Before I knew I was autistic I saw some of these "exorcisms". I'm fairly convinced that some of them were being performed on other autistics (especially the nonverbal victims) that were going through meltdowns due to sensory overload because there was someone yelling at them which made the meltdown worse which prompted the preacher to increase their intensity which only made it worse for the victims and jut turned into a feaback loop.
Possible. It's only believers that are posessed after all, nonbelievers never act like that or are susceptible to exorcisms... and only ever by demonic presences compatible with their own religious background. Weird, huh?
Yeah, lots of disability awareness people have been pointing out that "demonic possessions" and "exorcisms" were epileptic seizures and people with autism. And the story of changelings is definitely inspired by autistic children. "My child was fine, but then started acting "non-human"" just sounds like a medieval way of explaining "I noticed my child started exhibiting autistic traits and I don't understand it. Must be fairies" On one hand it's interesting how older people explained these things, but on the other hand F*** THEM ALL for using that to abuse people. I have become more aware of these things as I study folklore, and some things just make me truly sad for all the people that had to suffer because of ignorance.
I came up in a Wiccan family and I can 100% confirm that yes, ouija boards are a literal board game by Hasbro and Parker Bros. They're about as supernatural as Candyland. Imagine being a grown adult afraid of Candyland.
@@thephantomeagle2 I mean I wouldn't say I bristle, but I definitely chuckle. Other people being afraid of a toy is funny to me, but I'm not really personally invested enough to bristle as such. I have Tourette's syndrome and my family believed this was demons possessing me as a kid. I appreciate you talking about how traumatizing those "exorcisms" are for both the people watching and the people who have been convinced that they ARE possessed, that shit is the true evil there.
😢im so sorry. I have it, as does my son. His music teacher told me his ts was less medical, & more, "not enough jesus". I was still slightly theistic at that point ‐ rather, 'til that point. I remember a Wicca practitioner informing everyone that since language evolves with the times, "yeet" is a perfectly acceptable word to use while exorcising ill spirits.
As a former Wiccan, I can verify that humor is totally not prohibited in most traditions. Even the founder of Wicca, Gerald Gardner, noted that Wiccans are “consummate leg-pullers”. If the Abrahamic religions had half that sense of humor, they’d be much more bearable, and they’d probably not be hemorrhaging members so badly right now.
My parents were crazy religious and sent me to the exorcist regularly to "get rid of the rage demon" inside of me. It wasn't really all big like the vids shown here. It was more like talking, praying and the guy making me feel guilty for "letting" the demon back in. Turns out I just had an untreated heart problem, where my body was forced to produce insane amounts of stress hormones to keep my heart beating fast enough. And one of the many side effects is impulsivity, sensory issues and irritability... If they just took me to a doctor when they realized something was wrong.
I was 14 when my dad developed schizophrenia. Because we were firm believers in demons, rather that getting him professional help, we took him for an exorcism. I'm now 51 and still have trauma from watching my dad scream and cry for help while he was held down and screamed at for over an hour. Needless to say, the exorcism did not help. He finally went to the hospital, where he stayed for nearly 2 years before he was stable enough to come home.
Most sports derive from pre-Christian societies, but they pick and choose. For example, wrestling is OK though in ancient Greece the wrestlers prayed to the Greek gods and wrestled naked. And probably some ancient culture had their version of American football, and here there are a lot of Christian foot ball players.
I really don't understand it but when my mom and I started stretching, some yoga and some just basic stretches, my grandma freaked out and acted like we were spitting at god and the church. She started praying for us hard core so that we would come back to the faith. Mom and I were so confused. It's just stretching. Lol

I was told the Ouija board became popular because in a repressed society, it allowed people to flirt shamelessly... They didn't say those lewd things, a spirit did!
I have an old high-school atheist bestie who became a reactionary tradcath priest. 6 months ago, he posted about the demonic oiuji boards and I lost my shit laughing.
Don't forget that everyone touching the planchette has already removed the touch barrier along with the flirting, and everyone is in such close proximity.
The scary thing about evangelical Christians is that not only do they force their followers to participate in Christian practices, they force them to have NO individuality, no thoughts, no language, no clothing and no behavior that is outside of the church. Anything can be attacked.
29:30 literally had a friend who was told they're demonic for their physical handicap. Or even me for having panic attacks and depression. Thats whats really evil. Treating people as subhuman because of disabilities or illness.
While i agree with what you're saying, treating people harshly merely because they make one feel uncomfortable *_is_* evil... yet i can't help but wonder why would you link to a timestamp so late in the video? 😕

Having health issues in a Christian community was seriously traumatic. The number of demons supposedly involved in my health issues (that ultimately came out that my health issues were in part caused by the church) was horrible.
I may be telling on my age, I can verify that playing a heavy metal record backwards would summon up a demon back in the 80s. It will possess your mother or father, and screech loudly about "screwing up the record player" and "ruining the needle" while it possesses them and chases you around. I think it's the same demon that ruins your Iron Maiden album at the same time by scratching it.
Oh gosh I remember all that too! Good ol satanic panic.. my church showed all us in the youth group these horrible slide shows too warning is of the “dangers of Satan” terrible things that ofc were shocking to 10 yr old me in pre internet days.. smh.. pure craziness.
I was confronted by my Catholic HS teacher because another student found my King Diamond Abigail cassette. My parents were called and it was a big to do. 😂😂😂😂
After leaving the Jehovah's Witnesses, I got a text from my mom blaming me for what she described as a "demonic dream". I didn't even know where to begin addressing that.
Lol do we have the same mom? Except when I told my mom I wasn’t Christian a few nights later she said she dreamt I was being chased by a demon and I was afraid.🙄
I have a chronic sleep disorder that causes insomnia, or when I can sleep severe nightmares. Every religious person in my life has an explanation (usually blaming me) for why I have nightmares. It's hilarious because the thing they would think is most demonic (good old Mary Jane) is what prevents my nightmares
my mom's evangelical and she also said she had scary dreams involving me. like finding papers with demonic symbols in my room. (she read my diaries once and idk if she ever got over it, she was convinced I was going down a dark path etc, news flash I was a teenager and purity culture had a kind of backfire effect on me)
Fun fact: the Nazar amulet - the blue one with the concentric circles - isn't even "the evil eye". In the traditions from which it originates, it's a charm _against_ the evil eye. The similarity is intentional; setting one eye against another.
Yep! Lebanese American, here, I wear Nazar every day to protect myself, it's an old superstition but it's very pervasive in Levantine Arab culture and it makes me feel very connected to them. The Nazar is often mixed with religious imagery, whether Muslim, Jewish, or Xtian. Definitely not incompatible with G-d.
Nazar at least in Urdu means sight and can be used in terms of giving someone an evil eye intentionally or unintentionally. I could understand why some people would call it the evil eye in that case but it’s meant for protection.
I have epilepsy, an issue I have with that "exorcism" is that if she wasn't an actor, and she wasn't having a mental break from trauma, then she *may* have been having a seizure. Many seizures have been played off as "demons" in highly religious families and groups, especially when they involve babbling or "speaking in tongues". Not all seizures are just shaking on the ground unconscious, and the most harm done to me during a seizure has been from misinformed religious people having this exact reaction
My dad was diagnosed with adhd as a kid. My grandma had him get exorcised bc she believed adhd was demonic work and an exorcism would "cure" him. He is... extremely traumatized by his upbringing, to say the least.
These are the worst - everything they don't like is "demonic", and if you disagree... well, guess what? You're being influenced by *demons* ! 🤦♀🤦♀🤦♀🤦♀
Them: "You're being influenced by demons!" Me: "It's about fucking time! I've been doing everything you guys have been saying to do to attract demons for 30 years, and nothing! Well, what's this one's name?"
As someone who spent my childhood in a church like these, I can tell you that “speaking in tongues” is a truly surreal experience. Looking back as an adult, I can see how we were led to put ourselves into an almost hypnotic state. They would have us repeat these words and sounds repeatedly, until I could feel my jaw muscles starting to jerk, similar to how your muscles do when you have a chill. And as I continued to repeat the words, they became distorted by my jaw quivering, until the now-foreign-sounding words began to come out automatically. I was no longer speaking. My mouth and throat were doing it by themselves. At that point, I was “speaking in tongues”.
speaking in tongues is one of the most frustrating and difficult things that I've had to process since deconstructing. It's comforting to hear others also processing from their experiences.
It's definitely group hypnosis. There's also peer pressure involved because if you can't speak in tongues you're seen as a Christian that doesn't have true faith. Then eventually you follow though with the group mentality and start doing what everyone else is doing to fit in and prove your commitment and faith in Jesus.
Thats terrifying ! I'd hate to feel that I was being manipulated like that to the point of losing my ability to control my own body. As an adult it would be scary enough, but for a child......Holy hell (pun)
I went to a christian convention like this in my early twenties and was in a prayer session amongst an audience of hundred or more people. I think they instructed us to pray out loud in tongues or in regular dialect which ever was comfortable, but once the room gets going you can't help but to speak gibberish along with them... before I knew it I was making animal like mating calls and rolling my tongue, got caught up right in it😅
We went to a church in a barn. There was so much of this. I didn't know I was ADHD until later in life, but they tried doing exorcism weekly for almost a decade for my symptoms, which were basically fidgeting during the 3 hour service, not paying attention, not believing "understanding" what they're saying, and hiding/ meltdowns when they would find me under chairs or the coat pile. They would all lay hands, talk in tongues, screaming, pushing me down, dumping oil on my forehead, and putting a blanket over your head when you'd be forced to the ground. It was so traumatic that I'm just now dealing with it at 40. I left my family no contact 2 years ago. The kindest thing that happened at the church was an older gentleman pulled me aside and told me to call to the floor and start convulsing right away and they'll leave you alone. So that became my strategy every Sunday and almost every Wednesday. They also forced me to get baptized in a sheep dip a few times a year. They said I had a sexual, rebellious demon that would not loose its hold on me. I didn't even know what what sex was when it started. 😢😢😢
My daughter bought an evil eye neckless. Then it all went well, she managed to get free from an addiction and get a job. Those Christians will say «this is from the devil and you will find out eventually» no matter how well it goes for you. Actually it is because of her own hard work and determination she got this far and I`m proud of her ❤
This is an invocation of the post hoc fallacy - it happened after and therefore because of: a favorite of religious fundamentalists, anything “bad” that happens after you do something the faith condemns is because you left yourself open to dark powers and anything “good” that happens when you act in accordance with the faith is a reward from the heavens. Of course, it gets very dicey for them to explain things when the opposite occurs - often resorting to “mysterious ways” type arguments to maintain the cognitive dissonance…
If an ritual has a _negative_ outcome: "Well it was demonic, what did you expect?" If an ritual has a _positive_ outcome: "Well, you sold your soul, so it'll still have a negative outcome AFTER you die." 😂

Fair warning: this is kind of all over the place, but I'm tired and lazy so do with this what you will. I was one of those Native kids that got converted to Christianity at 12. Being the snobby ass 12 year old kid I was, I'd say that Native practices were evil to my own family. the fact that I was so easily swayed by what the church believed, and the fact that I was scared of not being whatever the fuck "God" wanted from me is just blatant brainwashing. I've left the church since and I've been getting back in touch with my nation's spiritual practices. let me tell you, I feel so much safer doing all these so-called "satanic" practices than being god-fearing and obedient to some 2000-year old book.
This is precisely what makes these kinds of Christianity incompatible with free society. And that's not an accident. Where the freedom for others to practice their cultural traditions are fought against as though the rights of the Christian are being attacked. I've been in arguments where the evangelical cannot comprehend that three "right" to oppress others is no right at all.
I am Native and grew up on my tribe's reservation and the white people near where I grew up would say sh!t about being scared of being cursed by Natives and looked down on Natives for their traditional spiritual practices. Also my great great grandmother believed in holistic traditional Indigenous medicine and got berated by white people about it. My great grandfather converted to Christianity and thought negatively about stomp dances and traditional Indigenous beliefs. The elders where I come from would say "you either go to church OR stomp dances, never both" meaning stomp dances and other traditional Indigenous spiritual practices where literally demonized by them because they had been indoctrinated into believing their own Indigenous ancestors' beliefs were wrong and demonic and Christianity was the right way to believe.
90% of “satanic rituals” are just butchered pagan practices. It makes me wonder what actual satanist groups looked like, if they’ve ever really existed.
Yes. These evangelicals are just moving in the same spirit as the witch hunters. Isn’t it tragic they would abuse their own child because of their backward superstition
Im close to someone who is autistic. They underwent exorcism because they were persuaded to believe they had demons. Needless to say it was traumatising and ineffective!
I used to dress as a goth in high school. During that time I also lived with foster parents who were religious. One day we had a bat clinging to the screen of an upstairs window during the day. I was informed that the bat was there because of me and my evil clothing.
that actually made me lol...these ppl call bats demonic but aren't they blaspheming God when they do that. After all, don't they also believe God created bats?
As an atheist who loves tarot cards (I use them for crippling decision anxiety), happy to know I’ve got a lit posse of demons vibing in my home!! 🔥 What a scene.
I started collecting tarot and oracle as a teen to annoy my mother. Now I like them as meditative focus in the morning and to deal with crippling anxiety and decisions. Sometimes I stand up cards representing a quality I need and talk out what's going on like I'm rubber duck debugging my brain with tarot.
Apparently, demons love the way Emma dresses, so I think I should get me some tarot cards. Maybe they can help me find the right stores where I can buy super pretty clothes with my budget. Or perhaps they'll just take my soul for $1000. It's not like I need it for anything; I have a human body. And now I have undeniable proof that a magic 8-ball is not demonic! Use that to pick out an outfit and you'll feel super uncomfortable even before you get laughed at by everyone. Or maybe that's just where the less stylish demons hide. I need to do more research!
@@UlshaRS That's funny! Although the demons wouldn't be the ones confused by the lack of christianity. Since most of the stuff in in religion is recycled from older, "pagan" beliefs anyway.
"Why would a demon be attracted to burning sage, as opposed to say, vanilla-scented candles?" You jest, but one of my relatives banned from their house ALL scented candles because priest in church she attends said they attract demons.
Oddly I work with spirits that traditional Christian’s call demonic … and vanilla would be oddly a good scent… cinnamon and sandlewood seems to work for the gods I work with…
I had a good friend in high school convert to hardcore Christianity because his parents were on drugs and had converted the whole family to get "better". It was a rough experience. He alienated everyone by being judgmental on everything.
That clip of the woman who was “possessed” just hurts. I’ve known people like that, and I know exactly what processes they used to convince that poor woman that she was possessed and wound her up so badly. I hope that she can heal from that and find the support she needs. It’s frustrating to say the least, because they use everything as evidence. Something good happens to people who do a practice? It’s because they are trafficking in demons and the demons are interrupting the actual order of things. Something bad happened? “They had it coming, wearing that crystal like that!!” They believed that psychologists were demon traffickers so obviously a psychologist saying, “Your child is mentally suffering because of what you are doing to them.” Is only confirmation to them. Needless to say, it’s near impossible to try and get them to see sense. Now time to tidy up my crystal collection...
I went on a ghost tour, and at the beginning, something our guide said was, "You've paid to get scared, so we will try to scare you." The first thing that happened when we walked into the building was our guide said "What was that?" And walked off into the darkness, leaving us there for a good two minutes. It was great.
I was going to burn sage to get the bad mojo out of my house, but I accidentally burned oregano instead. Well, I ended up summoning the flying spaghetti monster, but it was cool because he gave me a great Lasagna recipe.
I’ve never understood the concept of crystals being “demonic.” They’re literally just minerals. Yes, they’re used in different religions, but to a non Wiccan/Pagan person they’re literally JUST ROCKS. I don’t understand Christian’s.
I knew a woman who was restrained for an exorcism ritual. She did this voluntarily because she said that she was disturbed by the thoughts that were coming to her and the way her life was headed. This ritual lasted a full night, and a day later she was taken to a mental hospital. She spoke nothing but gibberish for while, and began shaking violently. In the end, it turned out to be withdrawal. When she finally spoke with a psychiatrist, it turned out to be from over a decade of drug and sexual abuse, beginning with group sex with grown men at age 13. Her mother had been extraordinarily religious and punished her in such manner rather than go to authorities. From that, the woman always assumed her troubles always had demons behind them.
Gahdam, that’s one hell of a story! The end is shocking, not surprising though. people stay using supernatural stuff to justify or excuse their awful behavior
I think you ought to try to call it what it is rather than what the men would like you to call it. That way, you don't sound like a misogynist or a pedophile. It's better to explain the situation using the victim's words from the victim's subjective experience. Here's what you should say: The woman was gang-raped as a child of 13 by pedophiles for a decade. This is a form of human trafficking slavery, as all people under 18 cannot consent to child prostitution. The men are the perpetrators and are 100% at fault. The word "rape" should be used rather than "sex" as "rape" is a non-consensual torture done to people using penetration of the victim's vagina, anus, or mouth, by body parts or objects causing the ripping, tearing, bleeding, crushing and excruciating pain of the raped person. The rapist's gender and parts they are using is irrelevant as are the gender and parts that got ripped open in the victim. These men were exploiting her, making the gang-rapes more easy for them to do by drugging her. Her mother supported the gang-rapists due to being a psychotic sadistic narcissist. (It's also possible that her mother was collecting money and was trafficking her daughter to the rapist monsters.) You should never call a gang rape "group sex" as "group sex" is a consensual activity done amongst consenting adults that does not rip people's internal organs to shreds how gang rape does. She now has a functional neurological disorder caused by complex trauma that makes her shake violently. This is on top of her withdrawal from the drugs she was forced to take by the pedophiles. They can still be called pedophiles after she turned 18, because they started raping her when she was still a child. She has to see a therapist to get trauma therapy for her PTSD and functional neurological disorder (most likely psychogenic non-epileptic seizure disorder). I am telling you this out of my own experience of being a human trafficking slave who got trafficked to pedophiles who gang raped me as a baby, child and teen. I always feel invalidated when the people who are describing my experiences to others and they use words of consent such as "group sex" or "sex" or any suggestion that it's my fault I got raped. They should say that I got gang-raped by violent bloodthirsty pedophiles who sometimes drugged me to make it easier to torture me because I would be too tired to kick and bite people as they were tearing my internal organs apart and blood was gushing out of me and I was in excruciating pain at all times. The bleeding also never really stopped. It just went on and on. Sometimes less and sometimes more, depending on their torture of me. So it really is better if you use the proper words like torture and slavery and gang rape, to honor the victim's experience. Stop talking like a pedophile and calling these tortures "group sex." It's rude and insensitive to that victim whose life you are describing and it's rude and insensitive to me and every other survivor. Some of us will get seizures and panic attacks just from you using the wrong words to describe our torture experiences. So don't do this to us. Cease and desist, and use our words. Your words sound stupid.
I remember reading through a list of demons and how to summon them. I was on the porcelain throne and came across one that you only need a bit of poo to summon it. I was all " well here's my offering" as I flush. Well around midnight I heard some really weird noises comming from the bathroom. The next day the city was working in the sewer in my street. Coincidence? Yeah probably...
Im fully convinced that everyone in the same kind of situation as the girl going through the "exorcism" is actually having some kind of a mental health crisis
Uhm ex Christian here. I went through a “deliverance” too. And let me tell you.. you’re right. I was mentally groomed days prior and I believed there was something evil in me. I looked to Christian content and what they described as demonic I saw in myself so I thought I had something evil in me. Long story short I decided to fast (not eat) that week. I was hungry and dehydrated. Then I went to a deliverance service and the worship team set a hypnotic atmosphere (repetitive words, closed eyes, soft instruments in the background). And when the pastor yelled at ‘the spirit in me’ to get out I started screaming and kicking uncontrollably. It felt like I was in a trance.. I was aware of what was going on but I had no way of controlling it. All I know for sure is this: I allowed it. I was convinced there was an evil spirit in me. I was mentally and physically primed (I had not been eating so I was weak) for me to fall victim to this. A year later and I’m not a Christian anymore, I got the diagnosis that I’m bipolar and I’m on treatment and I’m going to therapy. I feel better than ever.

My dad is an extremist Catholic. Used to make us pray every night "to help stay together". I stop believing pretty much as soon as I learn high school Philosophy class. Last time we prayed together he calls us in the living room, asks all nicely to read a prayer with us without showing it first. It's like 10 mins long. It's just a series a promises to love God and avoid demons. Then it gets to refutations. Starts listing ouija, seances, psychics, witchcraft, etc. Then it gets into tarot, yoga, astrology, santeria, and voodoo. I stop responding and start rolling my eyes. Then the cherry on top. It says to refute crystals. A rock formation that God created is demonic because some people think they're magic. I audibly chuckle while he continues reading it. Prayer ends. I turn to him, shaking my head, and say "I'm not saying that now or ever again, that was ridiculous." He says nothing in return. I moved out like a month later. He got us to pray to stay together but his stupid prayer was probably the last nail in the coffin of me politely practicing with him to avoid a confrontation.

@@gogudelagaze1585 to be fair, Yoga is originally not just stretching exercises, that's Westernized, commodified Yoga. Yoga is originally a Hindu spiritual practice that is far more ritualized and has a lot of spirit-medicine elements. It is effective as an exercise but almost no Yoga poses are unique to it, lots of martial arts warm up with them. It's the spiritual lore and aspects that made it Yoga. Still, the idea that Christians can't practice even the commodified version is obscene. Not as obscene as decrying crystals, but obscene.
The Satanic Panic never went away. Remember the lady who tried to convince people that Monster energy drinks were demonic? Here's a short list of the things my parents were scared of because they might attract demons: Troll Dolls The Wizard of Oz The Disney film, Aladdin Pokemon The Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers I shit you not. I was scared for an embarrassingly long time of the supernatural. One of the benefits of becoming a skeptic that no one tells you about--no more nightmares! Once you realize it was all bullshit, it's so embarrassing to admit that you were ever afraid of it.

The religious objections to Pokemon were fairly well-known (the others, not so much). schmoyoho even "songified" that. Curiously enough, I was perfectly fine with portrayals of literal demons in media, but not with portrayals of angels, because that always felt a bit too much like blasphemy (at least in the types of things I watch).
Hmm native American here 👋 my tribe had the nickname "the praying indians" we smudge with sage constantly. Granted most of us got wiped out by Christian settlers that feared our ways, even though we believe in the creator (god) well I don't 😂😂 but you get it.
This makes me think about what it is that's "demonic" exactly. It can't be the objects themselves, like the incense or whatever. I think what's really "demonic" is simply "doing something different". These guys wouldn't call incense burning demonic if you said you were burning incense for Jesus. It's the whole idea of partaking in any culture that isn't Christian culture that freaks these guys out.
That's orthodoxy and fundamentalism for ya. Holy communion is ritual cannibalism in remembrance of a human sacrifice. Easter is from the pagan tradition of Spring equinox. Even the trinity predates Christianity with the triune goddess. They plagiarized all the surrounding traditions then 'demonized' those original traditions they appropriated.
@@crowdemon_archives And the comical part, is that Christians don't even follow the word of "god", or the bible. They just pick out parts they like, and ignore everything else in it.
As an Ojibwa person myself(native american), I've seen many natives smudge for various reasons and i learn a new reason any time i meet a new native from another tribe/ family. My Cree ex's household would smudge any time there was a bad storm, and in my own personal life I would smudge to get rid of bad energies when im in a bad mood, or id also capture the smudge smoke of sage, sweet grass and cedar in my braid when while braiding my hair. Its common practice for native peoples to remain in a good mood and have good thoughts while braiding themselves or others(Usually family or loved ones) so they can keep those good vibes with them throughout their day because those good vibes/intentions are in their braid. (Each of the 3 braids representing Mind, Body, and Soul) and is the connection to the creator, longer the braid means the stronger the connection, sort of like an antenna lol. Plus you smell great after a good smudge, js. loved the video!
I love that every religious practice outside of their specific Christian denomination’s practice is somehow inherently not only evil but connects to their specific denomination’s interpretations of satan
Yeah, like, why can't alternative religions than their own just be like... fake? Why does burning sage HAVE to be demonic? Why can it not just be some plant that smells weird when it burns? Why does yoga HAVE to be a satanic ritual? Why can it not just be some kinda stretching exercise that just makes people feel good? Why can't tarot just be some silly little card game? Like, for the Christian god being all powerful, they make Him out to be really fucking lazy compared to the devil. Satan's out here diversifying his assets across hundreds of different religions across the world, and all God has is the one book that he hasn't made a new edition of in over a thousand years?
@@michaelk9279 just like anything there are radical people telling people to do way more than what you should. Essentially just lying and taking the scripture out of context. I think that tik tok is just a tool for bullshit. Burn your sage the idea of cleansing your home and your energy is understandable. It’s just a Belief. I’m a Christian and I try to go church when I can so does my family. All these things are a belief system. I believe my god behaves a certain way and like others have been saying other religions also believe there god behaves in a certain way. Easier to excuse doing horrific things to indigenous people groups when you make out that they're demon worshippers and therefore evil, so you have to "save" their kids from their demonic ways by putting them in boarding schools where a lot of them will be abused/starved/neglected to death. It makes a disturbing amount of sense when you see it through the lens of colonialism. It's all about dehumanizing the other so you can take their children, land, and resources.
As a 5-6yr-old, I was forced to stand on stage in a basement church made of those same nutjobs that screamed & babbled like crazy, falling victim to mass delusion & willful lunacy. I was made to stand on stage, with just a handful of adults, who held my shoulders & put nasty oil in my hair & waited like I was supposed to produce some prophecy of the rapture, which my parents were obsessed with. I was so terrified, I peed myself & was traumatized of any & all public speaking or being on stage...
What a horrible account of child abuse. I hope you get better and these people are reported, sentenced and put into jail. They don't stop doing this kind of abuse on their own (because they do not recognize it!), but the deeds keep getting worse and worse.
If you guys call this abuse you are the real nut jobs here! I know some religious people are not genuine in faith, but you can't go around calling everything abuse! This generation is weird but the first to call out adults just because they can't give respect to other people's beliefs.
@Mari Sela Buddy, you fell off the hayride wagon on the way to your weekly Sunday School brainwashing class! Do you need help, because you're obviously in the wrong place! 😂
I went to a christian high school, and while most teachers could get theough a lesson professionally, I had one math teacher who was always stopping class to talk about demons. One time she told the story of a girl she was "helping" with her sporitual problems who was trying to throw her ouija board away but every time she put it in the dumpster it would "mysteriously" show back up in her apartment. 😒 Great use of classtime.
Why is that always the story? We had these really scary books when I was a kid. They came in a 3 box set & I used to read them all the time and be so scared. One day I came home and my parents had bought the box set. I didn't sleep good for like, a whole year! I did wind up getting rid of it or growing out of it. I never had any weird experiences trying to throw it out though. That's just such an old story! We grew up on that and bloody Mary in the mirror... 😂😂
As a teen I once had Sporitual problems. Sprayed all my mildewy windowsills with a solution of bleach and water, they went right away.... Like "Magick".
What a miserable existence it must be to live your life fearful of demonic signs everywhere you go. I kinda feel sorry for anyone caught up in that conspiracy mindset.
@bonbon-pp6gpgreat comment, honestly. As a Christian it makes zero sense to be worried about demons. I totally believe they exist and are active, but if you literally believe that the Creator of EVERYTHING has your back, why would you be worried about silly demons? It's illogical.

He genuinely would believe and see people as being demons even his own family members and say we were being controlled by the devil. These thoughts would come and go though for years he could be completely fine and suddenly they'd show up again. I now know it's religious delusions he has during manic episodes but it was terrifying to witness my father say those things, especially as a child because I couldn't comprehend how mental illness worked.
I went to a private Christian elementary school and distinctly remember my teacher going on an unhinged rant about how anything with skull or skeletal imagery was demonic. I cried when I got home because even then, I loved skulls and thought they were cool. I bawled my eyes out at the idea of having to give away my skelanimals plushie. Right now, I am a nursing student and artist, and one of my favorite things to paint are skulls. Skeletons have become a major part of my life and I would love to know what the teacher would think if she saw me now

I remember the first time I went to my grandmother's pentecostal church and having 0 idea of what awaited me. The moment the prayers started being spoken a woman began speaking in tongues and I, someone who had never seen anything like that and only ever heard the phrase speaking in tongues, was legitimately horrified. I thought she was having a stroak or some sort of seizure and couldn't speak and no one was helping her. It didn't take long for me to realize what was happening as an adult but I can't even imagine the level of terror a kid has to experience with that sort of upbringing.

Before fully deconstructing a "concerned family member" set me up with a Christian counselor. Said counselor told me during one of our four sessions that doing yoga one time would immediately bring demon possession on to a person. I asked a few questions, basically leading up to "if i admit I've done yoga a lot will you try to have me exorcised" and the answer was yes. If i had admitted to doing yoga she would have called her husband in to immediately exorcise me. Thankfully i was already beginning my deconstruction journey and knew to not admit to doing yoga. She also said though that she and her husband could both sense the presence of demons in people so... yeah i think I'm ok
Right. I think that (some) Evangelical Christians' fear of yoga and even meditation has to do with racism/cultural superiority. Never were we taught that *we* had something to learn from other cultures or religions. It was only ever supposed to go the other direction (evangelizing "Them.") Yuk.
I think my mother was a practitioner of The Dark Arts. She grew sage in her garden and at a particular time of the year she would sacrifice a hen, take some sage from her Witches garden and chop it up with some onions.... Hang on... Sorry, that's christmas isn't it? Oops.
I appreciate your language "those kind of intense beliefs that do cause harm" Anecdotally: I am a PK [Preachers Kid] and When I was much younger, and struggling in school, having moved from Indiana [where my father had a church/ ministry] back to Georgia. It was a big change in school systems, where the focus of various disciplines was very different. I was behind in basic Math skills at the time due to the change. My parents answer was not that I had changed school systems, and having to adapt to that change. It wasnt to get me help with those changes... no... they decided that Prayer is what I needed... and when that didnt work... they didnt try outside scolastic help, or spend time with me to explain things in a different way... Demonic posession and devils must be the cause and of course I needed to have an Exorcism... Not ony did this do nothing to help, but was terribly traumatic. A terible experience that has stuck with me for nearly 40 years. Religion is harmful.
As a Christian, I apologize for these types. Some people miss the mark entirely when it comes to how we're supposed to treat others with love and kindness.
:D I love the guy describing demons! They often pick the most standard ideas to call twisted. When there's sci-fi artist who've made centipede bodies that twist around itself to imitate human form with long fibrous hairs searching for its next meal, that's far more horrifying than 'Horned Goat Man'
Having grown up in a fanatically religious Christian family and being naturally left handed I can assure you that they do believe it is demonic and evil.
Sorry you had to put with this. Most of my family is crazy religious, and about half of us are left handed. Luckily, the religious ones never took on the sinister left-handed belief. Maybe the lefty ratio was too high.
My Nephew had a Ouija board! He never even used it for anything spiritual. However, he did complain regularly about hearing unexplainable noises in his house. He rented a small from me in my backyard. He sometimes thought he heard people walking around outside or heard stuff being moved in the house. His mother, my older sister (who's devoutly Catholic), was sure it was demonic activity as a result of the Ouija Board being in the house. However, one thing she has always failed to consider is that my nephew has severe Post Traumatic Stress due to sexual abuse he suffered as a child. And for which he has never been able to counseling. Also we live in rural area so any "foot steps" he heard outside could've just been an animal. Or the scariest possibility, IT COULD'VE BEEN ME😱😱😱 as I I have to let my dog outside to go potty every night, and I do sometimes have to walk around back there.
I remember talking to someone once who was trying to tell me demons were going to infect my soul if I kept listening to rock music. I told them basically that not only did I not know anyone who was infected with demons from listening to rock music, I really didn't believe that was a thing. They said, "Well, that's why you can't see them, you don't believe they exist!". Thanks for giving me incentive to believe even less. 🤣🤣🤣
So demons are like that one martial arts master. If you don't believe in their bullshit they can't do anything to you. Seems like being religious would be what makes you vulnerable to their infernal machinations in that case. You should warn that person.
Listening to the guy talk about throwing out your sage for fear of demons reminded me of something that happened when I was in middle school, around age 13. I had a female friend from school that was toying with Wicca. She let me borrow a guidebook or something because I was interested. I went home, read it, even tried to make a homemade wand to do my own spells. I went to church over the weekend because my grandmother always made us go on Sundays. I was so guilt ridden from just listening to the religious garbage that they were telling us that I went home and threw the book away in fear. I never mentioned the book to my friend, but I assume she just figured I liked it and kept it without asking.
Emma you are healing years of religious trauma by talking about these topics in a light and funny way. Thank you.❤️ I grew up in a super religious home and they think there’s a demon behind everything. Because of that I grew up being scared of everything, especially being alone. I couldn’t even go to the bathroom by myself until I was in high school. I was scared of interacting with people. This kind of content does more harm than the things they’re warning us about lol.
It's basically raisimg children inside a horror movie plot. I still have to check myself, particularly when my kid does some kind of "demonic" behaviour like hissing like our cat when ther upset. Best of luck with your recovery and future. XOXO

I legitimately have a Ouija board serving tray. I got it from HomeGoods, lol. I don't actually use Ouija boards because I know the history of their invention (you are 100% correct that it was all marketing, specifically by men to exploit and mock female spiritualists) but the idea of serving guests tea on a Ouija board is absolutely hilarious to me.
Demons aren't attracted to vanilla-scented candles. That's ridiculous. It's those nasty candy floss scented ones that summon them. *shudder* Also, love the ouija serving tray idea! - Another note: sage is originally from indigenous practices & many of us witches are moving away from using it because we don't want to appropriate their culture (unless they are indigenous), so we tend to use other herbs like lavender instead. Good witches do their homework.
Indigenous people don’t own sage. Burn it if you want, it’s a nice sensation that takes nothing away from indigenous people. You’re just trying to signal being a good person while doing nothing that hurts or helps.
I'm gonna be real, worrying about "cultural appropriation" in terms of what herb you're going to burn is just... you're admitting it's purely a ritual for ritual sake. Why does it matter which herb you burn? Seriously, what harm could that possibly be doing?
The live action “Scooby Doo” film played with that concept - creating training videos for supernatural beings possessing human bodies giving them (really bad) instructions on how to blend in with modern teenagers.
I'm a 34 year old member of the Osage nation in Oklahoma in the U.S. we didn't have sage growing in our area so for ceremony we burned dried cedar in a bowl and used a beaded hand fan made of hawk feathers to spread the smoke. Depending on the region different native tribes used local fragrant plants for smudging, if they did smudge. I think sage specifically got picked up during the 60's and 70's during hippie movements out west, where sage brush grows naturally.
Just a fun fact: Sage is one of the most popular herbs in dentistry, as it targets pain, inflammation, and bad breath, as well as exerts antibacterial and wound-healing properties. Applied to the skin, sage has vulnerary (wound-healing), antimicrobial, and astringent properties that support the body's natural healing processes Sage has been used forever, like cannabis (the devils lettuce) as media personalities need scapegoat excuses, they spread negative ideas (like coining a useful herb as demonic) But basically same as the witchhunt but for useful natrual objects because their bible (or any of the other abrahamic religions texts) isnt good enough to describe any objects with accuracy, we dont know what a demon or malicious spirit or a spirit even existing looks like, but they expect their followers to blindly take their ideas on hearsay & fear of supposed supernatural entities noone has ever found solid proof on, its a last ditch attempt to make their religion "popular" by lying to the face of millions, being that its okay if everyone else does it
Hi Emma, Another lovely video, thank you! This one strikes close to home; I was brought up in a Jehovah's Witness family, who believed demons were very real and always looking for opportunities to break through the protection afforded by a Christian household. A common expression when I expressed an interest in any reading material, art, or toys deemed to be 'worldly' was "that will let the demons in!", and it was meant absolutely seriously. I eventually stopped believing this, as , in the immortal words of the Vampire Lestat, "You keep saying that and it keeps not happening.", but for several years as a very young child, I lived in real and daily fear of demonic attack!
I had a similar experience except sin instead of demons. For probably the first 8-10 years of my life, I was deathly afraid of sin and the way God was described as omnipotent/omnipresent etc. scared the crap out of me. I felt like I was walking on thin ice all day.
Husband was bought up JW. He had literal nightmares about the devil and the depths of fiery hell. I call that child abuse. I’m so sorry for your upbringing, I know too well the pain it causes and the deconstruction needed.
Hello Emma, really love listening to you. I'm first nation and I want to thank you for mentioning the origin of smudging. I'm old enough to have been drowned in Christianity when I was younger (living in a reservation) and got rid of it when I was old enough to chose what I believed in. I do not pray, but I smudge often, the ritual sooth my mind. It's sacred for us, may we be atheist or very spiritual. Seeing it becoming a trend for new age stuff or worst a target of religious fanatics feels incredibly bad. Thank you.
Not quite related to the whole video, but you caught me with talking about smudging at the start. When my parents were going through a nasty divorce, my mother's friend (a "psychic" / spiritual consultant / general loonie) was asked to smudge the house by my mother, desperately trying anything. Now, be me : Just turned 20, pretty agitated by life's goings-on at the time, playing video games by myself in my bedroom. This woman opens my door and walks in unannounced with a bowl of burning sage. I ask her, "....Wwwhat are you doing?" She replies, "I'm smudging your house to help get rid of any negative energy." I then informed her, "You're going to have a LOT of negative energy to get rid of if you don't leave my room RIGHT now." xD It must've been a top 10 angry moment in my life lol, to the point that nearly 10 years after, I wouldn't allow the woman go to my mother's funeral for taking advantage of her during an emotionally difficult time. Edit: Just got to the bit where you called psychics demonic. Fucking. Queen.
I've had religious relatives tell me "this is evil, that is demonic". But they can never tell me why or how when I ask. They just keep repeating the same thing like it was something they rote memorized and never actually asked themselves.
I can reliably interpret ecstatic utterance, or ‘speaking in tongues’. That woman in the exorcism was saying the following: “I demand to see the manager”
As a indigenous woman i really don't like that they think that we're summoning demons like you said we're just trying to get rid of bad energy. And side note plenty of Christian natives still smuge and use the lords prayer
Literally!!! There's a lot of mi' kmaq people where I live and smudging is something that's done before and after so many ceremonies, and community/cultural events. I work for a school board cleaning and as a way to address that we're all on mi'kmaq territory and lands we have community leaders come in and talk and share information with us about the spiritual significance of smudging, the historical context and then usually give a demonstration as well as offer to smudge and bless us at least once or twice a year. It's just a reminder that we're technically on their land and to be respectful of the people and culture and religion that was here first. How anyone could take an offer to be smudged as any thing other then a kindness, is wild to me. And to call is demonic is even wilder, especially since indigenous spirituality has been around waaaaaaaaay longer then anything resembling the Christian faith.
The guy at 11:47 describing his 23 minutes in Hell is actually acquaintances with my dad, because he came to their church to give a guest presentation once. And my dad gave him my number and had him personally call me to try to convince me to change my ways, after I came out to my parents (as a bi, trans atheist, a triple whammy) The guy was perfectly friendly but man, he really drank the juice. Told me that he'd had countless people come up to him crying about how they'd started transitioning and regretted it, and their family or friend had taken them to see his talks and such. When I pointed out that the kind of people whose family and friends were religious enough to go to his talks probably didn't have a good support network, and that lack of social support is one of the number one reasons trans people are unhappy and detransition, he didn't have a ready response. I wish him well if he truly believes this stuff. If he's a grifter, not so much.

Emma! Your capacity for empathy and to distinguish between harmful and harmless is so comforting and refreshing. Sometimes I got the feeling the Christians around me simply felt threatened by religious practices that were actually proactive. Actual rituals you participate in. I felt constantly they wanted us to remain passive and frozen until someone told us what to do. It was boring. Excruciatingly boring.
I’m with you on that: mainstream religions don’t doubt the efficacy of other religions, they just want a monopoly on religion and they throw a hissy fit if they don’t get their way.
Then I'm sorry to tell you you didn't experience biblical christianity. God is the epitome of being proactive. When Jesus walked the earth, everywhere He went, devils were cast out, the sick were healed, impossible miracles happened. When you walk with Jesus you get to live out this stuff and I can honestly say that no other demon or power comes close to walking in the love of Jesus. There's one thing all those other "paths" or "powers" cannot do and that is to set you free from sin. That is the greatest miracle is to become a son or daughter of the most high God and to walk in His ways.

I recently inherited a tree necklace from my great grandmother, to whom I was very close to, and hearing that one girl talk about the tree of life actually brought me a sense of peace. It may not have been what she intended, but she did help someone with that tiktok.
Isn't the "tree of life" thing related to the "8 aspects of God" from the Kabbalah? Aka biblical apocrypha? It can also refer to the LITERAL tree of life in the bible that gives immortality granting fruit that was adapted into many mythologies such as Norse and Greek or the World Tree from Norse mythology. So definitely not satanic. If anything it's a CHRISTAIN symbol.
@@ace..of..hearts_they-them_ Older than Kabbalah, definitely, but the Torah (the original 5 books of Bible) was either written around 1220 BCE in the theory that the biblical Moses wrote the Torah or around 550 BCE in the theory that the majority of the OT was written during the babelonian exile. Some of the earliest records of Greek Mythology are from Homer's Illiad and The Odyssey which was written between 720 BCE and 680 BCE. Therefore, depending on which theory you subscribe to on when the bible (at least the OT/Torah) was written, the bible could be older or younger than the earliest recorded records of greek mythology. Norse Mythology is MUCH younger, only being officially written down 1220 CE by Snori Snowenson, a Norwegian christian monk. The "true Norse mythology" has been completely lose to time, as the only surviving records of Norse Mythology are in the Eddas and various pop culture based on them, with both Eddas being written by clearly incredibly biased christain monks in the middle ages. We don't actually know how much of the mythology as told by Snori is what the vikings actually believed and what was made up or embellished by Snori to push some sort of message or theme. Therefore, the Norse mythology we know is practically fanfiction from Snorri as the Norse only wrote down small fragments of their stories in runes that have never been translated, similar to Egyptian hieroglyphs before the Rosetta Stone was discovered. TLDR: -The Torah, the first 5 books of the bible, was written in either 1220 BCE or 550 BCE, making the original scriptures either 3244 years old or 2546 years old based on what theory you subscribe to. -The actual, finished bible was fully completed and compiled from 50 CE to 100 CE, making the finished work between 1970 years old to 1920 years old. -Greek Mythology can potentially be older than the bible, with the earliest surviving records being Homer's Illiad and Odyssey which were written between 720 BCE and 680 BCE. This makes Greek Mythology at the earliest 2744 years old to 2704 years old. This makes Greek mythology in comparison to the Torah either 500 years younger or 178 years older. So they're pretty close. -In terms of the completed Bible, Greek Mythology is around 775 years older. -Norse mythology is significant younger than both, it's first recorded instance being in 1220 CE, which is over 1100 years after the bible was COMPLETED. 1220 CE was only 804 years ago while the Torah was written either 3244 years ago or 2546 years ago which first introduced the concept of "the tree of life." Therefore, the bible is the oldest record of the tree of life, especially when the concept was only added to Greek Mythology upon the addition of the Hercules myth which was mostly developed by the Romans.
The uniquely Christian thing is to add another tree maybe, that Eve was bound to eat from... And then apparently, blame anyone, but the designer? Also, it was shown as a real possibility, that she and Adam would eat from the tree of life: And thus become... nearly unstoppable?@@KrimsonKattYT

There’s this scene early in Good Omens (by Sir Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaimen) where 3 demons meet up and discuss the evil they’ve done. Ones like “oh I’ve made it so in 7 years time this women will be one of ours,” and the others like “oh I’ve put doubt in a priests heart so in 3 years he’ll fall.” But the third is kinda happy with himself cause he cause the stoplights at a major highway to get messed up, causing hour long delays. The two older demons just can’t understand why he’d bother, and he knows they’ll never understand that those humans caught in the delays will spread their anger and frustration to others, inflicting hellish taint to the souls of countless people. Which after reading that as teen I’ve never been able to take demonic possession stories seriously. Like really, the demon is wasting years on this stuff one single soul? It’s just nonsense when you think about it, even from a theological perspective.
I also love the Mwhat'sit being a giant demonic sigil, with the people sitting there in their cars during rush-hour, cursing at all the other drivers around them, creating endless amounts of free demonic energy. :D
Reminds me of the portrayal of the Devil in an old series (Brimstone, I think?) in which he was talking to someone else in some random bedroom, and he proceeds to just take a book from a bookshelf and remove random pages from it before casually putting it back in its place.
I've been told by some person while I was shuffling cards to make sure that those should never be Tarot cards, jokes on her, in my bag next me is my Tarot deck, which I have done a few readings for myself at my job as well. Cause why not?
Before I knew I was autistic I saw some of these "exorcisms". I'm fairly convinced that some of them were being performed on other autistics (especially the nonverbal victims) that were going through meltdowns due to sensory overload because there was someone yelling at them which made the meltdown worse which prompted the preacher to increase their intensity which only made it worse for the victims and jut turned into a feaback loop.
That's so sad. Its cruel, and traumatic for sure.
Exorcisms have absolutely been used to justify the abuse and murder of neurodivergent and neurospicy people.
Possible. It's only believers that are posessed after all, nonbelievers never act like that or are susceptible to exorcisms... and only ever by demonic presences compatible with their own religious background. Weird, huh?
That's so horrifying and sadly not surprising
Yeah, lots of disability awareness people have been pointing out that "demonic possessions" and "exorcisms" were epileptic seizures and people with autism.
And the story of changelings is definitely inspired by autistic children. "My child was fine, but then started acting "non-human"" just sounds like a medieval way of explaining "I noticed my child started exhibiting autistic traits and I don't understand it. Must be fairies"
On one hand it's interesting how older people explained these things, but on the other hand F*** THEM ALL for using that to abuse people. I have become more aware of these things as I study folklore, and some things just make me truly sad for all the people that had to suffer because of ignorance.

Most sports derive from pre-Christian societies, but they pick and choose. For example, wrestling is OK though in ancient Greece the wrestlers prayed to the Greek gods and wrestled naked. And probably some ancient culture had their version of American football, and here there are a lot of Christian foot ball players.

Definitely not incompatible with G-d.
yeah its very stupid that the general way its referred to in America is as the evil eye.

That shiza sounds terrifying 😮

They are surely right that there is a demonic force plaguing our society at the moment. It's the Epidemic of Stupid.
And they have a fallacious answer for everything.
Condescension is basically all some of them have.
My daughter bought an evil eye neckless. Then it all went well, she managed to get free from an addiction and get a job. Those Christians will say «this is from the devil and you will find out eventually» no matter how well it goes for you.
Actually it is because of her own hard work and determination she got this far and I`m proud of her ❤
It's really an anti-evil eye amulet. If it helps her, that's what matters. Props to her on her recovery!
If an ritual has a _negative_ outcome: "Well it was demonic, what did you expect?"
If an ritual has a _positive_ outcome: "Well, you sold your soul, so it'll still have a negative outcome AFTER you die."

I’ll take, “exactly what happened for all of Colonial History,” for 1000, Alex…

That's incredibly sad yet understandable. My parents still think I'm Christian.

It's weird, people freak out over the Ouija board...but the magic eight ball gets a complete pass.

I was scared for an embarrassingly long time of the supernatural. One of the benefits of becoming a skeptic that no one tells you about--no more nightmares! Once you realize it was all bullshit, it's so embarrassing to admit that you were ever afraid of it.
Oh, you left off Dungeons & Dragons and AC/DC, both of which are currently at the height of their popularity.
Energy drinks are bad for your health, so perhaps she had a point
I grew up in an American-style Christian homeschooling cult-ish, and I can add:

Cabbage Patch Dolls

Norse mythology
Fairy tales with witches
The religious objections to Pokemon were fairly well-known (the others, not so much). schmoyoho even "songified" that.

I can also add Scooby Doo to that list.
Literally anything that doesn't follow their specific ideas can be considered demonic.
You are right. It's a false religion to them. Couldn't watch the 1987 TMNT because Splinter meditated 🙄

Just a fun fact:
Sage is one of the most popular herbs in dentistry, as it targets pain, inflammation, and bad breath, as well as exerts antibacterial and wound-healing properties.
Applied to the skin, sage has vulnerary (wound-healing), antimicrobial, and astringent properties that support the body's natural healing processes
Sage has been used forever, like cannabis (the devils lettuce) as media personalities need scapegoat excuses, they spread negative ideas (like coining a useful herb as demonic)
But basically same as the witchhunt but for useful natrual objects because their bible (or any of the other abrahamic religions texts) isnt good enough to describe any objects with accuracy, we dont know what a demon or malicious spirit or a spirit even existing looks like, but they expect their followers to blindly take their ideas on hearsay & fear of supposed supernatural entities noone has ever found solid proof on, its a last ditch attempt to make their religion "popular" by lying to the face of millions, being that its okay if everyone else does it

Thank you.
It's not even new in new age. It's been around in "new age" since at least the 60s or 70s. You're late to the party.
@@silververnallbells191 No need to be rude
Also there’s a nuance between « having been there a long time » and « increasing in popularity lately ».
I ask her, "....Wwwhat are you doing?" She replies, "I'm smudging your house to help get rid of any negative energy." I then informed her, "You're going to have a LOT of negative energy to get rid of if you don't leave my room RIGHT now." xD
It must've been a top 10 angry moment in my life lol, to the point that nearly 10 years after, I wouldn't allow the woman go to my mother's funeral for taking advantage of her during an emotionally difficult time.
Prime example of having higher-ups and ideologies do the thinking for them instead of using their own brain...
I can reliably interpret ecstatic utterance, or ‘speaking in tongues’. That woman in the exorcism was saying the following: “I demand to see the manager”
Prime interpretation!!!! 😂😂😂😂
Thank you😂
The guy at 11:47 describing his 23 minutes in Hell is actually acquaintances with my dad, because he came to their church to give a guest presentation once. And my dad gave him my number and had him personally call me to try to convince me to change my ways, after I came out to my parents (as a bi, trans atheist, a triple whammy)
The guy was perfectly friendly but man, he really drank the juice.
This guy confuses me so much too. If he’s such a good, wonderful Christian, why was he in Hell?

Emma! Your capacity for empathy and to distinguish between harmful and harmless is so comforting and refreshing. The following might be amusing (but was terrifying when I was growning up in a fundamentalist church): "If you've a ouija board in your house and have felt no ill effects, it's because you already belong to Satan - he's lulled you into a false security." Heads-I-win-tails-you-loose sort of logic. A young child can't fight against this kind of argument, and it is truly where the evil resides (a cultish manipulation with fear). If you are scared, you'll do what I say. If you're not scared, that's a sign that you should be really scared.
I've done this back to believers and they didn't get it.

Sometimes I got the feeling the Christians around me simply felt threatened by religious practices that were actually proactive. Actual rituals you participate in. I felt constantly they wanted us to remain passive and frozen until someone told us what to do. It was boring. Excruciatingly boring.
I think you figured out religion.

You nailed it. Their entire take on anything not their religion is: "Demons! Demonic! Evil!"
Yeah - “The Smurfs” are demons, “Troll” dolls are demons, “Power Rangers” are demons, etc…
Anything the church leaders don’t like = demons.
I get a lot of side-eye from people around me at my ever-growing collection of Daoist charms. It's hilarious how much fear they live in while claiming God protects them from all.

That shit with the person having a psychotic breakdown made me so fucking pissed and man, I'm crying now. I hate the absolute disrespect of people going through a traumatic experience for it to be instead patronized being demons or some other nonsense.
"Any supernatural idea that my brand of Christian faith hasn't appropriated is demonic." I've reproduced the message of every TikTok watched here in a single sentence. lol
Wicca is literally just built from appropriation and is a combination of practices of brown people from literally all over the world invented by a deeply racist and antisemitic man in 1948. Google Gerald Gardner.
As a pagan, thank you so much for doing this video! I am sick of people not accepting any other religions as valid, except their own.
Ps:
I don’t think Christians even realize that Hinduism and paganism came before their religion either, they’re right and that’s that. Lol
Chakras are not demonic. We all have them even Christians. Their God created chakras or energy centres. Blessed be.
Right because your imaginary beings are the real ones and not the ones dreamt up by paranoid schizophrenics in other places. Pathetic.
Well, no religion is valid. They are all wives' tales. All I care about is wives' tails!
Same here! Paganism is FAR older than christianity and there is proof of when the devil was invented by christians. That's right, the devil did not exist in early christianity.

I wish I had a fraction of the confidence of the TikToker who thought the concept of "the evil eye" was the same as the evil eye symbol. 🌝
@@KrimsonKattYT Norse and Greek mythology are older than the Bible, but the tree of life is a pretty universal symbol.
TLDR:
-The Torah, the first 5 books of the bible, was written in either 1220 BCE or 550 BCE, making the original scriptures either 3244 years old or 2546 years old based on what theory you subscribe to.
Also, it was shown as a real possibility, that she and Adam would eat from the tree of life:
And thus become... nearly unstoppable?@@KrimsonKattYT
