampage as-is and replace Clash (which is mostly untakeable at or above A10 anyway) with a Hologram-alike. A 0-energy card that says "lose 1 health; add a card from your discard pile to the top of your draw pile", upgrading to "lose 1 health; add a card from your discard pile to your HAND." Maybe call the card "Muscle Memory." That would also help round out Ironclad's access to self-damage synergies, which are a little underpowered compared with other build choices.
@@Scarhwk I lile the idea of 'muscle memory'; scarificing hp for consistent card choice is fun
Juicy you say?
Aw man bloodborne is so much better than dark souls.. 30 fps caps are in all of the other aouls games too.
You dont necessarily have to be aggro in Bloodborne you need to be evasive.. no shield to hide behind. I know this video is a little old but if you ever decide to give it another go I hope you record it 🥺
People don’t seem to mind this robot voice…
Day 4 of asking for post run analysis, how long do you guys think this will take?
You should ask in twitch chat
I'm not sure if he ever will. There would be enough drop off after the heart kill that it may potentially hurt his metrics enough to hurt algorithm visibility, and TH-cam creators truly live and die by that.
I hope he does though, I'd love a breakdown
rampage is just worse claw, and claw is already kinda not very good. :(
Man I just don't like this character. He does not click with me. I either dominate on A20 or I die in the first act. Can't even reach the first boss. No in-between. I just don't like him. Even when I do win I'm not having fun. I'm like why would I waste my time playing this character when I have more fun with any other one.
Filtered by ironchad. The class with simplest mechanics
Is okay, the game gives us 4 characters so we can enjoy it whatever way we enjoy.
I feel the same about watcher. I either stomp and learn nothing besides stance dance go brrrrrrrrr, or i die in act 1 and learn nothing besides ooops my math was off by 2-3 hp and i get locked in wrath and eat *DAMAGE*
