i was at corbs concert once and when the breakdown happened i yelled out what kind of cows corb? the sound carried to the stage and he bust out laughing
Thats funny I just saw him last Saturday in Laramie and he asked everyone if they had questions and clearly not satisfied with our effort he asked guy on stage and he made him ask twice.
Just recently discovered this gem of a song. My parents always had cows around, Holsteins, with all the cow-centric 'issues' in the song. Corb Lund knows something about cows, alright! Wish my parents could have been around for the song, will from here on consider it Their Song! Brilliant!
I heard this song at a funeral the other day and could not stop laughing. When I was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma my dad was working for Senator Kerr and McGee on their Angus ranch in Perkins Oklahoma, It must be in my genes, I've been around cattle some way or another most of my life. I can just sit and watch cattle graze, I've been run over by a few in my lifetime, pulled a few calves , but I never get tired of cattle. I think Red Angus are probably my favorites right now, but Black Angus always seem to produce alot of calves and are good mothers. May you always have cows around.LOL
My "sister" helps with hay and other farming adventures, and I gave her an identical chore coat to my new one at the time that hangs on a hook next to the one I wear. Last year, we went to help a hay customer round up some spirited heifers to AI, and I was getting a halter on one of the biggest mutts of a cow you ever did see when I went down and got a little bit run over and dragged. I can tell which one is mine from the poop stain up the back. I wear it to the bank and funerals of neighbors and family gatherings and just about everywhere else, and she and my wife ask me if I'm ever going to wash it, and I'll make a crack about how I already did, standing out in the rain all day at auctions. I grew up getting picked on by town kids in school who never spent a January night sleeping with a sick calf so it wouldn't die alone, so to me, that shit is a badge of honor. May you always have cows around!
Corb, you are the BEST! Beautifullyrics written (surely, the lyrics come from experience...) and wonderfully orchestrated. the "Hurtin Alberton's" are the most prolific, authentic, and highly regarded rugged group of musicians!
I grew up helping on neighboring dairy farms we shared equipment with. Cows were some of the only babysitters I had when I was little. In my teenage years, the dairies all folded up as 40 cows on pipeline wasn't viable anymore, and we kept selling hay to hobby farmers, but I wasn't really around cows for ten or fifteen years. I'm 35 now and my mom didn't live to see it, but there are a few cows in the barn again, and as much as I didn't need one more set of chores to do every day, I hope there are always cows around.
I reckon that cows would make for better friends than many people, though I may be a bit biased. Both sets of my maternal great-grandparents were dairy farmers for years in SW Washington State, after immigrating to the US from Finland. I wish I could have known them when they were alive. Plus, my namesake maternal grandfather, being a lifelong horseman born in Wyoming, had cowboyed both up in Alberta and down in Argentina as a young man amongst other things, like being a guide at Yellowstone and a pickup man at various rodeos who personally knew Slim Pickens before he got out of riding broncs/clowning and into acting. My granddad's been gone for over 30 years now, but he certainly had a far more interesting life than me, and cows were certainly a recurring element in his experiences. 😂
And that’s the truth, love the words of this song they are informative and truthful and fit the music perfectly. Corb is a talented and imaginative musician hope he goes far. Thanks for the video!
Love these guys especially after the big mover truck got stuck in the mud yesterday and couldn't move because the Mazda was in the way and had a flat battery so I had to get the dodge pulled around to get the Mazda moved to get the mover truck unstuck.
This was made before the introduction of the newest Alberta breed- the Redford. Distinguishing characteristics- feeds entirely on public grass, and likes to fly alone.
Other pipeliner: hey do you like corn Lund? Me: I love the smalls. Also me, looks over “is that our foreman straight up chasing a cow?” Also me, of course I’ll go to the library in Fort St. John to watch this with you. But, we’re getting steak first.
corb is the real deal... he's rounded cattle horseback... he's hunted elk in the canyons of idaho on horseback (90 seconds of you time)... and he'd pick a horse over a tank if thrown into war (horse soldier)... i could go on... authentic cowboy that can sing... like ian tyson (ride on)
I enjoy eating them. Rib-eye, tenderloin, strip, hell I don't care. Just make sure it's medium rare and served with plenty of salt n pepper and a nice bottle of red. Moo.
I like this guy but, he's canadian. Real cowboys i wonder. I'm a Texan. My musician buddies here talk about how the canada government will pay a person to be an artist. Like a musician.
+Lucky - Once I was in Vancouver and these two cowboys I overheard were BSing these two girls . I'm thinking these guys are no real cowboys. When they left with the two girls they were the most bowlegged guys I had ever seen. Yep they got cowboys in Canada. Well that and The Calgary Stampede.

In Texas the entire crowd knows what to do. 😂
I screamed out what's your favorite race of pecker to suck on and he loved it and pointed to a Korean man in the 3rd row.
😂
On our way to his concert now!
I am a cattle rancher in Hutchinson, KS. This song gets down to all the details like Cord has spent years on a ranch.
So as I am in town tonight I get a call that the calves were out. I instantly thought of this song!
My 91 year old mom was singing this today, Corb! I told her to carry a happy tune in her heart and she did.

Not just a Cow song...But a Really good Cow Song...
10 years ago! Love it!
I didn't think it was possible to like this song any more than I did until I ran across this version. An instant favorite!

Corb Lund sings songs about the Alberta rancher and farmer. He exemplifies Alberta.
Because that is where they are from. Excellent band!

Anyone who has ever grown beef, they understand, and love this song.
Anyone who has ever been around rescue farms understands and loves this song.

I got to be a beef farmer for one year exactly and it was the best year of my life. This song is beautifully accurate.
arguably my favourite song of all times. well done gents
Even though I know it's a terrible idea this song makes me want to sell all my stuff and buy a bunch of cows.

As a friend of mine said, many years ago, "You don't need to own a sailboat - just have friends that do"...
You wont be disappointed!
same

Superb version and love the location
And that’s the truth, love the words of this song they are informative and truthful and fit the music perfectly. Corb is a talented and imaginative musician hope he goes far. Thanks for the video!
Love the song, a go-to for me. Just carried a load of calves to the sale barn today. Tell ya what, though - I wish I had that truck!
I am not a huge fan of any country other than Corb Lund. Singing along with him is incredibly enjoyable.
Love this song, and love having cows around! I'm surprised he can't moo better though.
He did it much better in the studio cut.
This song makes me so happy

Love these guys especially after the big mover truck got stuck in the mud yesterday and couldn't move because the Mazda was in the way and had a flat battery so I had to get the dodge pulled around to get the Mazda moved to get the mover truck unstuck.

It's all good. Real good

This was made before the introduction of the newest Alberta breed- the Redford. Distinguishing characteristics- feeds entirely on public grass, and likes to fly alone.

Other pipeliner: hey do you like corn Lund?
Me: I love the smalls.
Also me, looks over “is that our foreman straight up chasing a cow?”
Also me, of course I’ll go to the library in Fort St. John to watch this with you.
But, we’re getting steak first.
Does anyone else listen to the list of breeds thinking "I want one of those and one of those and one of those?"
watusi :P
Shorthorn..... without them, there wouldn't be Santa Gertrudis, Beefmasters, Barzona, Bonsmara, Droughtmasters, Adaptaurs, Luing, or Maine-Anjou......
corb is the real deal... he's rounded cattle horseback... he's hunted elk in the canyons of idaho on horseback (90 seconds of you time)... and he'd pick a horse over a tank if thrown into war (horse soldier)... i could go on... authentic cowboy that can sing... like ian tyson (ride on)
meant 'i want to be in the cavalry' over 'horse soldier'... who has 2 songs like these? might have to put william tell and townes van zandt together
And not a single cow around! Took me a while to notice, watched this many times.
Bogdan Spineanu the landowners are nice enough to move them off the pasture during the Fest for safety reasons!
Almost didn’t recognize Corb with that beard !!!
Highland are fun
Tension between a man and his wife. Amen!
I like Corb with the beard, although he reminds of a bit of Garret Dillahunt.
I think that isohe of the best Corb Lund songs
Is one
I enjoy eating them. Rib-eye, tenderloin, strip, hell I don't care. Just make sure it's medium rare and served with plenty of salt n pepper and a nice bottle of red. Moo.
We have galloway!
EXCELLENT BALLAD DESCRIBING A RANCHERS LIFE! VERY ACCURATE ARTISTIC RENDITION OF A RANCHERS LIFE!
Piss poor cattle sounds at the end Corb. Love everything you do pal
How much for that old pick up?
What else will take a run at you in a fit of bovine rage?
...
Looks like they need a few more with all that grass.
there's 11 angry goat herders.
Thirteen angry shepherds.
35 Eco Warriors
where are the cows?
Jon Brustad the landowners who let us hold the festival on their land are nice enough to move them off for the comfort and safety of both species.
Around. 🐄
et celle la pourquoi elle est bonne
c'est plus du Jazz mais du bon Jazz
Is that Wheeler Walker JR singing😂🤘🏽
#CowsAround #CorbLund
Love this but it would work a lot better if there were actually some cows around.
Alot of field pies & methane gas where there's cows around.
How about a version in Hindi? You’ve got a receptive market of 1.4 billion.
Anyone know what type of truck....Studebaker? Music was great but couldn't take my eyes off the truck!
1937 Ford.
Great video, but there weren’t any cows around.
Um. . . Wheeler Walker Jr. ?
Love hate relationship with cows, but it's starting to turn more into a hatred than a love (aside from Betsy and Annie, they good cows)
This is camp
Bet shes the old place
You forgot black baldies, as stupid as Herefords and flighty as Angus. I hated this song. At first. But I got it after a while. A long while. LOL
he's canadian
Late to the party, better n never
What kind of music is this ? Folk , folk rock or simply a new genre.....cow music??
Cord Lund playing the part of Zach Galifianakis
ya know, the girl who asks about the kind of cows sounds an awful lot like the girl that asks for the grizzly song.
AOC hates this song
That cocaine infused Louisiana sound is all to common in Texas, sorry it's a fail I'll pass.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 white shirt guy , wtf
I like this guy but, he's canadian. Real cowboys i wonder. I'm a Texan. My musician buddies here talk about how the canada government will pay a person to be an artist. Like a musician.
+Lucky - They help get your feet off the ground, not easy to get started as a Canadian musician when our media is so American!
+Sean Jackins best comment I have read today. that was funny
+Lucky - Are you seriously wondering if there are real cowboys in Alberta? That's ridiculous, man.
Not just cowboys, Lucky, winter fucking cowboys.
+Lucky - Once I was in Vancouver and these two cowboys I overheard were BSing these two girls . I'm thinking these guys are no real cowboys. When they left with the two girls they were the most bowlegged guys I had ever seen. Yep they got cowboys in Canada. Well that and The Calgary Stampede.
i meant 'i want to be in the cavalry' over 'horse soldier'... who writes this?... william tell and townes van zandt thrown in a blender?🫨🤟🤠✌️
Love this song.
