They need to stop making modern day references in futurama. It’s weird to think a show set in the future relates to us on a material level it just throws it off
Agree. I think it can be fun if they do a really outlandish spin on it, like the dream advertisements, but if it's just a direct concept it's very hard not to make it feel clunky. Futurama isn't south park, their episode turnaround is too slow to really do stories about current events
I think the stuff with his family is a lot of fun, but didn't really get what it needed in terms of really making those characters feel memorable and impactful, especially as Bender episodes go
I just noticed that some of the characters from the four early seasons are returning, like Slurms Mackenzie whom we all thought is dead but somehow he is still alive, as he can be seen in the first episode by Hulu season. I’m just getting the feeling that Coilette might return. As I re watched Comedy Central seasons mostly focusing on Calculon (my favorite character) I have managed to find hints, clues, Easter eggs, parallels, metaphors and foreshadowings of her return; along with hints of poor Calculon secretly missing her as the plot twist was revealed in episode “Calculon 2.0”, that he does misses her this entire time as he had a head shot photo of Coilette in his suitcase. And thanks to shows like: Tuca and Bertie, The Amazing World of Gumball, Bee & Puppycat, Spider-Man: Spider Verse movies, and watching a TH-cam video of all Pink Diamond’s foreshadowing (Steven Universe). Which all shows have don an excellent job on foreshadowing.
Honestly I'd kind of love to see Coilette again, I know Bend Her was problematic, but I really liked Coilette and her chemistry with Calculon was really sweet 🥺
I love their relationship too! I never seen Calculon so happy before! Especially when he and Coilette were dancing and you can tell; that Calculon was able to be himself in front of Coilette. I hope we get an episode of Calculon soon and I hope both Coilette and Calculon get together. I wonder IF she does return, in her own body, who would voice her? Also I won’t spoiled this but…I think I know WHOM Coilette is… will have to wait and see.
I really like your theory and hope you're right! I'd love to see her again even if it's just a parallel universe sort of deal where she didn't go back to being Bender, honestly I think that could be done in a super moving way, like Calculon somehow gets to see what his life would have been like or something 🥺
This my theory but I will give you a hint about Coilette’s true identity. Here’s the hint: who else was inside of bender’s mind, before He turned into Coilette and this episode ❤️🚀💋 not only in the same season 4 as Bend Her but it’s an early episode before Bend Her.
This was an unfortunate start to the season for me. luckily I'm well practiced in disappointing starts that morph into a pretty good season *cough* space babies *cough*

I do agree about the episode NFT stuff would have been stale years ago, kinda felt the same about bitcoin episode last season, but unless they a do a turnaround at South Park speeds it's really tough to manage to avoid feeling stale on stuff like that. Professors foot getting impaled and exploding tooth felt like classic Futurama and I did like the callbacks like finglonger, owls and tortoise stuck on its back but I want new Futurama not just nostalgia Futurama
I'm okay with the nostalgia as long as the new stuff has some real story beans behind it, but I agree I like it when they let things be new. I think having Amy and Kif start a family and Leela and Fry be together in earnest have been great ways to keep the characters from growing stale, but it's like the writers forget Futurama is at its best when they focus on its characters and make us forget it's just a silly cartoon

The weird rock sport actually works better if you know about the real world sport it's based on, which is the Mesoamerican Ballgame. Which was a Native sport played by Aztecs, Mayans and other Mesoamerican cultures. The sport still exists today as Ulama and is one of the oldest, surviving sports in the world, and also one of the oldest to use a rubber ball.
Well at least Futurama is Back with New episodes of weekly premieres on Hulu unlike the Clone High revival which failed and got cancelled on MAX after 2 Seasons and to Quote Fry Don't ReBoot a Show if the quality isn't going to be there at Futurama has the same writers same voice cast and has the same magic that made Futurama Great
It's in the works, but my hopes for the video are ambitious, so the writing is taking awhile while I revisit the games 😅 I suppose I could do a shorter video just giving it a review

Okay NOT The Best episode to Start out on of an episode of NFT's when The Simpsons did it first in there recent Treehouse of Horror even though the episode was good with Bender going to Mexico to find his Family buy let's be real here the NFT's Jokes got old Fast and wasn't even that funny
The problem is the episode is coming out actual years after it's been a trend, so these are all jokes that have been made in countless memes for quite awhile and they didn't do enough legwork to make it interesting as something for Futurama to comment on. A throwaway joke in a more focused episode would have been fine, but it's not fresh or interesting enough to justify taking up the time in the episode that it does, when Bender meeting his family is much more interesting, but hardly developed. It was a similar problem with the covid episode, but it's not the first time Futurama has attempted this and fumbled it. That said, if you enjoyed the episode and thought it was funny, that's awesome! I'm glad it worked for somebody, there are episodes I like a lot that other people don't really enjoy, it's all subjective

No, this is exactly what Futurama always does. They make fun of silly trends. NFTs is a silly trend. It's exactly their bag.
