Lost Mine Trail Big Bend TX

One of the must do hikes in Big Bend National Park! The parking lot for Lost Mine Trail is quite small. Make sure you get to the parking lot as early as possible. If you don't see any parking spots sometimes you can sit and wait a moment until hikers come back and then you can grab their parking spot. This hike has some amazing views and lots of space at the top to chill at.

Thanks for sharing! The trails are interesting enough to read about but the vlogs really bring them to life. For parking issues, would you recommend staying at the lodge in the park, or no?

You’re welcome! The lodge would be a good place to be for being at window trail trail head and for Emory peak. However, big bend is huge and even if staying at the lodge you’ll be driving all over the park to get to places. We stayed in our RV at Big Bend Resort and Adventures outside of big bend national park. It was an easy drive into big bend from there. Just like most other national parks you’ll want to be up and heading to the park/trails before the sun comes up so you can beat the traffic and get yourself parking. Also, there’s not really options for food or gas inside big bend. We loved staying at big bend resort and adventures because there was a gas station right there to fill up each time we come out of the park and we were right there a few minutes from Terlingua where there was quite a few options for dinner. Our favorites were starlight theater (be prepared to wait in line if your arrive late), and we loved taqueria el milagro. Terlingua is a cool ghost town you can’t miss while visiting big bend.
