  • With a heavy mix of nostalgia, GPD is ready to launch the new GPD Win 4 PC handheld. This device packs a Ryzen 7 6800u processor into a small shell, and it improves almost everything that was bad about the GPD Win 3.

Thanks for the vid Taki. It's definitely something that I would be interested in, but it all deepens on the price for me. I won't be able to justify something that is 4 times the price of a Deck, just for something smaller and a bit more powerful. As an ex-Blackberry only guy who got forced to migrate, those keyboards make me smile :D
BTW, I was wondering, what is the tripod or similar thing you are using to get this "first person" view of you playing the device? Does it support a regular camera "port"? (sorry I'm bad with the nomenclature when it comes to filming gears).
While filming, are you watching the device's screen, or another one that is offscreen?
Even a very short reply would be very useful, but if not, it's totally okay dude, no worries!
I'm not sure if you ever posted a general list of the gears you work with to make your videos, but it could be useful (as others generally put things that will sell with an affiliated link, and not necessarily their actual rig... I know you hate that kind of attitude, which is why I decided to ask this directly to you).

Out of all the handhelds I've seen from discovering this channel and others like it. This one has one thing others don't (at least from the ones I've seen) thou insanely minor and petty yet also very important are those bottom handles (I'm not sure what they're called) on the bottom left and bottom right of the device where you can tie a wrist strap. Since handhelds are kinda of heavy, there's always a chance you can drop it like if you were playing while lying down and slips and lands on your face and the strap at least keeps it from falling force on your face or (worst case scenario), the floor.

I pulled the trigger on the latter partially due to the poor screen quality from early videos of the Win 4 (and Taki's great neo2 coverage). I don't regret it (I ended up getting the early bird pricing on the Ayaneo 2), but seeing decent videos of the Win 4's screens earlier would have at least made it a discussion lol. Hi Taki, Which handheld pc do you recommend me? Because Aya Neo 2, Onexplayer 2 or the GPD Win 4. All of these handheld PCs are in the same league in terms of technology and price. When it comes to the premium feel I would go with the Aya Neo 2. I also have a steam deck but the screen there isn't that great and I have light bleeds as well.

I don't disagree that it looks like a nice product but it kills me they don't make small pocketable clamshells anymore. There really is still no replacement for the GPD Win 2 to this day - I assume because 5-7W x86 processors are not really a thing anymore.

I would love to see Valve work with these other makes to put Deck OS and settings databases on these devices. Deck will always be the affordable mass produced highly engineered model with the biggest settings database, but it would be great to see support for other devices too. I do love this form factor and keyboard. I think there would be a big market for a smaller fan less device that's really pocketable too.

    4. Does the device have gyro? I saw mixed answers, but if so- how are they?
    5. How is the screen under sunlight?

I would like to hold on till then before i pull the trigger to see if i can get a little more life of a handheld device, cause it's a pretty big investment for me, and the leaks suggest that RDNA3 will be a substancial jump.
