The song "Murheellisten laulujen maa" released in 1982 was meant to be a satire of Finnish mournful songs, but this being Finland, it became a hit that is played every time when Finns get together drinking (they usually understand the satire) and sometimes even sober. It is one of those songs that touch the Finnish soul deeply, talking about the society these dark drinking characters make.
The parents of Martti and Mikko were both Finnish authors, their father wrote novels and their mother was a well-known children's poet so Martti knows his rhymes. My fave of his lyrics is Rannalla vihreän joen (On the banks of the green river).
Baarikärpänen is an iconic drinking song - you can't fo much more finnish than this. Well, maybe "Särkynytsydämiset" By Freud, Marx, Engels@Jung. It's not their biggest hit but everyone knows it still
One of the staple bands in Finland. They always have awesome lyrics, poetry like you said, and the basic Finnish attitude. Very good common language, articulation and music for learning Finnish language and maybe also the culture 😉 Btw, your pronunciation in Finnish is sooooo good already!
Pure classic! Murheellisten laulujen maa-song shows the other side of the drinking songs. Have to listen!
That's a very good song, murheellisten laulujen maa. 💜

Their music works best in finnish because the vocals are usually quite genius and they used unusual words and word orders. Good old Eppu!
This drinking song always playing in liquer store ALKO in Finland 😂😂 more liquer = more tax income
OK. That was a joke
Eppu Normaali is Great . Please check sometimes Leningrad Cowboys and Red Army choir "too.

Mauro, when you come to Finland, just say: Hyvästi selvä päivä. Tahdon olla juovuksissa" and you'll have a "good time ;D
Vocalist in this song is exceptionally Pantse Syrjä, not his brother Martti Syrjä, who is their main vocalist.
This is kinda anthem for few generations of Finnish teens while hanging at weekend nights 😅😂
Vuonna 85 is better song 🤣
