    I watched a few videos on this. As someone stated the techs were doing from above. There is no way I could reach it. This video saved me time and it is a very simple procedure. Was done in 45 minutes including putting back together.

      There's a second you can only get to from the top. It's on the top rear of the engine tucked up under the firewall. Little easier to change if you remove the air intake plenum.

      How to Automotive hi how are you. Do you think a crank sensor could cause a p0300 code random misfire. Also are there two crank sensors I know one is on the passenger or right side behind front tire.

    I can't afford a mechanic and my check engine light was on this morning. The car did not want to start, but when it finally started, it ran a bit differently... i.e. was jerky and didn't want to accelerate, but once it got to about 15 mph, it's like it took off as if I gunned the gas. Anyhow, I took it to a parts store to get the code and it was P0335. I looked that up and it said crankshaft sensor. I watched your video and it seems like a fairly easy fix. I will keep this updated after I get the part and replace it. Thanks for the great tutorial.

    Brian, very good tutorial!! I do all my own work on my X and definitely think this makes it easy form first time wrench turners to those who have been banging knuckles for years. Just replaced my Crank sensor and would add the following.
    1. The sensor you get from the dealer may look different...the portion that goes into the bell housing (the hole) was silver and cylindrical. Additionally, the tab one the sensor, that allows the plug to "lock on, was on the opposite side...as in not on the side the 10mm screw is. This isn't a big deal as you have plenty of slack and room to rotate the plug ans seat it on the sensor. The boot still fits the same way...as it's primarily molded to fit over the bolt ear.
    2. I would buy THIS part from the Nissan dealer....it cost the same as the auto parts stores were selling them for $60 and change. Reviews for the parts stores had allot of failures and ECM compatibility issues. IMO if the costs are the same, I'll go with a dealer part every time.
    All in all an easy and quick fix. Thanks again for the great video!!!

    Sorry in advance for the lengthy comment and crazy questions, but Im not even gonna attempt to do this if there's other things that need to be done that I cant do(hope that made sense) Anyway, I keep reading where a "relearn" has to be performed after replacing the crankshaft sensor or other problems could arise. So first of all: Wtf is a relearn and what really happens if it's not done? Second: who does it/hows it done? Is there a cost involved? FYI: I have a 2003 Pathfinder.
    Thanks

      Brian - I replaced this and it ran fine for a bit, but now it’s doing the same thing again. When it gets hot on the highway, it’ll hesitate for a second or two, then resume, the VDC & Slip lights come on. Then, invariably, when I get back down to street speeds, it will conk out. Starts back up every time, though. What do you think I did wrong? :\

    • @HowtoAutomotive
      @HowtoAutomotive  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dave Rhea You may not have done anything wrong. If it’s an aftermarket sensory may not like it. Also could be cam sensors. I would start by pulling codes and seeing where that lead you.

      If it's the V6 then yes it's the same. I'll check tomorrow if the V8 is the same or not.

    Replace camshaft sensor but nothing change stalls in the stop light

    • @Adam12SD
      @Adam12SD 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have you changed the camshaft sensors as well? When my bank 1 went bad, my Xterra would stall intermittently and run rough. If you change them (crank or camshaft sensors) ALWAYS use OEM sensor replacements. Aftermarket sensors will never work reliably. Good luck to you!

    • @HowtoAutomotive
      @HowtoAutomotive  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stephen Lozada it’s hard to say and depends on the brand I’m sure. Denzo and NGK/NTK Make really good sensors.

    Fail. There are two cam sensors. You need to mention that. There is a passenger sensor and driver-side cam sensor.
