    been a Hanoi Rocks, Michael Monroe fan since the early 80's, very underrated 🤘

    Well Hanoi Rocks guitarist Andy Mccoy was 15 years old when he made this song.. so yes, making love in that age could be a bit of tragedy.

    My favorite band. You should react to Don’t you ever leave me, Million miles away, Malibu Beach Nightmare, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Back to Mystery City. Yaffa, Monroe and Mccoy has solo stuff and I like their solo stuff too.

    Bangkok Shocks Saigon Shakes is my deserted island album. There are so many facets to Hanoi that people don't understand. Which I love. You either get it. Or you don't.

    They have nothing to do with seventies glam rock. Rather seventies punk. Their visual style was inspired by the Stones and the NYD.

    Hanoi NEVER toured with Motley Crue. Hanoi was stuck in LA because Micheal Monroe hurt his foot, they knew each other for like a week.

    I'm really bad with labels but I always thought that Hanoi Rocks are more like glam punk. I listen to a lot of metal, but I always liked Michael Monroe and Hanoi Rocks.
    This isn't really my favorite song by them and you really should check them out live.
    Hanoi Rocks was a great influence of Guns n Roses and a bunch of other bands. There's a fun video of Death Jail or Rock and Roll featuring Axl Rose.

    You need to check out more of their music, this was more in the vain of New York Dolls because in 1981 they had only just got into America after being in the UK for a few years. So as such they were still finding their feet so to speak and gain an American audience.

    Hanoi rocks were a big inspiration for mötley crue. And singer michael monroe were a big inspiration for axl rose, so much that many of the moves he has is straight from michael. Great band

    • @CrueHead18
      @CrueHead18 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have to disagree. Motley came out with too fast for love end of 81. They had their own sound. No Hanoi sound on that album. I like Hanoi by the way.

    • @mrsoikawa
      @mrsoikawa ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CrueHead18 completely agree, I love both, but so many people repeat this complete BS about MC copying Hanoi which shows they have no idea what on earth they are talking about and are just repeating crap they have heard somewhere else. The 2 bands existed virtually simultaneously but if anything MC earlier than Hanoi.

      Not every song we react to is strictly heavy metal. We listen to a variety of types of hard rock. Sorry for the confusion.

    • @kikiki4592
      @kikiki4592 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@heavymetal101reviews5 I may have confused you also, lol. I wasnt bothered or anything, I love Hanoi, just over the years find it funny so many want to associate them with metal due to their look, the accident and their influence on hair metal, yet at their heart, they were a punk band, only their final record before Razzle was killed, was more on the glammy rock side, the rest was more Gen X (Billy Idol) meets the Damned.
      Cheers.

    Expecting sense out of pop rock lyrics is truly a lamentable liability. I recall Mick Jagger stating in response to a query about his lyrics that they all were just gobbly goop and you probably shouldn't write too much into them...It seemed that Chris was late for the door the entire time the song played and maybe should've been excused to go listen to Rush or Tool, and Dustin, you were seemingly desperately looking for meaning in a pop song...just saying maybe not something to labor over when you're basically just listening to dance music with attitude...

  • @GEN-X-

    The only tragedy is that they quit when they lost razzle and none of them did anything good after that. I wasn't a hanoi rocks fan but to quit on the edge of super stardom is just Rediculious. Yes, a terrible thing happened but pick yourselves up and carry on. Razzle wasn't some insane irreplaceable drummer. Just my opinion though
