I am a new subscriber as of today and I love this video. You answered a lot of questions.. message to KRISTY… stop saying “you’re starving. “ is a recommendation of mine. I’m 53 years old and I was in a restaurant in Germany in 1980 with my grandmother and I said “I’m starving and she looked across at me and she goes “Richard, you don’t know what it means to starve”. I never forgot those words and the lesson I learned that day. You guys have a great channel. I will follow you forever. I’m so jealous. You’re in Thailand. I’m just worried about getting sick when I go there that’s why I started watching your videos. Love you love you love you love you.
Lol! "I don't like spicy hot!"said the girl that picks the hottest Thai dishes on every menu!...maybe try a Massaman curry that's not spicy and very mild or a nice Phad Thai. But credit where credit's due, at least you've tried 'em!...Enjoying your Thailand vids, looking forward to seeing more .
Heya Paul! Thanks so much 🥰 we did take a week off, felt lazy on Koh Tao and I (Kristy) got a nasty eye infection and got sick from the meds they gave me😕 We are soooo behind and might upload fortnightly for the next couple of videos - sorryyyyyy! 😢
Thanks so much guys! Hope you're having a great time in Hua Hin, we LOVED it but weren't there long enough unfortunately (2 days 😩). Such a great city - enjoy!
Great video! I just spent 30 days "December" in Hua Hin with my Thai gf. I rented a car and a house with a pool close to Bluport. The house was fully furnished including a full kitchen. I can't eat anything not american, so I cooked most of my meals or ate at the Burger King, KFC or Pizza Hut. We did eat "all you can eat rib's" at a small thai restaurant called the Windmill Restaurant, that was like $12 on Wednesday nights. Pizza Huts pan pizza is amazing, we ate there 3 times for lunch. Burger King Vanilla Milk Shakes were very cooling at 100 b. Pork, chicken and beef tacos, homemade along with grilled ham and cheese sandwiches, steaks and pork chops, were all on our menu.
Hello! Yes Hua Hin has absolutely everything doesn't it? We liked Bluport mall and also Village Market I think it was called. Hopefully you'll get to revisit again soon! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment ☺️
Wait a minute you're in Thailand And starving all the time because you ordered spicy thai food you should write a book on how to loss weight on vacation "Go To Thailand"
How can you not eat anything else than American food ? How ?😱 I just can not understand why anyone would not adapt to the World treasures, be it for food, music, art, culture……
Another great video, great drone shots, perfect backing music 👏🏻 👏🏻 Felt for you Kristy with the first two meals 🌶️ 🌶️ 😆, looks a lovely place, right up my street 👍👍
The umbrellas are not free!! And the first row closest to the water costs more. We were told that the seats were 100 baht each and they lead us to the front row. When the bill came, in addition to the food and drink we were charged 200 baht per seat. When we said we were told 100 per seat, they said that’s for the seats behind the front row. The lesson to be learned is negotiate EVERYTHING in advance to avoid surprises when the bill comes.
Hi Great aerial shots. Notice you had a drone controller in one of the frames. Was it easy getting your drone into Thailand? What is the process? I read online it isn't an easy process to go through.
Hi Clinton! We had no problems at all with our drone. There will be clear "no fly" zones marked if you cant use it in a particular area, but in regards to getting in to Thailand, absolutely no issue ( we have a DJI mini pro 4) ☺️
Loved ur video, have been looking for a honest down to earth view of the town. Keep up the good work. Can u recommend a place for a single person to stay? 😊
Hello! Thank you so much, that is very nice of you - we appreciate your kind words ☺️ We highly recommend the hotel we stayed, perfect location and very clean, spacious rooms. Its called the Thipurai City Hotel, we did a review on this hotel in our previous video (link in the top pinned comment & in the description). They also have a sister hotel called the Thipurai Beach Hotel which is meant to be pretty good to. We met quite a few people in our area so it would be fine if you're going alone, lots of singles out and about - its a fantastic place to visit 👌🏽

The reason they have the ticket/value cards is because part of the rent is % of their sales. So to make sure the vendors are reporting sales accurately, the venue organizers will enforce these cards/tickets instead of real cash.

Hello! That is so kind of you, thanks very much- we appreciate it! 🙏☺️ Enjoy your trip in January , you'll have a wonderful time - Hua Hin is brilliant!
Fantastic production, you two. I'm actually staying at the same hotel, and I agree, it's a brilliant place to stay, with nice clean rooms and brilliant and friendly staff. Unfortunately, the beach down from the hotel doesn't look anywhere near as appealing as you have shown it, and I found the hotel breakfast to be quite ordinary. The sea is a bit murky, but I need to check it out at low tide. I'll be having breakfast at HOC tomorrow, and going for a look at "beach number three". Thanks for the info!

Thanks so much! Apparently we went to the wrong part of Khao Takiab beach. We were meant to go further south to the really beautiful part - maybe give there a try! Have a great time, Hua Hin is great 👌🏽

Hello! We noticed a few dogs out and about on the beach but not really around the streets. We saw a lot of cats though! I think the street animals are pretty well looked after by the local business owners and workers, they looked to be in good health from what we saw in Hua Hin (thankfully). Thanks for watching our video and taking the time to comment! ☺️
@KristyandSteve It was the same in Jomtien. There are a lot of stray dogs. But they did not bother us. The dogs were healthy and treated kindly by the locals. We loved that.

Hi Norman! Not sure to be honest, we always pre book accommodation- even if its a few days before we arrive. I guess it also depends on the season, you should be able to walk in and get a good deal if its low season.
Hi guys, fellow Aussie here x x I’m catching the bus from BKK to HH in August for 3 weeks. I can’t wait. And heading from OZ to Phuket for a week this Monday coming. Been going back to Thailand for the last ten years and love it.
My husband and I were in Hua Hin a week ago. We were there for 2 weeks. Loved it. Definitely hot! We stayed at Laksashuba resort. Beautiful place! Stayed in Jomtien for a week. Another fun place. But I enjoyed Hua Hin more. Planning to retire there. But will scout out Cha Am first. We love the locals. Land of Smiles for sure. Be prepared to see many foreigners that fled the war in their country. Not very smiley people.
Hello! We heard Cha Am is wonderful, unfortunately didnt have enough time to check it out this time. Glad you and your husband enjoyed Hua Hin- we love it to! Cant wait to revisit 🥰 Thank you for watching & taking the time to comment
Sure it's not the phuket/krabi beaches but apart from that HuaHin feels so much more genuine, cozy and calm than the phuket/krabi-area... also much cheaper.
I appreciate your video. I’ve learned a lot more aboutHUA Hin than I knew before. I’ve got questions. Initially I was underthe impression that this was a much gentler place than Bangkok or Phuket. And I’m sure that it is. But I’ve also come to understand that it’s primarily a vacation town. So in season prices go up, off-season prices go down. It’s difficult to judge your budget when there’s that much fluctuation. Initially I found what appeared to be so nice one story two and three bedroom individual condo units each had its own pool etc. etc. They were fairly reasonably priced I think it was something like $30000.00. I’ve now come to understand that buying a home really isn’t the best idea for an Ex Pat. Renting on an annual contract seems the way to go. I’m a single American, 70 years old and really don’t intend to travel that much. I’m just looking for a less expensive place to retire on my Social Security check. Now, questions: it looks a great deal more crowded than I expected. The area I had been shown before was residential and really new. I’ve come to understand that Thai construction standards are nowhere near ours. Things initially may look pretty good but they don’t seem to hold up overtime. So I’m gonna rent. Give myself an escape valve. I had also considered buying a car. I’m not gonna do that I’m gonna use Tuk Tuks. If I absolutely need the use of a car I’ll just rent one. I don’t plan on spending my time in girly bars throwing money away. I doubt if there are many Thai ladies interested in 70 year old Americans.. And honestly I don’t think I could keep up with one of them. As far as the beach goes I’ve noticed that there are a great deal of boulders both on and just offshore. It doesn’t look like it’s a very comfy place to go swimming. I’m sure there are areas of the beach that have been cleaned up… likely in front of the big hotels… so I’m hoping that whatever living arrangement I find has a pool. I prefer a pool anyway. Most of these condominiums don’t have what we Americans would consider to be a realistic kitchen. I would probably try to find an American combo microwave convection oven which is how I cook most my meals now anyway. So here’s my last question do you see this town as a reasonably decent spot for an American Expat? It seems to me that there are likely to be a fair number of English speakers around i.e. other Expats.. For day to day communication with the locals I hope to find vendors who have some understanding of English or I also hope to pick up some Thai. I also intend to buy one of these nicer electronic translation devices so that hopefully I can speak into it to them so they can hear it and they speak back and it translated for me. This sounds like a decent solution and certainly beats getting married just to have a translator. Take care best wishes to you and I look forward to your response.
Hi! Wow thank you for taking the time to send us this detailed comment - and for watching our video. To answer your question overall, yes absolutely Hua Hin is a wonderful place to retire in (regardless of age and Nationality). There are a lot of people from all over the world living there - mainly Scandinavians from our observations and interactions. English is widely spoken and you can live as "local", or as "international" as you like. We cant wait to revisit. Would love to hear if you decide to move there! ☺️
Hello! Yes you can definitely swim in the sea...its lovely and warm. We liked where the Marriott Hotel is located, the beach was quiet and clean. Enjoy your trip! ☺️
The main beach is lovely - I have been going down there most mornings for years. Sometimes they will charge for the chairs and sometimes they will not - even if you are buying food and drink. I always sit up the back for one hour, have a B100 and then leave. I have known the same family for years. There are horses on the beach every day. The beach is essentially 'closed' for traders and horses on Wednesdays - it is known as cleaning day.
Thanks for the info! Yes, agree the main beach is very nice. We preferred it to Khao Takiab. We needed more time for visit more of the area - Hua Hin is A LOT bigger than we were expecting! Thanks for watching ☺️
I always eat at Tamarind if I go down to the Cicada/Tamarind markets as I think the food is cheaper and you don't have to deal with the tickets. That guy playing the guitar at the end of the Cicada market section is probably the best Blues/Rock player in Hua Hin and I think plays at the Woodstock bar every Friday night. (Which may be his bar. Not sure though)
The band was brilliant! We loved both markets for different reasons, its good they're so close together so you can just go between the two ☺️ Do you have a favourite vendor to get your food from at Tamarind?
Hello! Yes we would recommend. It had a nice, calm and relaxed atmosphere in a beautiful garden-like setting. The vendors were quite spread out so it never felt overly busy either. Both the Cicada and Tamarind markets are worth a visit 👌🏽
Oh my days I was just saying to Rob I’d book an extra night and go tomorrow and then boom Kristy you’ve booked a night and your staying you sound just like how I would and then coffee and an extra night and your smiles back I love it

I’ve been to hua hin 5 times it’s a great place not as mental as Pattaya very relaxing, people are great restaurants are fab,you can go to kho tak yip a lovely quiet beach area about 5 mins from hua hin centre. Definitely go to hua hin well worth it 👍
Hello! There are quite a lot of muay thai gyms in Hua Hin. Not sure about general fitness centres, but Im sure there were a few around (especially in hotels)☺️ Thanks for watching, glad you liked our video!
from wat i understood there different parts of hua hin for different main atractions bars / golf/ markets .....come to think of it i might been mistaken by videos about pattaya , around that time of day it might be more useful to try and visit some of the market places , think the morning markets are mostly produce and raw products and the night markets more art music food and clothes hmmm didnt knew about the coupons , the other youtubers didnt mentioned them when they visited , think i saw them pay cash but that mightve been at the market across the street , the coupons might be in the hopes that people dont return them if they dont get used , makes them money the other videos i seen where more recent so they might have abandoned the setup nowadays
The reason they use food coupons is to prevent employee thefts. If they use cash, employees would just pocket the cash. The coupons are of no use for the employees if they don't turn them in. Kristy will have better luck with skewered meats as the spices are already in Tom Yum broth. The same with som tum, the prior batch maybe very spicy and she's getting what's carried over in the pestle.
Ah that makes sense with the coupons! Tom Yum Kung is my favourite Thai dish and 9 times out of 10, the spice is perfectly acceptable - just this one blew my head off! haha
Thanks Martin! Glad you liked our video. Good to know about the beach chairs, we didn't actually hire any on Hua Hin beach (just Khao Takiab), so thats helpful for people reading the comments. Can you recall the cost per day for the beach chairs? ☺️
Incredible photography - well done. My first time to see your channel. Didn't get to Hua Hin on my trip to Thailand last summer.. Really missed out. Thinking of retirement visa in Thailand... I'm wondering how to make sure my food is NOT SPICY. Are there Thai words/ phrases to use for this ?
Thanks very much Bryan, we appreciate that! Hua Hin is lovely, we could live there quite easily as it has absolutely everything - highly recommend you visit next time 🥰 "Mai ped" is "not spicy" (doesnt always work though haha 😆)
Thanks for the video. Coming to Thailand for my holiday 26. June. Beside BKk, I'm thinking of maybe Hua Hin. Pattaya is out of the question (too much of everything...).
Hello! Hmmm in that case, maybe do your own research, we used a drone (and so have many of our friends) with zero issues over the past 2.5 years we've been in and out of Thailand . ☺️
Good video as I like you using the map planning on visiting Hua Hin in November 2024 please please get her a Hamburger she's killing me about spicy thai food 🙏
Haha No way, I love Thai food...just a little less spicy thats all 🤣 Thanks for watching, have a great time when you visit - November is a beautiful time of year for Hua Hin 👌🏽
Fair enough! ☺️ Not everywhere is for everyone. I guess like most places, it depends on the time of year you go. Do you have a favourite place in Thailand ?
Having lived in Thailand for good 12 years, when ordering food that can be spicy, always tell them ‘ Mai pet’. No spicy. If you tell them a little spice, you will most likely get more hot spicy that you can eat.
Not being funny ..but it looks like nice parts of Greece .. like Ionian islands ...side....🌴I have not been to Thailand yet..but this Lovely resort has me Sold on it..Thanks 🐅🌹🌴
Sorry about the spicy food, we have found that you have to ask for it not spicy, but also no chilies. That's the only way to keep the heat and spice to a minimum.
Hi Thomas! Yes , you are so right! You'd think I'd build up some kind of tolerance to heat = nope! 😔 Appreciate you watching & taking the time to comment, thanks!
Hi, May I share the most important news you will ever hear? God the Father sent His holy Son Jesus Christ(Y'shua Ha' Mashiach) from heaven to earth, to be born of a virgin. He grew up and died on the cross for our sins. He was put into a tomb for 3 days, and then Abba Father raised Jesus to life and He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must all sincerely receive Jesus to be a true child of God. It says in John 1:12 "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." Will you genuinely believe on Christ Jesus and truly receive Him today, before it is too late?
You are WRONG,! 12 + years living in HH. Native Thai pronounce it "Wah - Hin" . (Basically the same as the smart phones produced by that Chinese company "HuaWei". i.e. "Wah -Wei". "Wah -Hin"
You really did not show the fantastic beach in Hua hin. Between north side of Khao Takiab and where you entered the beach (horse rent) you have 5 km of the most fantastic beach. Hilton beach is no good. just go 200 meter to the south of where you enter the beach you have this 5 Km stretch of white sand. You missed it. what a petty. otherwise great video
We thought there must have been a much better beach somewhere around Khao Takiab as many people said it was the best to visit (and the area we went in the video was clearly not that impressive). Oh its disappointing we went to the wrong part of it 😫 Thank you for bringing this to our attention , we will be sure to follow your advice next time we're in Hua Hin.
We stayed at the Hilton a few years ago. I went in the ocean for 5 minutes and got a weird rash. The water there is nothing like southern Thailand. There were also a lot of “bars” with “bar girls” everywhere. We went to an Indian restaurant across the street from the Hilton and I was bitten on my big toe by a rat. I did have brown nail polish on so he probably thought it was a tender morsel of food. 😂 We were coming home to Canada in a few days where I went through a series of rabies shots, just in case. We were not impressed. There are definitely better places to visit in Thailand.
Oh no! sorry to hear about your less-than-ideal experience in Hua Hin 😔 That does not sound enjoyable at all - your views are totally valid. Where are some of your favourite places you've visited in Thailand?

Great video! May I have the name of the restaurant where you had the mushroom burger please? Thanks
Hello! Thanks very much ☺️ It's called the Hua Hin Vegan & Wine Cafe - beautiful food , highly recommend
Is it worth while prebooking accomadation or better deals at the reception
Hi Norman! Not sure to be honest, we always pre book accommodation- even if its a few days before we arrive. I guess it also depends on the season, you should be able to walk in and get a good deal if its low season.
@@KristyandSteve Thanks Guys always find your utube informative

Hi guys, fellow Aussie here x x I’m catching the bus from BKK to HH in August for 3 weeks. I can’t wait. And heading from OZ to Phuket for a week this Monday coming. Been going back to Thailand for the last ten years and love it.
Hey there! Have a great time in Thailand, we already miss it! 😔 (we're back home now in Melbourne)
Enjoy! 🍻
@@KristyandSteve yikes back to the cold haha. I’ll be going from cold to boiling hot!
Not too bad in Melb at the moment, around 20 degrees today ☀️ Would rather be in Thailand though haha
Have a nice trip!
Cant wait to revisit 🥰
Thank you for watching & taking the time to comment
Sure it's not the phuket/krabi beaches but apart from that HuaHin feels so much more genuine, cozy and calm than the phuket/krabi-area... also much cheaper.
Completely agree with you! We LOVE Hua Hin, very liveable city 👌🏽
We loved the Tamarind Market! People should know about eating there first before going to Cicada. Thanks for pointing it out. Great vid!
Completely agree! Thanks so much 🥰
Try the Chatchai night market. Much better than Cicada or Tamarind
Thanks for the suggestion, Lance! ☺️
Thanks..I'm visiting Bangkok and Hua Hin soon, really helpful 😀
Have such a great time! Glad you found our video helpful ☺️
We are flying to Thailand in 2 weeks and also want to go to Hua hin. can you swim in the sea there? what is the water quality?
The beach is essentially
'closed' for traders and horses on Wednesdays - it is known as cleaning day.
Hello guys, new subbie. Great content ! What was the price of the train ride and how long did it take to arrive? Thanks
Hello! Thanks so much for subscribing, we appreciate it! All details of the journey from Bangkok to Hua Hin are in the video ☺️
That 1st market didn’t look too great on camera. Would you recommend?
Hello! Yes we would recommend. It had a nice, calm and relaxed atmosphere in a beautiful garden-like setting. The vendors were quite spread out so it never felt overly busy either. Both the Cicada and Tamarind markets are worth a visit 👌🏽
@@KristyandSteve thk u will be sure to go then!

I’ve been to hua hin 5 times it’s a great place not as mental as Pattaya very relaxing, people are great restaurants are fab,you can go to kho tak yip a lovely quiet beach area about 5 mins from hua hin centre. Definitely go to hua hin well worth it 👍
Ooh we'll check out that beach next time! ☺️
How long did you spend in Hua hin
3 nights (not long enough!) 😅
Did you see any fitness centers while you were walking around? I try to keep in shape while traveling. I really enjoyed your video.
Hello! There are quite a lot of muay thai gyms in Hua Hin. Not sure about general fitness centres, but Im sure there were a few around (especially in hotels)☺️ Thanks for watching, glad you liked our video!
@@KristyandSteve thanks! 👍🏻
from wat i understood there different parts of hua hin for different main atractions bars / golf/ markets .....come to think of it i might been mistaken by videos about pattaya , around that time of day it might be more useful to try and visit some of the market places , think the morning markets are mostly produce and raw products and the night markets more art music food and clothes
hmmm didnt knew about the coupons , the other youtubers didnt mentioned them when they visited , think i saw them pay cash but that mightve been at the market across the street , the coupons might be in the hopes that people dont return them if they dont get used , makes them money
the other videos i seen where more recent so they might have abandoned the setup nowadays
Is it safe to stroll around the city at night?
Yes! We felt very safe in Hua Hin , no problems at all ☺️
@@KristyandSteve Thank you.. very nice video as well as informative - a big thumbs up!
Thanks so much! We appreciate that 🥰
How much for the tuktuk to the other beach please? 😊
Hello! It was 200 baht ☺️
Tom Yum Kung is my favourite Thai dish and 9 times out of 10, the spice is perfectly acceptable - just this one blew my head off! haha
Great advice ! Well done😊
You two have a Thai heart because you guys are so nice. and I love it.🩵💚
This is so sweet, thank you! 🥹❤️
Good Video, we were there in March are were charged per day for the beach chairs.
Thanks Martin! Glad you liked our video. Good to know about the beach chairs, we didn't actually hire any on Hua Hin beach (just Khao Takiab), so thats helpful for people reading the comments. Can you recall the cost per day for the beach chairs? ☺️
Im here right now also
How great is it
Oh we LOVE Hua Hin! Such a great place - enjoy!
Love this video, so helpful with my trip planning thk you 🙏

I have the same drone. Another blogger I watch does as well. He says you have to apply to be able to fly it or face possible fines or jail.
Hello! Hmmm in that case, maybe do your own research, we used a drone (and so have many of our friends) with zero issues over the past 2.5 years we've been in and out of Thailand . ☺️

I have been to huahin and cha am . For me is too crowded and very strong currents in the water , very near the beach . So never again

Having lived in Thailand for good 12 years, when ordering food that can be spicy, always tell them ‘ Mai pet’. No spicy. If you tell them a little spice, you will most likely get more hot spicy that you can eat.
Thank you 🙏 ☺️
Looks lovely ❤

Its fantastic , isnt it! Its good that two great food markets are across the road from each other- so many delicious options to choose from! 😋

Sorry about the spicy food, we have found that you have to ask for it not spicy, but also no chilies. That's the only way to keep the heat and spice to a minimum.

It's pronounced Hooah Hin...please quit perpetuating the WhaHin. There is no w
Otherwise a good vlog
i do not see the difference
หัวหิน. Who-ah Hin.
You are WRONG,! 12 + years living in HH. Native Thai pronounce it "Wah - Hin" .
(Basically the same as the smart phones produced by that Chinese company "HuaWei". i.e. "Wah -Wei". "Wah -Hin"
Pacocha Valley
I dont know what this means, John! 😅
@@KristyandSteve Thank you for answering. You still made an enjoyable video. thx a lot

Good lord girl you are high maintenance, chill out you are in Thailand, not Miami!
No apologies for being myself, Kevin! 🤣 Thanks for watching our video !
good!!!!!!!
