    Just made a massive batch of chickpeas in my Instant Pot. This will keep us for a few days. Made your oil-free hummus and had veggies, potatoes and hummus for lunch. So yummy.

    Your bean smoothies are a game changer. I have to eat 1/2 cup of cooked mature soybeans a day(not edamame) to help control menopause hot flashes , I never enjoyed eating them till I turned them into a fruit smoothie/ ice cream after watching you. I like to add lemon juice to mine too for a fruity tang, and some fresh baby spinach too. Thank you for sharing your inventiveness

    Right now I've got half a can of black beans in my fridge. I actually meant to put them in my after work smoothie.
    That's ok. I'll put them in my dinner smoothie!! I rarely eat beans so I smoothie them.

    Loving the recipe videos! If I make this, I'll freeze the pears and bananas so it's thick enough to eat with a spoon like soft serve. That way I don't drink it too fast to realize when I'm full!

    How did I guess this would have chickpeas in it. Lol . Great thinking Ami. Made your oat and chickpea cake base today for the first time. Found a nice round oven/microwave dish in TK Max. I put soy yoghurt and a sliced banana on top (after cooking) and it filled me up before finishing it. Amazing.. had my veggies later as this time I made enough for 2 days….. Thanks Ami for getting me back on track….

    THIS looks DELICIOUS!!!!! I may be eating too many calories..... I'm writing down everything i eat...which is around 1000 calories on average. I'm tracking weight everyday. For the past 4 days, it's gone up...up...up... And I feel bloated. Maybe it's the beans, potatoes and rice? (I've only had 1/2 c. rice in past 10 days...i do more potatoes and beans). I am honoring my hunger cues too. I will stay consistent, however.... but I'm feeling frustrated, not gonna lie!!!!!!!!!!!

      Mate I think you’ll find u r not eating ENOUGH calories. When one is eating whole food vegan with no oil and little fats, u need to eat a LOT more food than u used to when eating processed foods and oils nuts etc.

    I've always soaked my beans overnight. How long do you cook your chickpeas in the IP without a soak?

    • @broccoli_mum
      @broccoli_mum  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      40mins and let it release naturally 😊 they always come out fab!

    • @KCallaAK
      @KCallaAK ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Here are some notes I have from Ami but I can't link it because I don't know where I found it.
      How to cook them:
      - Buy your chickpeas in bulk (I buy through SUMA in the UK)
      - Pour your chicks into the Instant Pot (soaked or unsoaked - either way works)
      - fill up enough water to cover your beans by at least 10cm
      - turn your Instant Pot on manual and cook for 40mins (if unsoaked) or 20mins (if soaked)
      - let it naturally release until the valve goes down
      - now rinse and drain your beans (save that aquafaba if you wanna make the BEST oil free hummus ever. Recipe over on my TH-cam)

    • @Elizerinc
      @Elizerinc ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KCallaAK Thank you, although I can only cook only my soaked chickpeas for 5mn in the IP or they turn out too soft. What is your experience?
