- Watch Hikaru Nakamura vs Magnus Carlsen at the 2024 Norway Chess, Round 7/ Armageddon style chess (White pieces have 10 minutes, Black pieces 7 minutes). Hikaru came extremely well prepared! He was blitzing out moves left and right! Crazy Queen blunder by both the GM's. You can tell how the game ends by Magnus reaction! Comment below and tell me about your thoughts on the game!

Magnus managed to still put a big fight even without his queen and in a losing position.. Thats the Goat
He was okay with losing the queen because he won a knight, a rook, and 2 bishops, which is enough material (14) to even out the game with only losing a pawn directly afterward, but later on with losing 2 pawns and a bishop total up to that point (-13) so by 13:40 Magnus was only down a pawn. It's still a material advantage for Hikaru, but I'm not sure if Magnus was concerned about the discovered check... based on his reaction, I think he knew it was coming, and he wanted to play with his two knights against Hikaru's two bishops.
What are you smoking??? He only lost the Queen for a rook and knight. Where are you getting two bishops? That would be a horribly imbalanced trade if Magnus also got 2 bishops. Stop spreading false information. You’re probably 800 ELO
@@John_NYT Okay smart guy, watch the game again... it's not immediate, but Magnus can see how the pieces will trade out over the course of the game. He does end up coming out okay, so by that same time stamp I gave, he was only down a pawn... Grand Master's are on a whole other level of chess, smart guy, and he had to have known how it would play out to the end game. Instead of trying to insult me and bring up elo like a clown, how about you realize that a rook and a knight is 8 points, and a queen is 9, therefore claiming "horribly imbalanced" is just not even true and a big exaggeration. I'm sure Magnus wasn't liking to lose his queen, but he also wasn't as concerned, which is what my original comment said... so, learn how to analyze a chess game and go take a hike.
@@jdrive03Yes, smart comment..,👍👍👍
@@jdrive03
No smart analyst:))
according to the engine analysis magnus was losing the game , BUT hikaro did blunder by Qb5 and Magnus quickly realized his mistake and returned to the game by Rock d5 ;)
thank you for hiring the deaf to commentate, we need complete silence sometimes
PLEASE can we have a zoom camera on the clock and put it as a mini screen high up on one or other side of the board?
That is a good idea
No
No to bad
Use your own ⏰😂 more interactive also 😜
It was even Stevens when Maggoat lost on time. 17:37 notice slide bar and Hikary pointing at the clock.
Hikaru had already memorized the different steps while Magnus was just thinking about the steps😂
For first time I can watch and understand a full chess game match. ❤
"Chess is the game for fidgeters... for 'toyers' and toddlers. And when they're not fiddling with their 'pieces' they're fiddling with their hair...." Paul Morphy
He never said that, nice try little kid. Keep playing with your hair.
it's such an stupid phrase btw, must be yours
Could you show the board bigger and the players smaller, thank you!
14:48 - at this point Magnus was threatening to either check, trade rooks and promote (which would have been really bad for Hikaru) so he was hoping if he lost his knight, Hikaru would have opened up the g file and doubled up pawns on f (Hikaru did not want to do that simply for material, for worse position for end game and Magnus knew that, taking advantage of the tension) - or - he could check the king with his knight and maybe win back a pawn if king stays on 1st rank... but if king moves up to 2nd rank, he loses time, and blocks his own attacking file of the rook. I think he wanted to get a rook on Hikaru's 2nd rank, attack backward pawns and be winning...
Hikaru's blunder lost his queen, but really, how else stop Magnus' attack? What would've been best move for Hikaru after Magnus pushes pawn?
The answer is Queen f7!
When Mag lost his Queen, he should have used his one and only take back move.
Watching Magnus battle it out without his queen while in a losing position is a testament to his greatness! Truly inspiring!
Hilary about to take magnuss last king side pawn and Magnus would not be able to defend against Hikarus pawn advances on both sides of the board. So magnus concedes
Hilary? hahaha
Nope he lost on time . Magnus has the advantage
Magnus left lawn hanging for king to grab at the end
The respect. Magnus always fighting for the win, but the Samurai with Qb3 was HUGE!
How do we know who won?
When the king is in check position and not have any legal move
Yes,look at the gesture of Magnus at the end,and he is at the end of the table😢
Magnus lost on time.
this position draw but Magnus Out of time
@@bad_boy080
7:35 why not by f8???
What an insightful game!
That blunder threw the whole game
perfection at end game.
I dont understand why Hikaru just didn't start trading pieces after he captured the queen. Eventually Magnus would've ran out of power pcs and its game over. And by trading he would've disrupted any offensive game plan Magnus was brewing up
What an insightful advice to 2800 rated world number 2 player
@@bibekbhattachan9006 Hikaru also could've taken his knight for free at a point in the game. I feel like these top guys over think themselves sometimes
it's not free, then queen will be in trap by bishop. becasue it is a pin and loses queen
@sbl9467 They see much deeper than you mate that's why...there are many levels to chess and these guys are right at the top, you will almost never understand there play.
Wow just had a look at what your talking about with the knight, you can't see Bc5 after that? 😅 pins the Queen.
@@dexio8601 if you play me and I take your queen early I'm gonna start trading pcs. Knight for a knight...bishop fir bishop...etc. I already have a huge advantage. You won't have any chance of winning cause you won't have any power pcs left. I know I'm not top level skills wise but sometimes you gotta start trading pcs: it'll hurt them more than you being that they already lost their Queen
hikaru won the game until he made big blunder with his queen then the game became draw but Magnus lost on the time so Hikaru won the game by time, he supposed to won the game by quality
Un français pour expliquer le coup final svp ? J'ai pas compris pourquoi il abandonne....
When Hikaru blundered what was his best move?
@ 15:38 Why didn't Hikaru kill the rook instead of the bishop? Help me understand this move.
Seems he did a really bad move there
He took the pawn becuase if hikaru takes rook , then knight will fork the queen by moving E2
Grandmasters find a ways to take all the bishop..
15:44 queen takes blundered rook ??
The eval bar didn’t move when Hikaru chose not to take. Likely would have been critical mistake. I’m not good enough to know what that mistake would have been but I’m sure it’s there.
Can someone explain to me why Hikaru didn’t take Magnus’ knight at 2:50? It was undefended, am I missing something?
If Hikaru takes, then Magnus has Bc5 and wins the Hikaru's queen as it's pinned to the king
@@M.J.I ah yes, realized that right after, thought I deleted the comment. Thank you anyway
@@TheBigJawn mm yea sure sure xd
Question: Why did Hikaru used his queen to take that pawn and then lost the queen completely. @15:31
Because he’s focusing on not losing the game if the rook goes e1, then knight goes h3, then rook goes d1. Terrible situation. Better to lose the queen.
I’m with you the situation was bad the he blundered he should hover too the rook game over he wins
Time up dude
Magnus lost his time
Time is a piece too !
Who will win?
15:33 why didn't Naka take the rook?
After taking rook then horse check king and queen at the same time
@@matyas67ohh thank you. Didn't see that 😂
Can someone help me to understand why at 15,42 Magnus moved the tower in D4 and Hikaru took the pawn instead of the tower?
If Hikaru took rookD4, Magnus rookE8 will check to E1 which will force white rook to capture the black rook on E1 and pawn on D2 will capture white rook and promote to queen.
Because if I took the rook I would fall into the mask, followed by chess with a jumper
I ode kraljica
And he remains without a queen
Why did hikaru not take rook with queen at 15:34 ? Can someone explain because there was no backup for that rook
Knight forks the queen and king
Who won? and why? where is the clock please?
The game was decided on time. Not sure why the comments about “legal moves”, which do not apply at the moment the game ended.
Who the heck set that camera up? 😅 level anybody?
Ba5
Tf4
Isn’t better?
Mental game when he knew the Tactics Magnus does with Drinking Water 😂
So he drinks first then busy talking to someone when Magnus drinking 😂
Nakamura should move queuen to C3 without taking pond
who won the game?
Hikaru the blunderest he just cant stand winning
Brilliant!
Looks like Magnus may have actually washed his hair for this match.
3:45 🙄🙄🙄 why didn't he take that knight
Then bishop to c5 wins the queen, and a queen is worth more than a knight.
Why was this Game over ?
Time
Who's win
Hikaru by time
süre bitmeseydi eğer, oyun berabere biterdi

🎉 Nakamura by time , last second Magnus 17:36 plays an iligal right move.
@@VibesAlwaysFlynaka won on time
@@VibesAlwaysFly Sorry, but I couldn't identify the illegal move. Which piece from where to where?
Hikaru play like he is scared
Purtroppo tempo scaduto, comunque Magnus è magico.
Magnus mengasihani 🤣
Magnus is mad 😂 I mean… ok he lost by time but, he could lose the queen and with a fucking pawn he came back (with a big mistake of Hikaru obviusly but..)
Well, he essentially had a rook and a knight to match Hikaru’s queen, so the piece advantage wasn’t as big as the positional one Hikaru had. I’m more impressed he fought back from that.
Secara keselurahan magnus bermain sangat baik
don't think so
Paul Morphy would beat both of them
This is greatest game in this century? Shut up dude😂.
josss
Who win and bcz there is no checkmate 🤔🤔
Hikaru bagus kadang Ding liren kalah waktu ke magnus Alireza juga berarti mereka pinter main waktu di catur ok bro

I just started watching these games and to me it's very confusing to watch with the vision board up and down. I wish it was left and right, white on the left black on the right instead of black on top and white on the bottom. It's probably just me. Also, losing on time? The video is 18 minutes I don't know about the time rules and I understand you don't want games going on forever but 30 minutes at the upper levels of tournaments doesn't seem ridiculous. A game of thought and strategy shouldn't be reduced to losing like this. 🫤
Who won ?
Hikaru by time
