The xf9005 65 inch is a beast t.v. great picture for a v.a led panel and Sony has the best picture processing in the business. 4k hdr looks eye popping.
Tony Zeno well...the Samsung. Go look at different review videos and come to a conclusion. Don't rely on one opinion. But to me, the Q80 is pretty fantastic for gaming.
Just ordered the 65" Sony X900F. Returning my 65" TCL 6-Series back to Amazon (they are processing my refund). The TCL 6 Series was ok but HDR/Dolby Vision was too dark. There was also a defect in the FALD. Had the Flashlight effect on every dark screen. My 55" TCL 6-Series is fine. It will stay in my bedroom.
Good choice. I have also returned my cheap Philips 65" TV and got 65X900F. Glad I decided the upgrade. X900F is way more beautiful. The major drawback of SONY LED TV is that 4 corners are slightly darker.
My X900F was cracked out the box from a 3rd party Amazon Seller. Had to wait a week for them to pick it up. Didn't want to press my luck with Amazon anymore. Went to Best Buy and got my dream TV. The 65" Samsung Q9FN (480 FALD Contrast Zones, 2,000 nits of brightness with HDR10+). Had 8 4K TVs and this one is the best. Four weeks and it is still going strong. Also got a Samsung M9500 4K Blu-ray Player which is getting the HDR10+ update. Got the 55" TCL 6 Series in by bedroom. My wife loves it so it's basically her TV. "All of the HDMI inputs will work with 4K and HDR devices, but for best results Sony recommends using input 2 or 3 (which have higher bandwidth than the others) with 4K Blu-ray players and making sure to engage "HDMI enhanced" mode. Unlike LG and Samsung TVs, the X900F will not detect and automatically change that setting for you, which is a shame." (straight from CNET). My 65" Samsung Q9FN has four HDCP 2.2 HDMI ports. All high bandwidth which detect and automatically change the setting for you.
Hao Lu Yeah my HDR10+ on my 65" Sansung Q9FN looked better than Dolby Vision on my 55" TCL 6 Series from the Sony x700. Now that is Weird. I guess it has to do with the High PQ in the Samsung Q9FN. 🤔
He's wright different companies use different methods, why is that so hard to believe, all these men are there to sell there product no matter the company. Why can't people accept that oled is not the greatest tv ever.

my 10 year old flat screen has 5 different pre-set picture settings, one for movie viewing (dark) one for sports (excessive bright) one called standard (almost as bright) and another two. the one i choose is called Preference. it allows me to customize the tint, amount of color and contrast and brightness. i turn down the contrast and color and make the tint less green to get what i call; STUDIO REFERENCE. i do this during live news broadcasts- to achieve what the station intends you to receive. its not perfect for example during a presidential speech all channels broadcast the same image, yet some are broadcast with better picture and sound- even though they are all 1080p hi def. but it becomes splitting hairs. in the industry you have to have selling features as mentioned in this vid; but can you discern the claims without really seeing them in your home? i really bought it because it uses one third the electricity my old tube TV used. now i never see any TV that claims you can customize the color, tint and contrast- it has become spec babylon.
The 49x800d is a IPS screen, 43x800d is VA. Unless watching from angles the VA is superior image but sucks at an angle. The 65x750D is a bigger version if the 49x800d tv and IPS screen. The 65x750d tv is 120hz and 43/49D TV's are 60hz. The smaller 700d TV's are 60hz. So get biggest tv you can afford. Late 2016 Sony TVs like the 750d, 800d are very close to their 800E TV's. The 750D, 800D series have triluminous displays and HDR the 700 series doesn't have triluminous displays I believe and are early 2016 TV's and have known issues with panels. Read reviews on best buy and sony website . I own Sony 49x800d tv and like it for $750 price I paid but is a rather dim tv compared to the newer 900e TV's. I read the 850e has quality issues with power supplies. Buy best you can afford man. Decide on VA or IPS panel screens too as that makes the biggest difference. Any kind of viewing at an angle in a large room get IPS screen. Bedroom get VA.
Karthik R why would u buy such an outdated tv? Get a tcl if you want a cheap TV. Just save up longer to get a better tv if you buy a cheap 4k you will regret it
What I really want to know is how they compare to the leading brands as far as picture quality and software, you don't hear much from Sony anymore and they seem to offer few tv's.
bcapers12 actually the X1 processor chip (only in the x900e) is very close to the X1 extreme. The only difference is one stage of upscaling compared to two (which sometimes makes no difference), plus slightly better super bit mapping for HDR but the x900e actually has better color gradients overall than even the x930e. So seems the better lag in 4K gaming plus more responsive OS is the only real world difference.

Can anyone help me please, with this information? Q1: Is there an internal TV player on the SONY X900F? I mean, can I play a 4K HDR (MKV x265 4K HDR) movie by connecting an external HDD to TV through the USB connector? Q2: Can I connect my PC to this TV trough HDMI and play a 4K HDR (MKV x265 4K HDR) movie ?
Claudiu Ionut Danet yes to both. You can either use the stock video app that will automatically come up when usb drive is inserted. Or you can add another app to play it like Kodi, plex, vlc, etc. If you want to do it through your pc install media player classic and enable mad vr. You will need to go through quite a few settings and lav filters but the picture is better than any other player, including Oppo. As you can customise every single part of the display to your liking.
Thank you for your answer! I have already installed on my PC, MPC-HC + MadVR, I use everyday to play movies and TV shows from my PC via the HDMI port. My current TV is just FullHD-SDR and I want to replace it with Sony XF90. I wanted to know for sure that if I replaced the TV, I will be able to play HDR movies from my PC via the HDMI port or an external HDD connected to the TV. Another question if you can help me: What about Dolby Vision? When the TV will receive the DV update, will I be able to play HDR DV movies from my PC to TV through the HDMI port? Or from external HDD? Who is need to do the decoding part: the TV or MPC-HC + MadVR?
Claudiu Ionut Danet right now there is no way to decode the metadata from Dolby Vision. As its so high even from a mkv bluray remux you still will only get HDR. Hopefully soon someone will make a codec to play it through a PC or usb. Only through apps like Amazon prime and Netflix plus a handful of 4K blurays on specialised player like the Oppo does DV work.
I hate when people talk video gaming on TV . That is not the main purpose . Tv is for viewing movies , watching sports , news , etc . Ok you can play games but all tv can . When you review OLED
