An alternative way to get to Thonburi would be the Jomtien bus to the airport, and from there, the S1 bus to Khaosan Rd / Sanam Luang. From there it's just a short journey over the river to Thonburi railway station (ferry or taxi). And there's a minivan that goes directly to Kanchanaburi from 3rd Rd (just N of Pattaya Klang) - around 9.30am I think

@WalkAboutWayne Yes, the vans have been called coffins on wheels. Pretty difficult travelling around without using them though.

Google maps. It's the number app I have, without it, I can't travel.
Google maps tells you what trains and buses to catch.
I use grab for back up.

I’m so glad you did the Pattaya trip, you’ve changed my mind about going. I just got in to Ho Chin Minh city and this place is amazing, but overrun with western tourists

Did you book the hotel on booking or agoda? Love watching your blogs mate. I was in Thailand in January with the misses for 20 days and spent 10 nights in Bangkok in a hotel next to hua lampung. I like the super cheap hotels as it reminds me back in the day when I was travelling alone.

I know you like to keep your destinations secret, but you should have put something on the community. There is a bus terminal in Jomtien and the baht bus from 2nd road goes straight to the terminal, would have saved you carting your bags the rest of the way.
I'm also curious as to how you pick where you stay, your process, who you use, etc. When I"m in Bangkok, I tend to pick my place based on how close to public transport it is. I prefer the areas on the MRT, as you have quick link to Sukhumvit and then easy access to the BTS via Asok.
I'm not really sure you state on your vlogs, but I get you wanted to stay in Thon Buri, it's a really nice region of Bangkok, but how did you pick this place? There are some awesome hotels in the same area that are similarly priced. I know it's only for 1 night, and I'll be honest, I've been caught out myself on plenty of occasions, but was the hotel what you expected it to look like, etc. but loving the trip so far buddy.
It wouldn't be an adventure if I did that mate. The channel isn't about what others want me to do 🤣. This hotel was perfect for my location also, I can walk to where I need to go the next morning. You don't get much for around the 400 Baht mark. I had no problems with my Hotel, it's exactly what you get for the price. it was perfect for where I needed to be.

Wayne... The BTS is cheap and very eady to use. I mentioned earlier that I iwould like to tour the city on it and the MRT. Including the new incredible malls. Thanks.

If indeed Hua Hin is your destination you could have caught the cheap bus from Jomtien bus station which takes you the airport, find a cheap hotel locally there and then back to the airport for the bus to HH.

In Bangkok you have to use the overpasses. Sometimes a block or three walk to get to one but trying to cross Bangkok traffic traffic busy roads is never recommended.

Offer them a few extra baht and they will drop you at your destination. Those buses were 10 baht twenty years ago. At least that was what farang were expected to pay.

Crazy Farangs on a roundabout! Later in the day it would be too busy. Cheap and cheerful works well and the room looks comfortable for the night . Next time you go back to pattaya. The airport bus station is in Jomtien , plenty of rooms to rent aswell. Enjoy your time in BKK . It’s too hectic for me .

Couldn’t imagine why you chose a hotel so far from bus station until you hinted at a next destination. Guessing you will catch the train at Thonburi station to Kanchanaburi and the Bridge Over the River Kwai. Great choice, if so. Just went there 2 months ago. Well worth the trip combined with the cemetery and a ride on the Death Railway.

Wayne, in case you don't know, Visakha Bucha day is 23rd May this year and the annual walk up Doi Suthep is probably the 22nd May. You have to do that. Thousands of people and great atmosphere for the 10km evening walk

@@WalkAboutWayne I used to take the bus to visit the Royal Thai Airforce Museum near Don Mueang. Back then that was the only way to get there from north Bangkok (other than taxis) and it was something like 45 minutes to an hour in a bus without airconditioning. Only cost 7 baht though. These days there's the BTS extension, there's a station right outside the gates. You should visit, they've actually got a Spitfire that you can get close enough to fondle. I also sometimes took the bus to go play table tennis (near the big stadium close to Ramkhamkhaeng University). It was the bus or the water bus (which, these days, is a lot easier to get on and off - you used to have to step over the gunwales and risk falling into the canal). They'll soon open a new train line going that way, too (I think it's the Yellow Line). Can't wait for that - both the bus and the water bus are hell during rush hour.
Once you visit Pattaya you will always return..i love it when i need some debauchery theres nowhere better..but also couldn't live there its not healthy long term

My idea also. Never saw a bed bug, but from what i've read, its my worst nightmare. BUt also hear stories about bed bugs in super expensive luxurious hotels, so thats no guarantee. Im always cautious, never keep my opened suitcase on the floor.

That's definitely an old hotel room 😂. I stayed in a place in Jomtien for all of 1 hour 1 time. Got it for $12 Aussie dollars but learned my lesson 😂. Maybe I was just spoiled by some of the bargain hotels I got in 2022
It was definetly old, but a really cheap price. Good for 1 night.
