The base model iPhones this year are far more capable and feature rich than previous years and spec wise are closer to the pro models than ever and for the majority of people this is the one to get, especially in teal. Believe it or not there are people who simply don't care about 60 Hz.

I don’t really care about 120hz I have a 14pro for work and 16 for personal and I honestly don’t see much of a difference not enough for me to pay £200 more for it
Steve Jobs would've hated the new buttons. He was all about simplicity and elegance. He *removed* buttons, not *added* them. I hate these buttons for the same reason. I have absolutely no use for these buttons. The Camera Control button is particularly problematic. It's totally superfluous and unnecessary. It's terribly fiddly and awkward to use. And the greatest sin? It actually *slows* down the picture-taking process. Get rid of this piece o' crap.
I have a 12 also! I plan on getting the 16 pro max early next year (maybe when intelligence is released, hopefully with new colors) so that it's more future proof and I can wait a few more generations. I don't need a new phone every year. And now especially with the battery replacement option, my new phone can last even longer.
Watching this on my iPhone 13 (256gb) baseline blue variant. Got no plans in upgrading yet. Bought this iPhone in March of 2022 and I'm planning to keep it for the next 3-5 more years before upgrading to a pro max iPhone in the future. Battery replacements are not that expensive either. Especially when it drops to 80% battery health. Hoping to buy the iPhone 16 pro max after it's release but taking into few considerations with the latest features? I'll pass.
upgraded from a green galaxy a54 to an ultramarine iphone 16 plus because the s24 plus felt like the same phone just faster, and every pro phone looks boring as hell, I like fun looking phones 😊 lol, I also hadn’t used ios since my old iphone 7. Coming from a 120hz mid range phone yes the a54 is snappier but the 16 plus feels a lot smoother 60hz is fine really lol
@@Tdr-jv2nc well actually to reduce eye strain you would move to a higher refresh rate. Also could be cause I was use to 120 so the 60 hz looks like it was flickering a lot. Also what’s strange is you probably have no idea what the fuck you are talking about like me. Soo I think I’m the right one out of this but that’s cause I’m a women and I’m always right.
I believe apple doesn’t sale these iPhones so that you can buy them year by year I believe the reason why they do minimal changes every year so that maybe people who are 3 generations or older behind on their phone can upgrade 3 gen up or more and you reap the benefits of all the advances on the tec. And yes they do have a trade in deal but those are for the carriers and people who just want to keep up with the hype 😅
In singapore, apple produces are expensive. It only gets affordable after 2 years. 2nd hand. As my wife n me gets samsung filp. Worth the money on innovation.

The iPhone 16 is just another incremental generation. If you have a 13, 14, or 15, you have no compelling reason to upgrade.

I upgraded from the iPhone XS and it was definitely worth it, but if your coming from a newer phone, there’s not a reason to upgrade
I tried so hard to go with the base models. I used the 16 plus for 2 weeks but the 60hz was giving me headaches. So I returned it and went with a pro.
That’s strange as the higher refresh rate is the thing that causes eye strain so pro phones in theory will cause even more of a headache 😂

Rumors say that 17's will have 120hz so hopefully it's true but it's hard to believe because pro sales would be way lower if they did do that.
