I just had to get on here to share how truly genuine and sweet this young lady is. I was struggling with the electric cart, to get into the grocery store, and this sweet gem took time from her schedule to assist me into the store. We chatted briefly and she is just as sweet in person as she is in her videos. What an absolute pleasure it was to meet her today. I’ve been following her for quite some time and will continue to do so. Keep up the great and amazing work that you are doing. You are truly an inspiration. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness. It meant so much to me today.
Thank you for sharing this!!
Where do cows, chickens and pigs get protein 😊 I wonder why ppl never ask themselves that question. Like where does your protein get its protein. Great video ❤
😂😂
From beans
Great point!
Yep. And how about the apes?!
They make it from grass .. nope they make it from amino acids absorbed into their intestines
This is literally a God sent! My midwife told me just 2 days ago that I need to get 80 grams of protein in one day in my second trimester & I was kinda freaking out on how I was gonna do this
TSmith you have a midwife? Reminds me of Romeo and Juliet where she sends the midwife on errands . Or are you an exotic princess ? 😊❤
Everyone needs to stop worrying about vegans and protein and shift to if they're getting enough fiber. Lack of fiber for most people is the real concern. My kids pediatrician asks at every visit about constipation bc it's such an issue for young kids right now.
This.
YES!
it's almost like we need balance.
Agreed with this statement. People are eating 120-200 grams of protein per day. There is no way a person in ancient times sustained themselves longterm eating that much protein. It's causing kidney damage longterm and alot of people brought into the marketing of protein shakes etc.
I'm not a vegan, but I eat a primarily plant based diet (FRUITS AND VEGETABLES) NOT A VEGAN DIET, and I only eat ABOUT 45 grams of protein per day.
Your body doesn't need alot of protein, but instead more fiber and phytonutrient dense foods.
I think it’s especially funny when people who eat meat and are not in a calorie deficit worry about their protein intake, they should worry about much more important things.
And regarding vegan diets, unless you’re in a calorie deficit, it should also not be a problem for most people who have balanced meals and don’t just consume candy or fries or something like that. If you workout a lot, especially if you want to build muscle, it might be a good idea to make sure you add some more protein, but most people don’t need to worry about protein.
Also, it’s ridiculous to make such a big deal about the diet of other people. If you’re not a vegan, why are you so “concerned” about vegan diets?
I’m so glad you’re back on TH-cam
Happy to be here 💗 Thank you for watching!
This. is really helpful! As a vegetarian who can't eat soya or lentils its great to see recipes that aren't all soya based :) I'll be trying those burgers and the salad
I’ve been following you from the beginning and I’m circling back as this is my second go around with veganism. Thanks to you and your great tips here and in your other videos, it’s actually sticking this time.
Also , your skin is AMAZING! You are a walking testament to veganism. You look amazing!!

YAY! honestly i’ve been realizing my protein powders have been doing my GI a whoooole hit to my stomach 😅 i’m just scared to let go of them but truly i enjoy eating protein sources from whole foods like beans, tofu, tempeh etc. recently bought soy curls and that’s been fun!!
Wow! So much protein without really thinking about it…that helps me to understand better. Thank you! Love it!
You look amazing in this video! So fresh and glowing ❤🎉
Perfect timing, thank you for this!!! 😅
Awesome! Enjoy 💗
I really liked this type of video it was something different compared to the others 💚
thank you for your valuable information. I will follow your suggestions because I really did not feel energized enough on my amateurish vegan staples❤❤❤
I imagine you got an impressive amount of fiber as well! I’m not vegan but I try to incorporate plant sources of protein frequently. I try to limit my saturated fat.
Every nationality has impressive easy to make vegan foods. What meals are you trying to make more vegan?
Just the right video at the right time.
Awesome!
It all looks delicious and nourishing.
Thank you very much! I enjoy getting your videos very much! So inspiring! Looking forward to your getting your next cookbook when it is ready!
Thank you! I cannot wait to share the new cookbook with you all 💗
Oouuu yes! I want to meal prep that salad.
Excellent video! You keep things so simple. I wish you could my nutritionist! In the meantime, I bought your book and downloaded your .pdf. Thanks again so much!
Yum 💜
Wow so amazi😂ng I met you on the vegan holistic holiday cruise and didn't realize I purchased your cookbook some time ago, and the cookbook is showcased on my kitchen counter!
Protein is in most things, but this is a great video for people who think they would be lacking in protein. Many people need to be careful of protein overload which can do damage to the body.
Also for the turmeric latte or beverage coconut milk is also a great alternative for the fats. The fats are good fats and can help with absorption of the turmeric along with the pepper.
Your videos are always enjoyable and I look forward to your content. 😊
Thank you! Dr. Greger recently talked about protein overload which is potentially very harmful when the protein comes from animal sources. I think he mentioned it wasn't harmful when coming from plants.
@@SweetPotatoSoul
Yes, the protein from plants is what the animal use, and that gets converted to animal proteins that people later eat, which is a secondary source and not as good as plant proteins. Most foods have proteins so people thinking they won’t get enough is just not so unless they don’t eat or only eat junk.
You are GLOWING!!!
You seemed to have read my mind. Great ideas. Inspiring 😅.
Every thing looks good..Thanks for sharing ❤
Thank u 🙏
I Purchased your book from Amazon it will be here on the 11th. Im excited ❤
Hope you enjoy!!
Thank you for inspiring me. I'm planning on going vegan, and I'm often scared that it'd be so much work and stress, but this video makes me feel calm about doing the transition.
Thank You
Cannot wait to try that burger recipe!!!!! Thank you for these, I can’t eat soy based food so these are awesome for me, so many recipes I find use tofu… ❤❤❤❤❤
Just found you; great video. I subscribed. Love what you had to say.
Thanks for the great info in this video. I'm a new subscriber. I also have type 2 diabetes and I'm trying to wean off of meat LOL. What recommendations do you have for getting more fiber in your diet as well?
Oh yeah, way more than adequate levels of protein! Love the creativity and variety of dishes you prepare! The sweet potato burgers look scrumptious.
Thank you so much!
Everything looks yummy, may I have the salad dressing recipe?
Thanks
On the kale? I honestly just did a squeeze of lemon and olive oil ☺️
My family and I LOOOOOVE this sweet potato burgers! And only I'm vegan here at home! 🥰
Sweet Potatoes give you Super Powers
become a Super Hero
For sure i love sweet potatoes. Have evet had sweet potato pudding a Jamaican & Caribbean dessert. NOT a pie.!!!😊❤🇯🇲
This channel will be saving not just animal lives but human lives 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I loved this video! Showing people that it is so simple to get what your body needs on a vegan lifestyle 💪 the #1 question I get being vegan of course is "where do you get your protein?"
2011 here too but decades older. 😂. Interested recently in adding more protein so happy TH-cam popped this video up ! Thanks!
Sorry I watched the full video and saw the pdf. 😂thanks for sharing ❤
I have to try the black eye pea salad, I have made the sweet potato black eye pea curry and it's delish. I also made the chick pea and sweet potato burgers this week. Another one of my favorites. Love the recipes. Thanks for sharing and helping us to eat and stay healthy😊. Greatly appreciated.
Thank you! I love my black eyed peas so much 😁
You're making me hungry. 🤤
I love how you talk about all this stuff. Simplification is KEY! 👊🏽
Great ideas and recipes 🥰 Thank you for sharing
You’re such a cool girl, helping people eat healthy and tasty, I’ve been vegan 10 years
Thank you!! Awesome, happy 10 years!
Oh thanks for saying that it can be easier to transition to a vegan diet if you are getting all your nutrients. Thank you so much for the protein rich meal ideas.
chickapea pasta, made from chickpeas, is 24 grams of protein A SERVING. i buy it at my costco . even 1/2 that serving is really filling .
We like that brand too, Banza. Though, I will admit, I usually use regular organic wheat pasta 😆
@@SweetPotatoSoulBarilla company is even better, no "gums" :) awesome video btw!
Great video!!! Keep them coming
Yes, I need to know how🧐
So happy to see a video like this that doesn't contain tofu because I'm allergic to soy
What other plant based do you recommend besides soy?
How do feel about oat milk with out any additives?
For the sweet potato patties, can I substitute the almonds for another nut?
How do i get your cookbook? I cant wait to try plant based...the right way. Thx
I really enjoyed this video, and it was very informative... You are to cute😍❤️
I would love if you share which brand of steel-cut oats have 10g of protein per half cup uncooked?
Great video, lots of people worry about this at the beginning or when considering to go vegan.
love it! came here looking to incorporate more plant based meals to my diet. question, is your daughter vegan as well?
Yes she is!
Food looks delicious! I had a conversation with friends who said a plant based diet is carb and fat heavy. I’m wondering if that’s true? And if that even matters? I don’t count my macros and just go by feel too
OMG - I've just found you! I'm loving it. And I wanted to see the recipe for your turmeric latte. The link was broken. :( Can you update the link? Super thankful to have found you!! Yum! - Update: Just went to your website to look for it myself and the link to the recipe there is actually the broken link... Looking forward to being able to find it soon! :).
Can I use regular potato instead of sweet?
What brand of oatmeal do you use?
Because the ones I tried, with half a cup I get 5g of protein, and not 10g.
Do you fast at all? Also, do you take supplements?
Where do you get the collagen?
What kind of soy milk do you use ? ❤
I'm so glad I watched this 😍📖🌹🌄💜
I want to eat this way, but my creatinine is running low, and I read red meat is the best way to increase creatinine, so I guess Ill have to take a supplement. Do you take supplements? thanks
You didn't mention the same as others' w transition folks may encounter gas bloating and recommendations deal w it?
You are so so gorgeous 😍😍😍
I appreciate the no protein powder in the title because a lot of that stuff seems so processed and I'm not into it!
Yep, not needed. I do like it if I'm super duper busy and not stopping to eat. BUT that is not a good way to live.
I was vegan 5 years ago. Before vegan, single unmarried I was lactose vegetarian and physically exercising since I was a child. Good lifestyle 👏 to both.
I’m struggling with my daily protein intake and I’m not an oats eater. Can you suggest another protein source for breakfast?
Tofu scramble, avocado hummus toast, mashed beans and potatoes, green smoothie with hemp seeds, etc.
I'm glad to see you back on you tube and I hope your family is doing well. Re: Protein when a woman reaches menopause age she needs 1g of Protein per body weight, this will ensure that the lean muscle mass is maintained specifically if she strength trains. Just a tip for the average menopausal woman.
Yes, things change when you're older. One size doesn't fit all.
I would try getting 1 g protein per kg optimal body weight xx
That is the great thing about being plant based...is that we get to snack all day. The foods we eat are so supportive to our Health.
I know! Perfect way of eating for someone who LOVES to eat!
I'm an omnivore, but I try to eat as many plant-based protein sources as possible. But to be honest, eating so many legumes has always been problematic for me (even when I was a vegetarian). I've gotten used to it and always plan to eat beans as a snack, but honestly I admire that it's so easy for you. I even find it hard to eat so many because they are so filling.
The less animal protein you eat, the lower disease risk you will have, and the better your gut microbiome will adjust to legumes/beans/lentils!
thank You Jesus for this info 🙌🏾
Amen, and Whole Food Plant Based is biblical! Daniel diet/fast :)
Can you freeze the burgers for large batch cooking?
Yes! They freeze great
How many servings does the Black Eyed Peas salad make? For those of us using dried beans, how many cups do we use to get 3 cups of cooked beans? I did not find that information on your webpage. Thanks.
Good question. It makes 4 servings. Updated the rest on the blog post. Thanks!
How long have you been vegan? And what would you say to women who stop being vegan because they didn’t feel right?
Because you have children to take care, and I'm single person with one cat have more time to detail my calories and nutrients. Have fun with family and children 💕
❤❤❤
Which soy milk do you like?✨
I like Trader Joes and West Life. Both have just soy beans and water. I also occasionally buy the fresh soy milk at a local International grocery store (Buford Highway Farmer's Market for those in ATL). You can find fresh soy milk at most Asian grocery stores too.
How many carbs in a day do you consume?
Who cares? Carbs don't make you fat. Fat makes you fat. Cut out oil and sugar, keep the carbs and see how quickly you lose weight.
I don't know!! A ton, I'm sure. Mostly complex carbs: whole grains, beans, and fruit.
Should try Indian Food, tons of vegan dishes and tons of turmeric in the food !
