    I think a better way of describing the issue of digital mirrors is that real mirrors have depth that needs to be focused on while camera's and displays only give a 2D image. Yeah it shows the same thing, but you can't tell distance with a display.

    There was a guy who loved his squashed VW Beetle with a very low front bumper. He decided to take a road trip to the bank to withdraw all his money, feeling excited to hit the road in his belovet car. As he cruised along the scenic route, he passed by a brand new Hyundai, but he didn't let it get to him. Instead, he cranked up his favorite tunes, rolled down the windows, and enjoyed the feeling of freedom that comes with a road drip.
    The sun was shining, the wind was in his hair, and the open road was calling his name. He felt alive as he drove his trusty car, remminniscing about all the good times they had shared together. When he arrived at the bank, he withdrew all his money, feeling a sense of acomplishment and satisfaction. He then hopped back in his car, ready to hit the road again, knowing that he and his VW Beetle were unstoppable, no matter how many new cars they encountered along the way.

    So real world range of 420km but if you need to use preconditioning you can't below 20% and you can't charge above 80% without waiting for an hour or more. That means you'd actually on have a usable of about 25% - 80% or 55% of that range available. Your efficiency was also combined city/highway so you'd probably lose another 10% if you were just doing highway so you actually get about 45% of that 420km, or 190km. Travelling at 120km/h means you have to stop for somewhere between 20 minutes and an hour every hour and a half.

      @michaelcollier8768 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LOL, maybe at -30c. Anyone who is going a long distance can charge to 100% and, depending on temp and charger speed, it takes closer to 40 minutes rather than 1 hour or more to go from @6% - 100%. Car and Driver rates the Ioniq 5 AWD at 210 miles at 75 mph. The Ioniq 6 RWD should go significantly farther but we must wait for a real world test.

    Interesting comparison to the model 3 , I drove one the other day (model 3) and I thought it was as good as any car on the road , build quality wise and driving comfort . I currently have a new golf R and there's plenty of rattles and cheap plastic's.

    • @Skylancer727
      @Skylancer727 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mean if you're used to basic consumer models the Model 3 looks fairly average, the main flaw with the Model 3 is vs cars of the same price range. Like yeah it is about the same as riding in a Camry, Prius, Civic, etc, but it is louder than an Avalon, Pilot, most things from Lexus, etc.
      I will also stress though that Teslas as a whole tend to be designed more with the sporty idea of rougher rides and power over comfort. I mean just think of how rare rear wheel drive is in cars anymore as consumers tend to prefer front wheel for stability. Teslas are built sporty with the sporty suspension, stiff steering, etc. Some people really like that though.

    • @Rick9482
      @Rick9482 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Skylancer727 I believe the suspension is rather stiff because of the acceleration and general speed that the 3 can achieve. It's my only gripe on my 3LR but if the road is halfway decent the issue just disappears. Overall, the car is pure delight to drive and the best purchase of my life, I'm eighty.

    • @Skylancer727
      @Skylancer727 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Rick9482 well yeah, even a bike with no suspension feels nice on a good road. But this is America where the roads are trash and they patch entire roads down the side instead of repave it.
      In general stiff spension is added to sportier cars so you can slam them into turns and not lift. But I really don't see this as a serious concern for most consumers. It really only matters for those taking it to the track. Plus as an EV it already has a very low weight distribution and sedans are far less likely to tip.
      I'm not saying it's a bad car, people aren't gonna try every car on the market and people have their own opinions, I personally far prefer the more luxurious smooth ride like floating on air. Some people seem to actively hate that though.

    tbh the only reasons you want a ioniq6 over m3 are:

    Can you see front screen from behind the wheel? I somehow have a feeling that most of it is hidden.
    Also charging port location is a bit of a mystery. It it is located next to a driver's door and it is much closer to the middle of the car, so no matter how you park you can reach it with a short cable. Location like in this car forces you to always park backwards, which is not always the best. Why is such a limitation for nothing?

    After driving this car for past 6 months, many software issues some of which you referred to I.e. automatic doors sometimes works and it just never stops beeping and bonging no matter what settings you use also constantly warning me to take a break. Also the infotainment system is average at best and can be very glitchy and soooo slow. My car has been back to garage 6 times without any improvements! Such a pity as it would be an excellent car…so quite except for constant these intrusive alerts…

      I was mostly just surprised about your statement in the video, given the fact that SUV usage, especially in urban areas, has received quite a bit of, negative press in Germany.
      Even if there's little difference in crash safety, there's one aspect which isn't covered by any test: Crash prevention via visibility. SUV's have the inherit disadvantage of offering more "Totwinkel" compared to lower vehicles, as well as weighing more when compared to an comparable sedan.

    I like it only because it adds to the mix of EVs available for sale. I'm still not a fan of Hyundai! IM, a lot of flash with looks but the underpinnings are not class leading.
    I chose a Tesla and two years into ownership, I still have no regrets. I enjoy class leading software, electric motors and battery technology. It matters!
    Nowadays, my only concern in my car is what playlist I have working.

      Understandable but to play a devil's advocate -
      Hyundai/Kias drive much better than Tesla. Honestly, they just know how to make a better car. It just a better car to me having driven all of them.
      the biggest difference is a build quality. their build quality rivals Lexus when Lexus was at their best IMO. Tesla's are built like 90's hyundai.

    12:39 - Hyundai have done it, for the second time, the wrong way. With the Ioniq 5 everyone noticed the boxy, inefficient design, but they were "making a statement of the 80's".

    I would be very curious regarding efficiency at higher speeds e.g. 140 and 160 km/h between Ioniq 5 and 6. Theoretically, there would be a bigger advantage there for the 6. If it remains similar the 6 would seem quite pointless.
