Information is soo powerful. Right now, you will have a guy living in a van or storage box, for $1,000 a month, not realising that he could be living like a KING in thailand !
Note, the immigration rules change somewhat arbitrarily. so beware of possibly being stopped at the airport or border. I did 8 months without a visa too, but now I have a retirement visa. In Bangkok, my rent is about $330 in a great condo with two pools, a fitness center, a basketball court, a study building with a game room too. A public train station is steps away, less than a 2 minute walk and a mall is attached by bridge to the train station. My electricity is about $25 a month, my internet is about $10, my cell phone is $6. I eat western practically every day, so my food and entertain is maybe $500 to $700 per month. So I live on about $1,100 a month.
@@ceeIoc Yes. You can find cheaper monthly rent: less than $200 per month. Other expenses are local transportation costs: $0.60 to $1.10 per subway ride. Travel to and from a nearby country every 2 months to renew your visa is another expense you may have to incur.
I will say this as a 63 year old American grandmother. You seem to be a mature minded young man, which I think will take you far. Be safe, and I wish all the best!
If you want less hassles go rent a hotel room in a not so expensive hotel just let them know how long you are staying and negotiate better rates. Same places are like extended stays and rent for about 400 dollars a month and you don't need to deal with hassle of paying water bills, electric bills separately. You can easily get a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom for that price.
I’ve never really considered it a "hassle" to pay utilities in Thailand, and lets face, unless you are only staying a few months you are always going to get a much nicer place at a better price by renting a condo long term. Back to utilities though, the guy was not getting ripped off on utilities simply because he was in an airbnb. In fact, its the same situation when renting a condo in Thailand. Unlike in the USA where everyone in a given city pays the same rate and even renters all pay directly to the utility company, in Thailand you are always paying the landlord and there are different utility rates for each building even within the same city. The first thing you want to check when renting any place in Thailand is what rate you will be paying for electricity and water. I only pay 5 baht per kilowatt hour at my big and very nice condo here in Phuket but my girlfriend pays double that amount at her small apartment in Buriram where she goes to school. So her utilities end up costing about half of what her monthly rent is. You always have to check this before you sign the contract for a condo or apartment rental.
I'm considering this. I travel a lot in the USA and have about 500,000 Marriot points. I wonder would it be worth it to burn them in Thailand, or maybe Spain or Portugal.
@@eQuariuzthat's a no brainer, Thailand for sure!! 🥳 Been living here a while now, been to both Spain and Portugal, nothing really compares, while thise places are nice and all, Thailand is just on a whole different level, that have mañana pinned by heart, here it's sabai sabai 😂 no stress, no worries, just enjoy life and smile 😊
@@isanBen How are you able to live there for so long? I want to stay there for about 6 months, but reading only line, a tourist visa only allows for 60 days, with the option to extend another 30 days. How can one stay for a longer duration?
What's the best way to hire an experienced expat travel agent type, or trusty free lancer to set up a 3 month trip to Thailand, with possible multiple extensions? Also, who to stay away from in the travel business. Not looking for sexpat and endless party drinking, I did all that 30 years ago in Thailand. Looking for healthy, peaceful relaxation and as a recluse, maybe make a friend or two. Anybody?
Hi, this clip is so useful. Thank you so much for visiting us. As a Thai, this is just my opinion. Lots of Thai women who have regular jobs and do housework are out there, but their lifestyles might not be so attractive or interesting. They might be too busy working to support themselves and parents more than going to parties at night. These women are looking for long term relationship for sure. However, they will not commit themselves to guys they just meet at pubs and bars. Well, people who go to the right place will find the right people. Anyway, hope you enjoy Thailand so far. I wish you have a great trip wherever you go. Take care. Please come to visit Thailand again.😀
@@Rodderz1 - Over the years in Thailand I have dated mostly students, office ladies, departments store girls, hotel staff, beauticians, etc., and I have found it to be very easy to meet them just in the course of going about my normal day. I have also met some of my ex-gfs online however, including my current girlfriend who is a student. Of course this is not as easy as it used to be as prostitutes have pretty much taken over most the popular Thai dating sites (apps) like Thaifriendly. And the worst part is that 95% of the freelancers who put up profiles on these sites will give no indication in their profile that they are actually there to find customers, so you have to waste your time contacting them first to find out. The bottom line is you will have to spend hundreds of hours on these sites weeding out undesirables like prostitutes, scammers, or ladyboys pretending to be real women before you finally find a few women that you might actually want to meet in person for a date.
@@Rodderz1Thats simple: Bar Girl is a Title. Freelancer is a Title. Pro is a Title. Avoid those places where the Title Bearers make a living. Go be a regular guy. Do regular people stuff in regular people places.
@@Rodderz1 If you ask such a question, I'm afraid you'll have a hard time meeting such girls my friend 😅 Honestly, in those places that are listed above, you'll find these regular girls mixed with the "not" regular girls and you'll have no way to tell the difference if girls wear normal outfit A girl can have a regular job and still mingle with foreigners in orders to extract money from him by telling sob stories when he's away. In humble opinion, forger about it if you're just a holiday maker. If you live there and work there it'd be different. I watched a good videos a few months back from a foreigner who lives there and his advice on vetting the girl sounded much better than what I had ever heard before but I don't remember at all what he said, so I can't give you his advice but I would share the link later if I find the video. Meanwhile, in my opinion, foreigner who I think can easily meet a real regular girl would be a foreigner that study in a thai university and date a fellow thai student. A foreigner that work a corporate job and date a fellow co-worker. A foreigner who can speak thai and instead of evolving in places where expats and tourists evolve, he evolves mostly in places where there are almost exclusively thai people. One wants to deal with women that don't usually deal with foreigners and speak next to zero english (unless they work a corporate job with an international staff or with international clients, or she's university level educated). I would be always quite suspicious with a low educated girl from Isaan who can speak somewhat good english but even if it's just thaiglish. So, if you want it quick and easy, chances are high that you'll end up with a girl that in one way or another (pro, semi-pro, freelance etc.) has used her charm to get money from foreigners. If you'd rather avoid this type of girls, then you might need to live there, allow yourself time to observe and look for red flags that you'll come to know by your asking long time expats and by your own experience, and probably by putting effort into learning the language so that you can interact with women that usually don't interact with foreigners or be sinical about it by not telling your new partner that you understand thai so that you might find out if she says good things about you when she speaks with her friend over the phone or in real life, or if she's telling them she doesn't like you and is just trying to finesse you 😂😂😂 I'm not an expert when it comes to Thailand or thai girls. I'm a simple holiday maker, with multiple visits in Thailand, who's stating his opinion 😊
My advice: Don’t rely on your savings. Unless you are a millionaire if you don’t have a source of income don’t move to Thailand. You will spend more than you expected, you will ruin the experience as you see your bank account going down, eventually you will run out of money and you will regret your time in Thailand. If you don’t have sustainable source of income while in Thailand, keep it simple, just work in the west, save money and go to Thailand just for holidays.
@@evandalism It's a good question if it is ACTUALLY passive. If it is a rental income and your tenants stop paying and refuse to leave it becomes not passive any more 😂
@@evandalism Sounds like enough but as long as you bring s good chunk of change also like $10,000 to $15,000 just to have a nice pool to draw from so your not solely relaying off the passive income you bring in month to month if you over spend.
Lived in Thailand from 1998-2005 no apps etc about them days 😆 😂 getting around in Bangkok I would either rent a little scooter or just jump in a tuk tuk.... I ended up on an island called kho Tao and spent over 6 years on that island... always eat Thai or Asian food in Thailand even back when I travelled western food was expensive.... keep travelling young man... I loved it... also pop over to Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia etc and go visit bali and Goa.. ✌
2k a month is a very solid income….will provide every necessity-nice place, scooter payment, visa runs, health insurance, eating out, little bit of partying, few girls a months, or a solid gf, cell phone, gym membership (if want)…I lived in the Philippines for 90 days, and easily lived on 1200 USD a month.
Public Transportation - Coming from London and being used to a very connected transportation system the disconnected MRT, BTS, water taxis and various levels of buses (basic open windows no A/C to more modern busses) was a shock in Bangkok. I once waited for a bus to go to Wat Pho for nearly 1 hour. I gave up and I went home. No timetable and bad traffic. Motorbike taxis introduces me to scooters. Which I have fallen in love with. Accommodation - It is really easy to get a condo. Minimal paperwork. The facilities are amazing. Rooftop pools, gyms, communal/co-working spaces, manicured gardens, security and parking. And if you are really lucky a 7Eleven on the premises comes in handy. The Heat - I still have not got used to the heat. Safety - I feel safe traveling about alone. People have been helpful. Flying Internally - Flying from Bangkok to Chiang Mai is 1 1/2 hours reasonably priced. So I can get a fix of Bangkok for a few days and fly back. The same for Krabi and Phuket. I am living in Chiang Mai Thailand, I have hired a scooter to get around, I am trying to learn the language, I am trying different condos. I have flown to Singapore and Malaysia. I plan to visit Sri Lanka, Philippines and Vietnam in the next 6 months, as they are close and airfare is reasonably priced. Pre lockdown I had written off SE Asia as being too foreign but now I am glad I came and I want to visit as many Asian countries before I go back to the UK.
Very nice and precise information there, you opened up an addictive country, it's hard to shake this place once you've been here and experienced the real Thailand and not just those pesky travel vlogs 😅 I for one, will have a very tough time if I ever have to leave, this has quickly become my home in both heart and soul, sure things are very different from what I'm used to back in Scandinavia, but honest to God, I never really enjoyed life there, fell in love with an amazing woman who is the best of everything in my life, blessed to have the opportunity to come here and feel so welcomed by everyone I've met 🥰🙏

@@gregandsonia I went the Education visa route with Pro Language School, they have offices in Bangkok, Pattaya and Chiang Mai. But you still have to go to the Immigration office every 3 months as they don't seem to issue 6month or 1 year Education visas. And you have to do the 90 day immigrant declaration thing. Really annoying. Chiang Mai let me drive as I don't think I am crazy enough to drive in Bangkok traffic. I sometimes just drive around. There is always an interesting temple to come across or you go off the motorways and it looks rural.
ELECTRICITY: that's the first question you need to ask even before having a look at a condo. Isaiah is right: they make money off your electricity, but there are places you will be charged directly by the electricity company. I live in a condo in Chiang Mai and actually have my local electricity company app on my phone and get billed on the first. I pay my bill directly to the electricity company, and the rate at the moment is 4.70 baht per unit (inclusive of their 7% VAT). The rate changes from time to time. It was actually 4.77 until May ('23) but it was reduced to 4.70 for the 4 summer months.
Thats nice. I live in Chiang Mai too and they charge me 10 Baht per Unit. I not asked before i signed the contract. in Hot Season my bill is easily 100-120 Dollar

It is absolutely crazy to me the amount of guys that go to a bar - meet a girl ( prostitute ) fall for them and say she is different- really loves them. And are shocked at how badly it ends.
Yup 👍 these guys say that stupid saying. Can’t take the bar out da bar girl . The bar girls say , can’t take the sucker out the suckers . It’s like , why do the guys go to Thailand to try and rescue a working girl . Why they can just rescue a working girl where they are from ? These guys are just horn ball desperate wanna be super man’s and have nothing else going on in their lives and blame freelance girls for ruining there live 😂 frickrn suckers that don’t have the patience to put in the effort for searching for a companion, just think my chump change money can buy a vulnerable girl , but the guy is the one who is vulnerable “” the sucker “”
Nice summary. You are wise in many areas, most importantly when it comes to dating. As a Thai woman, I would say trying to meet people outside the bars. Professional people, university students ect. You would know what kind of jobs they have or their lifestyles are. Good luck and God bless, hope you come back to Thailand again.
As far as costs go different provinces and different parts of a city have massively different costs. Phuket is by far the most expensive place in Thailand. Also if you are staying a while learning some Thai can help reduce costs a lot as places that cater for English speakers primarily cost a lot more. Also you will usually find the best Thai food by looking for places where many Thai people eat
I have followed your vids for a while. Just subscribed. I am relocating to Asia June 2024. I have spent a lot of time there but this move is move permanent. I am also a Solo traveller in my late 50’s😊
Just take a lot of cash with you before traveling to Thailand. Hide some on your shoes, Money Belt, Wallet, Cellphone carry case, Hat, Pockets, vest , Get creative. I think the maximum you can take on airport is 10k dollars for most people that is plenty of money to last about 5-6 months. Open an account with a bank that could be found in Thailand Like CHASE. They got branch in Bangkok. If you need pull money out instead of going to ATM go to a teller inside the Bank the fees are often waived or less. The bigger Western banks are less likely to give you a hard time about opening a bank account. Use your Passport.
This is about the worst advice. Civil Asset forfeiture happens all the time. Look into a Schwab account that reimburses you all ATM fees. Bring enough for a couple of days. Good to use ATM at open Bank Branch if you have card troubles.
Been in Bangkok for about 10months, I haven't really had the time to explore their food as I want, been sticking to the few I already know. And yes, 7eleven is a life saver, you can get the basic things there.
Basic things?! They have everything 5555 I'm sure you can buy a live buffalo if you ask, but get out ! Go eat some real food! Follow the Thai people, get away from main roads full of foreigners, eat the best of everything, ask local people where to eat, dang dude, 7 eleven, killing the local small stores you know 😱😁
Great INFO on THAILAND. I usually utilize AIRBNB for the first month then I try to make a personal deal with the host or manager apart from AIRBNB. I do this a lot when visiting The Dominican Republic. Most hosts or property managers would love to do business without involving AIRBNB..
@@TheKlopdokter It’s very affordable. You I’d recommend doing an airb&b for a week or so and then scoop out the land to see where you want to be and price places locally. Hotels are also super cheap there

Excellent video and great pacing! Very easy to stay engaged with your video! I have just moved to Thailand this summer and I have found your video very helpful in confirming things I am doing well versus some new things to try. Thanks!!
If you are there for any stretch its more cost effective to just rent a condo vs doing airbnb because that way you can get the electricity bill on your account & a lot of places give the government rate or a rate that is relatively close to it.(Bangkok, Chiang Mai or Pattaya) If using WU to send money to yourself choose the slow rate instead of money in minutes & the exchange rate is pretty good right now USD to THB. If you want to stay for up to a year apply for an education visa & learn the Thai language(
avoid ATM issues by opening an account with Charles SChwab when you are in the usa. the debit card refunds all fees at ATMS worldwide.- takes 3 weeks. they also have great service. If you dont have schwab at least make sure you choose "local currancy" and "" do not convert " so that your bank converts currency not the strange ATM- less fees
So happy I came across your channel! 8 months in Thailand is impressive. I am Thai and I love seeing people living and loving it there. I think many people have a misconception that Thailand is cheap and it can be but it can also be VERY expensive. Money goes quick if you don’t know how to plan and coordinate. Dating is tough everywhere and you shouldn’t categorize all women in Thailand that way but you have to think about the place you’re at. Thailand is still considered a third world country and there is real poverty there. Many Thai people and people in third/developing countries see foreigners who travel there and assume they are all rich. Of course there’s bad people everywhere who would take advantage of any situation but I sure hope you meet a nice Thai women! Enjoy the rest of your time there 🎉

BANK: open WISE Bank account before coming to Thailand. You will get a debit card with it, but the point is you will not have to pay ATM charges as you can convert your $$ into baht in a very good exchange rate with minimal commission. MOST RECOMMENDED!
I have been living in Thailand for 9 months already and money can go quickly. Especially if you are traveling around Thailand. Since I don’t have a visa, I have to travel outside the country often to get a visa on arrival. I applied for a tourist visa and I got approved. Great video. Ive been in Thailand since December and agree with your points. I love Thai food but will crave western food at some point in the week. My permanent base is Chiang Mai and 90% of western food isn't great. Also there are thai meals here for 50-60thb per meal. Though the standard varies. I was ordering from one place. First two times were good. The third meal the meat was all fat. I thought it may have been an off night, then ordered again and was the same. Though found paying circa 100thb-120thb per meal you get far better quality and its more consistent. If you avoid alcohol and dont go western, it super reasonable.
Im so excited to go! Ive been doing research for the last 6 months. Im very excited to learn about the culture and history. Have some tours planned as well. And dont get it twisted i am about to RUN THRU these thai girls.
For me, need to treat this like a normal life, work Tuesday to Saturday and go out on Saturday and Sunday. I try to travel on Sunday/Monday since I try to keep my work during USA time.
And if one treats it like a normal life, they can easily get by on $2000 a month having a decent life style. When he says ones needs to over $2000 this is if you want to live as if you were on vacation. Hotel aside, I used to spend around 100€ (just a bit higher than $100) a day during my holidays from 2007 to 2011, but I was what some peope call a xxx-tourist and that meant I would spend this amount because I pay for girls to get freaky with me, or else I would never have spent this kind of money on any day during my vacation. And as a member of a few forums dedicated to mongering in Thailand, I can say than the average daily budget for a monger was around $100-150. People who spent more were pretty much put in the high roller or the "Two weeks millionaires" category. And these are people who were on holiday. Expats were usually more frugal on their spending I know, it's been over a decade. But I was back in Thailand last year after more than a decade. And I noticed that hotels, food and condo prices are pretty much the same as before. It's pretty much the price for girls company that have increased (exponentially in some places). But, in my opinion, the life of an ordinary man is not the one where one would pay 20 to 30 women to have bed fun each month, nor spend $100 on a night out 30 days a month (not even 20 days for that matter). This is a holiday lifestyle not a normal lifestyle. But let's say one spends $100 on average, every single time they get out and they get out 8-10 times a month. That's $800-1000 a month for fun times. That leaves $1000-$1200 a month for food and bills. Are you telling me one can't get a decent one bedroom flat and eat decently with that money? Are you serious? If so, I need you to do a break down of regular expenses. I spent 3 months from late october 2022 to late january 2023. I was renting a one bedroom condo at Olympus City Garden in central Pattaya. This building was only two years old, so it wasn't some cheap dusty condo, it was a very decent brand new condo and I was able to live on $1000 easily when it comes to accommodation bills and food. With $2000 a month, I would have felt like Rockefeller sha***ing bar girls left and right 😅 and you're telling me one needs more than $2000 to live well in Thailand??? Get out of here man! 😂
I agree with everything you said! Also living in Thailand for 3 months now, and I found your video very informative and a good picture of the reality here! Just didn’t mentioned the endemic Lady Boys 😅
I've seen my lady get a grab cab before. We are thinking of moving to Thailand over Philippines. I am in USA now and she is moving back to Japan for work after we thought it over a long long time. We plan on moving in summer or fall of 2024. We've been together almost 4 yrs now.
I lived in Thailand for a few years way back in 2004-2006. I think he's accurate with everything he said. I was teaching when I lived there so I stayed productive. One thing people have to keep in mind, is if you decide to live in Thailand you have to shift from a 'Vacation' to 'Resident' mindset. Meaning, when you're in vacation mode you're carefree and maybe even party mode and it's challenging to break out of this since this vibe is strong in Thailand. Being in Resident mode takes self-discipline and initiative. To secure an apartment, Job, etc. Even if you don't want or need to work, you have to find something to keep yourself occupied like learning Thai, Muay Thai, Cooking, etc.. If you don't, then your $$$ is going to go down the drain especially if you're into the nightlife, drinking, etc. Thailand is cheap ( although it's getting pricey now) but money will go fast if you don't manage it or create a budget like he said. Also, get out of the tourist areas and live in a more residential/local area if you're going to be there long term. There are many housing options. Speak to Expats that been living there for a long time. Also, if you make some Thai friends they'll help you! In fact, they're better resources than farang! Also, I can't believe he's paying that much for AC? $160/mo. In Thailand?!.....No fricken way! Where are you living? Something is not right, definitely. I'd look into that or move altogether if they're taking advantage. Not sure if a farang can make an official complaint about this, but I'd definitely look into it. My utilities were so low where I lived, that the landlord would never charge me!...LOL.
Isaiah!! I tell people all the time about 7/11 in Asia. It's a safe bet, exceptionally clean stores, and delicious food. Great Ramen and noodles, quality, and quantity of choices! For western travelers traveling overseas, it's the Go-to!
I'm the only westerner working at a huge factory here with 5000 Thais (1000 office staff, 4000 factory workers). Most guys who come here never experience anything remotely close to what goes on in Thai culture outside of tourist areas... And it's 100x more fun.
Hey Isaiah, I've been living in Thailand for nearly 10 years now, but I came accross your pressure washing channel a few months ago and have learned a lot about pressure washing from your videos. Are you no longer doing that business? If you're in BKK, it would be cool to chop it up and talk about pressure washing 😂
Would love to see a full video from you about how to stay in Thailand longer - your visa strategy, other strategies, how does an education visa work, etc.
@rusted5408 It is a medium-sized town that is not too much to hold the interest of tourists but is a good central point to El Nido, Port Barton, Underground River, Balabac. Etc. There are downsides here, but I have been here long enough to put in roots, a lot of friends, got a home I like, and feel I fit here. That's why I stay.
Great info. Also, it's great to have a Charles Schwab bank account while traveling, the ATM fees are reimbursed at the end of your statement period, always.
Good tips! I did Phuket for a month on $2000. It's doable. Walk a lot; opt for free and cheap activities with occasional splurge. When in doubt, beer over cocktails or buy ready made can cocktails at 7/11. Lol
I'll tell you something I've been living here for three years I travel all over the world being an airline crew member I'm a young black male from America I have a beautiful girl outside of Bangkok away from the touristy area I literally live with Thai people and they're real culture, it's a whole different ballgame here, you get to understand the Thai culture, not to mention it helped that I studied Buddhism before coming here, that would teach you a lot more about living here, and there way of thinking, you have to throw out your westernize thinking, unless you hang out at the bar girl areas and the nightclubs, no different than hanging out in New York, Miami, $$$ or anywhere else in the world! the Thai people there do not think the same as the people outside the city, 100%! but let me tell you Im literally 30 minutes from the Bangkok, (fun area) people here never go in that area, they have no reason to, they stay in there zone, and keep to themself that's what thai people really do! 95% of the people there is about the money in Bangkok and that's coming from my girl! Foreigner = $ simple! :) and by the way I want to mention I live on $500 a month I have a beautiful one bedroom, a beautiful motorcycle, food, shelter, everything. :)
Living in Thailand sounds really similar to living in Colombia. Even down to the women 😂 I’ve been in Medellin for a year or so and I’m thinking about making a change soon. Thailand’s on my list and I found this video helpful. Thanks!
I also hate the, "How much do I need?" The best response I've heard is that Thailand is EXTREMELY "income-flexible". You can live lavish with monthly expenses over 10k USD. But, I've met locals who still have a roof over their head (with a roommate) and eat well enough for only 10k baht a month.
I've traveled the world for 45 years... flying for the Air Force and Commercial airlines. If there is one thing I learned about women all over the world, if you go out with them and after the first or second or third date, they start asking for money... it's time to move on!!!
Wow 😮honest the best Policy please make a short ebook with your tips and recommendations for USA travelers we need more ppl like you to enjoy the time spent in this wonderful country 😊
100 percent on income stream... You come with just savings and no dividend flow, pension, active revenue source. I predict most will be in trouble in no time, if they are trying to live here.
When i was 18 i went there on a budget and it was the dumbest mistake i made . Want to go back knowing i can make money 7 days a week online . Ive learn alot and believe im on a better path.
First time viewer here! Interesting Isaiah. Have you actually spoken to anyone that's been denied re-entry? Of the many, many videos on Thailand I've watched no one has mentioned this and in fact one of the TH-camrs does a visa run that lasts for less than an hour in another country and returns. He said that was very common. He is also working through an agency that drives people to the border. The drive back and forth takes longer than re-entry process. Isaiah definitely earned a subscribe here...good job!
Get you a Charles Schwab free checking acct, which guarantees the best transfer rates, and reimburses atm fees, lose your card I think they try to get you a replacement in 48 hrs, it pays interest, and "20 seconds in Thailand" has a video on this
In 99% of cases, the visa you're entering Thailand with doesn't allow you to do any kind of work, remote or not, local or not. So, for sure don't snitch on yourself 🤣 Food wise I'd mention that the portions of food are also smaller and a Westerner might have to order more to stay on weight. I personally prefer getting a condo with a kitchen, it pays for itself when you consider the food saving. Drink-wise, I find the budget you mentioned to be excessive. If you drink branded imported spirits, buy shots for everyone or wine is going to cost more, but a shiiiload of SangSom or chang beer won't cost you 100$ dollars per night. In terms of girls, keep in mind that the people you find in Phuket or similar places a lot of the times left their villages and are there because they are money driven. If you're looking for traditional people to date you'd have better luck sticking around in smaller communities networking, letting people know you're planning to stay for a while, learning some Thai, and doing cultural things that the locals do (go to Muay Thai Stadiums, Markets, Temples, motorbike trips, drink with locals, etc..), and some regions like Isaan are more laid back than the islands down south. One thing I'd mention as well is to never ever ever get in an argument with a local or deal with dodgy people. There used to be a website called "FarangDeaths" where they reported all the Westerners that f***d around and find out. Everything considered I love Thailand, but the inability of having permanent residency or 100% ownership of a home or a business is a deal breaker.
Information is soo powerful. Right now, you will have a guy living in a van or storage box, for $1,000 a month, not realising that he could be living like a KING in thailand !

Ok but you need income to pay the cheap rent and food. How you gonna work? Unless you work online.
Nice, very reasonable monthly cost!
thanks for addressing the visa issue. this is a main one in my opinion having lived in Vietnam and Laos but having needed to do regular visa runs
Is this typical for Bangkok? I have about 1500/mo rental income I can rely on. I just worry about unexpected costs and what if you want to travel etc
@@ceeIoc Yes. You can find cheaper monthly rent: less than $200 per month. Other expenses are local transportation costs: $0.60 to $1.10 per subway ride. Travel to and from a nearby country every 2 months to renew your visa is another expense you may have to incur.
and dates? lol

This is very true.
@@Rodderz1market, grocery store, regular shops, etc 😊
@@Rodderz1
If you ask such a question, I'm afraid you'll have a hard time meeting such girls my friend 😅
Honestly, in those places that are listed above, you'll find these regular girls mixed with the "not" regular girls and you'll have no way to tell the difference if girls wear normal outfit
A girl can have a regular job and still mingle with foreigners in orders to extract money from him by telling sob stories when he's away.
If you'd rather avoid this type of girls, then you might need to live there, allow yourself time to observe and look for red flags that you'll come to know by your asking long time expats and by your own experience, and probably by putting effort into learning the language so that you can interact with women that usually don't interact with foreigners or be sinical about it by not telling your new partner that you understand thai so that you might find out if she says good things about you when she speaks with her friend over the phone or in real life, or if she's telling them she doesn't like you and is just trying to finesse you 😂😂😂
I'm not an expert when it comes to Thailand or thai girls.
Is $1400/m passive income for my rent and food and transportation enough? Savings will be well
Could you love with 250kusd savings , and 4k USD a month passive income
@@evandalismEnough.
Includes everything, maybe health insurance too.

BANK: open WISE Bank account before coming to Thailand. You will get a debit card with it, but the point is you will not have to pay ATM charges as you can convert your $$ into baht in a very good exchange rate with minimal commission. MOST RECOMMENDED!
How do I do this please?
Is it better to do with Thai address and phone number. Thank you
Very informative. You are a bright, young man!
I have been living in Thailand for 9 months already and money can go quickly. Especially if you are traveling around Thailand. Since I don’t have a visa, I have to travel outside the country often to get a visa on arrival. I applied for a tourist visa and I got approved. I have to travel to Indonesia and enter back to Thailand using that approved visa. You can apply for a tourist visa even though you are not in the USA. I applied as I was in the USA and I got approved.
Hi, how is the weather there in November please?
@@mashiyamahle-5 hello, it’s always warm in Thailand. November is warm but not to hot. Especially in Chiang Mai. Overall, the weather is perfect to travel around Thailand.
What’s your monthly expenses?
@@ceeIoc to be honest, I don’t have a budget that I need to spend every month. Some months I spend more than other. My regular bills are as follows: 9500thb rent (about 270-290 USD). Electric bill 1500-2500thb (40-70USD). Water 260thb (7usd). Cellphone data 300thb (9usd) high speed internet 300 mbps fiber optic network 9usd per month. Netflix 21usd. Food varies each day about 1000 thb 30 usd. It doesn’t include gasoline for my car or any expenses on the car like tolls or any related expenses. I travel a lot around Thailand driving my car, and so I stay in another hotel for a night or two. All depends on your lifestyle here in Thailand. I don’t drink, smoke or any drugs, that would add up to the expenses. Add massages or girls . All I’m doing is enjoying my young life before is to late. Cheers
@@JUSTVIC95 thanks, the only thing putting me off is the visa situation, plus I would bring my dog. That’s going to be a hassle going in and out for the visa.
I’ve been in Thailand since November and found visa runs to Cambodia affordable. On my last trip, I’ve met others going on visa runs too.
DO YOU GET TIRED FROM RUNNING?
Great information. Thanks for sharing these tips. Location and lifestyle will determine your monthly budget.
I'm 25 and plan on moving to Pattaya Thailand soon. CANT WAIT!!!
Living the dream I'm moving to Thailand in January, don't know about Pattaya though I couldn't control myself 😂😂
oh ya? how's that going to go? You planning on teaching? You living off of a multi-million-dollar inheritance? You have a stable online business that'll never fail? Going to be the next big youtuber who works without a permit? Genuinely curious. There's a lot of places that seem like a better starting point in Asia than Pattaya.

3:58 Western Union is not cheaper than using the ATM. Perhaps you failed to calculate the "Exchange Rate Margin", but if you were to do so, you'd see that your claim is inaccurate.

Great info. Can you talk about the details regarding visas, leaving thailand and going somewhere else and returning? thanks!
Expats were usually more frugal on their spending
I know, it's been over a decade.
I spent most of my military career overseas so I know the game. Thinking about moving to Thailand.
I agree with everything you said! Also living in Thailand for 3 months now, and I found your video very informative and a good picture of the reality here! Just didn’t mentioned the endemic Lady Boys 😅

Magnificent! Bravo! Thank you for blessing us with your story! Thank you for sharing phenomenal advice and wisdom. ❤
Exactly! 🔥
I'm the only westerner working at a huge factory here with 5000 Thais (1000 office staff, 4000 factory workers). Most guys who come here never experience anything remotely close to what goes on in Thai culture outside of tourist areas... And it's 100x more fun.
Could you name some places that are lowkey most tourists wouldn’t know about?
LAGANIN+ YOU SAID A WHOLE LOT ABOUT NOTHING
Hey Isaiah, I've been living in Thailand for nearly 10 years now, but I came accross your pressure washing channel a few months ago and have learned a lot about pressure washing from your videos. Are you no longer doing that business? If you're in BKK, it would be cool to chop it up and talk about pressure washing 😂
You preaching straight facts sir ..

@rusted5408 It is a medium-sized town that is not too much to hold the interest of tourists but is a good central point to El Nido, Port Barton, Underground River, Balabac. Etc. Good tips! I did Phuket for a month on $2000. It's doable. Walk a lot; opt for free and cheap activities with occasional splurge. When in doubt, beer over cocktails or buy ready made can cocktails at 7/11. Lol

Very good information!!!! You are wise!!! I hope the guys will be on guard.
where at? ive lived in asia for 3 years and bangkok is too crowded.
Nice 500$ that’s what I’m talking about. How’s the crime? Healthcare. I worry about that part. I got diabetes..controlled and RA so...yeah😬
Yeah, that question is retarded.

Good advice. I grew up in Thailand then moved to US. I visited Thailand often, but couldn’t live there anymore. A reverse culture shock got me.
Get you a Charles Schwab free checking acct, which guarantees the best transfer rates, and reimburses atm fees, lose your card I think they try to get you a replacement in 48 hrs, it pays interest, and "20 seconds in Thailand" has a video on this
Plus your hotel room looks lovely... I was living in a hut over the sea on the island, no TV, no air con etc but was never happier
Solid advice 💯
It’s so gay and childish when kids say the word snitch grow the hell up lol
