God hearing your Dredd 2 thoughts got me misty eyed. Sucks that didn’t do well at the box office. I can proudly say I Saw it in the theatre opening night
Not getting a Dredd 2 is one of the biggest travesty's of the last decade in the film world, really sucks...yet two years later we all had to suffer the shitfest of Robocock.
Iron Giant 2 obviously. Always wanted a District 9 sequel. My fav alien movie ever. Also a direct sequel to Cloverfield. Also a TRUE Home Alone sequel with Culkin being the dad now and he forgets his son at home.
Phantasm II had a chainsaw fight too. That's what I remembered when you mentioned that concept. Also, there were talks for in the last Phantasm to have Ash team up with Reggie but I guess that was a rumor since it never happened..
Commando 2 had a script which was written by Steven E. DeSouza and Frank Darabont in 1989. I remember briefly reading it online but I cannot seem to find it anymore. From what I recall, the plot involved Matrix working as a military security unit leader who’s been put in charge of providing security for a big corporation. Turns out matrix’s team is actually crooked and are really under command from Matrix’s former commander General Kirby and the corporation is a front for weapons dealing. So matrix basically goes up against his own highly trained men, whilst protecting Jenny and Cyndi who are also trapped in the building.
Judge Death had three more buddies from Hell with him, the Dark Judges, all with their specific lethal powers. Dredd and Anderson fighting these mofos in the streets of Mega-City one would be epic if done correctly.
Films and TV shows that should have gotten a sequel 5th Pierce Brosnan 007 film, 3rd Timothy Dalton 007 film, Walker Texas Ranger: Trial by Fire, Django (Jamie Foxx), Spiderman 3, Beverly Hills Cop 3, Man of Fire, Daredevel, Minority Report, Enemy of the State, Gone in 60 Seconds (2000), 300: Rise of the Empire, Ricky Bobby, Days of Thunder, Karate Kid 4, Friday, Rush Hour 3, November Man, Master and Commander, Men in Black sequel with Will Smith, Kill Bill 2, Blade with Wesley Snipes, Martial Law, Steve Urkel, The Golden Child, Disney Tarzan, True Lies
I actually pitched a concept for a Willy's Wonderland 2 with Dolph and the concept was a blend between Scream 2 and Silent Hill 2 the video game where Dolph has amnesia but remembers how to make repairs in facilities and how to fight. He falls in love with a woman who tells him about a daughter he had and sends him off to go find her at a funhouse or amusement park where they have a Willy's Funhouse/Amusment Park but instead of something people fear, they're embracing it with merch and video games so it's a big hit. He later finds out the woman he fell in love with just wanted him for his money and lied about him having a daughter so she could steal from him while he's stuck at the funhouse/park to do battle with the animatronics he helped build or do maintenance.
Dredd 2, RocknRolla 2 (was a planned trilogy), Cobra 2, Tango & Cash 2, True Lies 2, Beetlejuice 2, Lionheart 2, Timecop 2, Rounders 2. I'd have loved a Last Action Hero 2 where he just plays Jack Slater without all the movie within a movie stuff. You can get a German bluray of Bright.
I know this isn't technically a sequal but I would have loved to have seen a third Timothy Dolten bond movie And I would have liked a 48 hours 3 in the 1990s I would have like Dolph to do have Done command performance 2 And I would have liked a Mortal Kombat 3 movie
Totally agree about Timothy Dalton not getting that third Bond film, his two outings as 007 are much more respected nowadays from when they were originally released.
Would have loved to have seen a third Timothy Dalton James Bond movie myself. According to the recent book, The Lost Adventures Of James Bond two different screenplays for a proposed third movie with Timothy Dalton were written but ultimately got shelved due to the issues plaguing United Artists/ MGM at the time.
Stallone don’t leave his old movies alone for some reason I agree with you about rocky 4 because it still going to be a Same film just a longer version that no one asked for I think stallone going to do one of the rambo films 🎥 to a director cut version too
I got one your movie drive 1997 and the part 2 be like the head guy have made some more fighters to kill them and the black one went back to his wife and daughter and they became best friends after the first one it could have been a little bit of die hard 3
Demolition Man, Commando, Rounders, True Lies, Drive (1997), Blood & Bone, The Punisher (1989), The Punisher (2004) all should have gotten sequels in my opinion.
1. Dredd 2 2.The Chronicles of Narnia Sequels with the Silver Chair, The Magicians Nephew, The Horse and his Boy and The Last Battle 3.Freddy vs Jason vs Ash 4. The Thing 2 5.Dog Soldiers 2 6. True Lies 2 7. Beverley Hills Cop 4 8. Rush Hour 4 9. Timecop 2 with Van Damme 10. Tango and Cash 2
There are a lot of films that I hoped would get sequels, but never did, such as another Narnia film, Golden Compass (though it was rebooted as a tv show), Dredd, Freddy vs Jason, Master and Commander, Amazing Spiderman 3, Beverly Hills Cop 4, and others.
Dredd 2, demolition Man 2, timecop 2 (with Van damme set in Jerusalem during crusades where modern day Templars want to change history by giving 10 century Templars brothers 21st century tech), big trouble in little China 2( set it in China). Cyborg 2 (with Van damme and use mad Max 2 as inspiration)
I understand why it didn't happen [as it was a bit of a flop] but Nice Guys 2 would have been fun to see. Master & Commander II is something I would have liked to see in the mid 2000's.
Nearly a decade later, I am glad that I got to not only experience Dredd in theaters but also in 3D. Not sure if it was because I went during the day in the middle of the week, but I recall there being only two or three other people in the theater when I saw it. It's a bummer that we never got a proper sequel. Yes, there was a comic series that followed the movie. Hell, one of those comics touched on Ma Ma's backstory. Very interesting to read, but still, I would have preferred a proper sequel.
Good video and some great ideas for sequels Matt! Personally, some of the sequels i would have loved to see are; (Note to RamboMcClaneZelaya and others, for lot more info about these Commando 2, Rambo 4, Escape From L.A. and Alien 3 sequels that never were, please check KiramidHead's Screenplay Archaeology episodes here on TH-cam) Lethal Weapon 2 aka Play Dirty by Shane Black and Warren Murphy - Infamous original version which many people considered to be one of the best action scripts they read, and which Black himself said was his best work. Yes, it would end with Riggs dying, but at least he would go out like a badass, sacrificing himself to save Murtaugh and his family, by killing all the bad guys despite suffering through heavy injuries and then blowing up the plane full of cocaine over the city. Commando 2 by Steven De Souza and Frank Darabont - Seriously, out of all 80's sequels which could have been, why this masterpiece was never made is beyond me. This script is absolutely f-ckin insane, the level of action sequences and how bigger each scene would get further in the story was awesome. The ending showdown and final battle alone would have been great to see onscreen. Rambo 4: Borderline by Dan Gordon - I really like the fourth Rambo film we did get, but this script was just amazing, and if they really had James Mangold in mind to direct it in mid 2000's, i really think this would have been sort of like Stallone's version of Unforgiven. It was basically the very first version of "Rambo vs Cartel" story that was eventually used for fifth film, but it was so much better. Rambo 5: Last Blood by Matt Cirulnick - Before Sly went and re-wrote entire script, it was originally much more action packed, and hell of a lot more darker and violent story, and the finale was actually more of a Rambo-like final showdown, not to mention that while in Cirulnick's script Rambo was even more troubled and haunted by PTSD he actually felt more like Rambo than he did in the final film. And in both this and Borderline, we would have seen the return of C-4 arrows! Lethal Weapon 4 by Jeffery Boam - In mid 90's he wrote the script for fourth film which had Riggs and Murtaugh fighting against neo-nazi survivalists. I have one of the later drafts and while it has few issues, it is so much better sequel than one which was made, and more closer to serious and darker tone of first two films. Hell it's better than third film as well! Lethal Weapon 5: Body Count by Shane Black - Written in mid 2000's, and would have old Riggs and Murtaugh in New York on Christmas during huge blizzard, trying to help Murtaugh's son and dealing with mercenary team who are trying to kill him and them. It was another Lethal Weapon script which went back to gritty and dark tone of Black's original scripts for first two films, and another "Unforgiven-like" story. Die Hard 4 - The version based on one other script titled Tears of the Sun, which would have McClane and some other people in the Amazon jungle surviving and fighting against drug dealers and slavers who are hunting them. Escape From L.A. by Peter Briggs - Completely serious and action packed version which i would gladly take over the mess that the actual sequel turned out to be. Lot more of a rescue mission type of story with Snake working with special forces team and them fighting their way through cartel armies of L.A. I wouldn't mind even if Coleman Luck's script was used instead, one in which Snake had to deal with citizens of L.A. who turned into mutated psychos, as long as they changed some of the script, specially the stupid third act twist and ending. Alien 3 by William Gibson or David Twohy - Either of these two. In perfect world, they could have made Gibson's script into third film and maybe turn Twohy's into fourth film. Gibson's story was just all out action sci-fi horror, and Twohy's was actually good version of "Alien in space prison" story.
Though it wasn't stand alone, I would have given anything for two last Christopher Reeve Superman films. The Death and Return of Superman would have been incredible in the early 90s. It would follow Superman IV, but with a higher budget and a seriousness that resembles the first two, it would have been huge. And if they crossover with Michael Keaton Batman after Returns in a World's Finest movie to end the series forever...that would be a dream. Sadly, these three movies only exist in my head.
Would be funny if Arnold got kidnapped in Commando 2 and both Rae Dawn Chong and Alyssa Milano had to go get him. So much could be done in the dream worlds of Freddy, given a good balance of practical and CGI... some of the unfilmed scripts would be interesting. Replacing Robert Englund is almost impossible, though. I saw an interview with him and he said most of the wisecracks weren't his, anyway, but such an iconic style to his acting and mannerisms. It's like replacing Indiana Jones. Gonna p1ss a lot of people off. I liked Mad Max Fury Road but Tom Hardy was a pretty mediocre substitute. It's one of the few sequels in modern times that didn't make me cringe. Those films were always a bit sketchy on characters and relied on the action set pieces. On a pessimistic note, the 80s is hard to emulate even though Hollywood have hit hyperdrive on the nostalgia p0rn these days. Like you said: Mandy is one of the best examples. I hope Panos Cosmatos does something in that style again as he has a lot of years left in him.
@@anubusx He was but that didn't hurt the film one bit, imo. Heck, Max was never the huge egocentric star that Stallone or Arnold were. He was more Snake Plissken surrounded by bizarre chaotic people and situations. Caught in a storm or a flood.

Good video interesting topic. Some sequels I'd like to see is Van helsing 2. The first film is flawed but they could improved the series it could have become another series like a blade but for hugh Jackman and tone down or cut off the CGI. Another sequel I'd like is a Walking tall 2. I liked Walking tall and wanted more of the series and rock n Johnny Knoxville and they could have made it Rated R. Another sequel I'd like is a Dawn of the dead remake 2 sequel. The original had a ending that was hard to tell what happened and I wanted to see more of the characters and more outside away from the mall maybe on a island or something. I actually read army of the dead was supposed to be the sequel but instead we got the batista army of the dead such a shame. Would have been cool to see Ving rhames and others In Vegas.
I actually did get permission to write a sequel to Ford Fairlane from the original author of the books I would really love to do it I just got really bad writers block with it because I do want Ford to have a partner in it Get Andrew dice Clay as the unicorn in bright 2
stallone movies we urge&need unrated uncensorred versions w all the blood intact : nighthawks , demolition man, cliffhanger, judge dredd, cobra , tango cash cliffhanger is the only one of his glorious classics where a roughcut leaked, in the end its not that much more different or spectaclar than the R rated version in this case imo, but the rest are rumored to be heavily edited... nighthawks was to get an x rating, which is pretty cool i think, and i love all these movies to death, imagine them being even more badass @tango cash, aside the trailer footage-if i remember in the finale its noticable that all the shootouts its awkward editing so in the end you see all the thugs all over the floor w/o seeing them get shot, there might some glorious amount of blood in the original version....which i understand in this case they thought -its more of a light comedy, violence feels a bit o
i would have wanted freddy vs jason 2 but not had ash cause i wasnt that big a fan of evil dead films but I definetely had michael meyers added in or heck even like one of the pitched endings of the first film bring in pinhead from hellraiser, have jason and freddy forced to team up by slaughtering all kinds of demons and evil people in hell in order to get out and end up having to fight pinhead. i wouldnt have added leatherface, ghostface, norman bates, hannibal lecter or jigsaw, they are human serial killers, freddy, jason, pinhead and michael are superhuman. Im not even sure of adding chucky they should have expendables 4 be the action stars of the 80s against the movie serial killers of the 80s, I think that be kick ass
I know at one point there was gonna be a Commando 2 and there was a script but Arnold Schwarzenegger turned it down and they took that script and they turned it into Die Hard, which even Arnold was the first actor offered the role of John McClane, again Arnold turned it down, Bruce Willis was cast and the rest is history.
@@ramboraph4life Oh really? I didn’t know that was false, Thank you for clearing that up, but there were plans to do a Commando 2, but never materialized.
Like Matt said, that was just a myth, possibly created by someone who years ago confused Steven De Souza's scripts for Die Hard and Commando 2. Die Hard was only based on novel Nothing Lasts Forever by Roderick Thorp. This reminds me on another fake rumor about how Die Hard With A Vengeance was originally going to be Lethal Weapon 4. This also is not true, Joel Silver did tried to buy original Simon Says script and turn it into LW 4, but 20th Century Fox bought it instead and used it for third Die Hard film.
@@jackcraven2266 Very interesting, I heard that before the Simon Says script became Die Hard With A Vengeance, wasn’t it going to be a movie with Brandon Lee starring in it before he sadly passed away?
to respond to you matt, for me personally- vampire academy(the film was mostly shit but the ending was pretty cool cliffhanger) hancock 2(I think this was meant to have one) chronicles of narnia chaos walking(not entirely confirmed it wont have one but unlikely it will after box office reception) idk if brightburn is getting a sequel or not, if so im still waiting those are the only ones that come to mind atm
The Thing 2 sequel that would've had John carpenter returning as director as long as it would've been partticul effects again. night of the creeps 2 Tom Atkins could return as a different character. The mask 2 with jim Carey. Demolition man 2 as we know Stallone mentioned it recently but it'll probably never come to be.

i would have wanted freddy vs jason 2 but not had ash cause i wasnt that big a fan of evil dead films but I definetely had michael meyers added in or heck even like one of the pitched endings of the first film bring in pinhead from hellraiser, have jason and freddy forced to team up by slaughtering all kinds of demons and evil people in hell in order to get out and end up having to fight pinhead.
i wouldnt have added leatherface, ghostface, norman bates, hannibal lecter or jigsaw, they are human serial killers, freddy, jason, pinhead and michael are superhuman. Im not even sure of adding chucky
they should have expendables 4 be the action stars of the 80s against the movie serial killers of the 80s, I think that be kick ass
From what I heard, that rumor was false. The script was not turned into Die Hard. It was something different.
@@noahcool2841 They did consider it for 'Rapid Fire 2' at one point.
I would have liked a sequel to Pandorum.
Unlike most People I liked The 1998 Godzilla Movie it’s A lot better than The Other Japanese version
The cartoon was a good way to continue the story.
It's better than all 3 of the new American ones too.
Dawn Of The Dead 2004
Man Of Steel
Cloverfield
Dredd
Super Marios Brothers The Movie
to respond to you matt, for me personally-
vampire academy(the film was mostly shit but the ending was pretty cool cliffhanger)
hancock 2(I think this was meant to have one)
chronicles of narnia
chaos walking(not entirely confirmed it wont have one but unlikely it will after box office reception)
idk if brightburn is getting a sequel or not, if so im still waiting
those are the only ones that come to mind atm
The Thing 2 sequel that would've had John carpenter returning as director as long as it would've been partticul effects again. night of the creeps 2 Tom Atkins could return as a different character. The mask 2 with jim Carey. Demolition man 2 as we know Stallone mentioned it recently but it'll probably never come to be.
Stay Alive 2
Step brothers 2
