Heard a portion of it for the first time, when part of it was played on "Car Talk" on NPR and I hunted it down, I listened to it over and over. LOVE IT. The video made the song more impressive. And I now enjoy both Corb Lund and Hayes Carll's other songs. Loads of talent from these two.
Corb's albums keep getting stronger and stronger. This whole collection is a great listen.
my wife and I met corb in saskatoon at the last show he did when he had his other band the smalls, he hung out at the bar chatting with us before the show and I have to say he is one of the nicest people you'd ever hope to meet and that was the best concert we have ever been to, although the smalls are no more and the new music is quite different we still to this day enjoy corbs musical genious and always will
Saw Corb live in a small town in Sask when I was pipelining back in 2012ish. Not a huge fan of the genre, but I'll always have a soft spot for him and his. Love everything these boys put out. Came here for some good feels in this shit year of 2020. Love ya Corb. You're a good man.

I'm not a fan of country music generally, but this song appears to be a crossover, sort of in the way Patsy Cline appealed to more than just a country audience. I do love this song.

Lee W Great eye for detail! The cover band that plays the music I grew up loving and still do, but I grew up and recognize genius when I see it/hear it. Hayes is a genius writer. Corb is smart to hang with him. Genius song; entertaining video and, most importantly, it makes people think.
This song is so true my father drove across the US New York to California out West north to south with his black bible and gold lettering on the cover sitting on his dash and in his 80 yrs of driving any time he got pulled over for speeding or other traffic infractions officer see the Bible give him a verbal warning off he go.

This is great stuff. I grew up in Nashville, so you can trust my opinion.
Caught Hayes' set @ Whiskey Bravo and about fell in the floor laughing--it was even better in person!!! Funny intros to every song--really enjoyed the show.
I learned about these guys through a random comment section where people were saying that all modern country is crap. A lady posted a link to Corb Lund and it was settled. These guys are cool.

Matt Cook Aaron was making a joke. The character in the song used the Bible as a scapegoat to get out of trouble, so the joke is "it looks well used" because the character uses it so much for escaping trouble.
