@@Ericlivinginhuahin Nice Home! Informative video of your Condo. I haven't been to Hua Hin, but I get good vibes from the videos I've seen. Seems to be a lot more laid back and possibly cheaper than Pattaya. What brought you to Hua Hin?
@@cabowabo5557 Thanks for your comments and question. I didn't plan on making that video I just suddenly decided to do it so had nothing prepared to say but for some reason, a lot of people have seen it. I've only lived in Chiang Mai and Hua Hin. I liked Chiang Mai a lot but I needed the sea and the beach and the Beach here is great. I spent two days In Pattaya in 2018 and did not like it. The only beach I saw was brown and too many ladies kept telling me I' so Handsome. It was definitely the Sea and the beach that brought me and now I"'m staying. I walk the beach every morning.
@@Ericlivinginhuahin Eric, you are Living the Life many can only dream about! My girlfriend lives in Pattaya and we keep an apartment there. It is OK for a little while but I want to change locations and get good vibes from Hua Hin. Eric, enjoy every day walking on the beach!!!
@@cabowabo5557 Yes Thank you for your comments. I am living my dream.I love Hua HIn and access to the beach is amazing. I'm there every day.
Is it pronounced "Hoo-ah Hin" or is it "Hwa Hin"???????
It's Hwa Hin
Great question, I've heard 3 different ways to say it here, and I obviously get mixed up as I try to change the way I say it. I really need to ask a Thai person who was born here to let me know the correct way.
Hoo-a-Hinn
21,000 baht a month - I need move!
Thailand is great, and rents are so much cheaper than Canada. The difficulty for some people is being able to get a long-term visa. Thankfully, I am able to get an O Visa based on retirement
@@Ericlivinginhuahin I'm going to look up this O visa. I'm glad you can enjoy your retirement without it being so expensive like it would be here. It also just seems so much more peaceful.
@@Ericlivinginhuahin this O visa seems great since you can continue to apply indefinitely. do you have to come back to Canada every three years inbetween re-applying or can you still be abroad and just have it extend into the new application? I wish bronsen was more interested in travelling. I am quiet interested in not living where I am and being more free spirited.
@@Adriabeen Well you have a ways to go for the O visa, there are other visas for a long-term stay. I recommend coming for shorter times to check it out before making a commitment. Thailand itself is much more peaceful, One of the reasons I wanted to come back and live here..
When you mention prices, it would be nice if you could also ball park it in USD for those who aren’t in Thailand and familiar with the exchange rate
The exchange rate is usually a little over 35 to 1 so his apartment is about $240 and if I understood correctly his total monthly expenses are 21000 which is $600 usd which you could survive on if you don’t have a GF and not a big drinker and just enjoy watching tv and walking on the beach
Hi, Thanks for the comment. I purposely do not give exchange rate prices as I am not assuming where people are viewing my videos from. My viewers come from different countries so I just hope if people are interested they will just google for their own currency. For myself I am trying not to convert to Canadian dollars, I'm just learning to live with Thai baht and get used to that as I'm just living here now.
@@TheDercomiszar , Yes! I quit drinking during Covid and just decided to stay quit. boy do I save a lot of money. No GF for me I hope ever I had two wives, that's enough of that.and yes, I enjoy walking the beach every day.
@@Ericlivinginhuahin I'm spending a similar amount in here in Jomtien for a similar quiet lifestyle & Hua Hin is now calling me so I appreciate your info.
@@ferney2936 Thank you so much for your comment. I haven't been to Jomtien yet, but I do plan to check it out someday. I love Hua HIn. I spent a year in Chiang mai and I liked it there but I need the sea.
Hua hin was the worst place I ever visited in Thailand,I live here and been many places,Hua hin would be at the very bottom of my list, wasn’t impressed 😩😩😩😩😩😩
Oh, I'm really sorry you had such a bad experience. Not sure why it wasn't great for you. For me it is wonderful. I guess I've been lucky..
Didn’t like the major hotels having a monopoly on the beaches, try Chantaburi or khanom much nicer
@@MarkThackeray-h3l Well, I pretty much stay away from the hotel area . but I've really adapted to this town and made so many friends. I don't want to leave here now.
