A brief demonstration of why you need two spacers with Ultegra 6700 10 speed cassette on Tacx Shimano 11 speed freehub. This will be true of Dura Ace, Ultegra, and 105 cassettes.
Thank you for posting this video. It was obvious that something was wrong because the bike changed gears while pedaling as the cassette sprockets were not secure. I have a Shimano 10 speed 6700 cassette. Luckily I had a extra spacer to use. Garmin does include some spacers but should add one think enough for this case. Also, the instructions included in the box are really awful.

Hello and thank you for your channel. I have a brand new Neo 2T with an HG800 11 speed and in the documentation they say that I do not have to put the 1mm spacer but only the 2,7mm spacer for brakes. I put the spacer to avoir the braking system touching but it seems that for the HG700 or HG800 you still need a spacer of 1mm or more.... but not on the R7000 or r8000 ? Can you confirm this ? My external rear Derailleur is 1,5cm from the Neo2T and when contacting garmin support they said That I have to put the same spacer as for the brakes 2,7mm which is totally against the documentation...I asked them to confirm this and they did it. So i am bit confused ? Do I need an extra spacer and which one for my HG800 cassette ? Regards. Thanks for any help !
Question! I have an 11 speed triathlon bike and an 8 speed road bike. I have the 8speed cassette on the Tax Neo2T and use my road bike for indoor training. However Ive been wondering if I can swith the road bike for the triathlon bike (both have rim brakes) maintaining the 8 speed cassette. Any thoughts? is it possible?
Frustrating on the one hand to just find this information while searching for hours on the internet and TH-cam, but thanks I guess on the other hand that there is at least some information. My 6700 Ultegra did NOT come with a second spacer, I guess I'll have to go to a local bike shop the next days. Trying it out then

ONE spacer should have come with your cassette, and the other should have come with your Neo 2. Double check the packaging to make sure they weren't just set aside unintentionally. Hi Dean. There are a number of things that can cause this, and while they may seem similar, they have different root origin. The first thing we always ask: did you replace your chain when you installed a new cassette? Mismatched component wear is the #1 cause of "crunchy" and jumpy behavior between the chain and the cassette. Ensure that your lockring is tightened to 40Nm. If you don't have a torque wrench, you should invest in one. 40Nm is very tight. If you are using a QR skewer, make sure it's not over-tightened, as this can throw off the alignment of the hanger cage.
@@TacxFaqx I've got the same issue. At first I was using a (less than 100k) Ultegra cassette with a brand new KMC chain. After over 1000km it was still making the same sounds as OP and mostly in the middle cogs. I have today replaced the cassette and chain with a brand new 105 cassette (with two 1mm spacers behind it) and brand new KMC chain. Locking nut tight to 40Nm and skewer tried at different degrees of tightness just to make sure. Rear derailleur is spot on straight and aligned correctly. I tried tilting the bike to the left and right to see if it made a difference (it didn't). I noticed that the axle adapter on the drive side was loose so tightened that but it made no difference either. If anything, the sound and the vibration has got worse with a brand new cassette and chain. It really is turning what should be a great machine into a very unpleasant experience and at the moment I would find it hard to recommend to others.
You will have received one with your Neo 2, and the second will come with your cassette. Every ten speed cassette will come with one, but you can also purchase one separately if you have misplaced yours. Your local bike shop probably has dozens of them lying around, and may give you one just for asking politely. It's a 1mm spacer.

I needed to put a second spacer behind my SRAM Red 10 speed cassette too, for the same reasons.

Ok, put two spacers on. But i get crazy chainrattle on the middle Sprockets. Any ideas?
