How We Made an RV Power Hook Up
มุมมอง 296ปีที่แล้ว
In this video we go through how we installed 50 amp power at my parents’ home. Without it we were limited to 15 amps from a regular household outlet. The whole project only took a couple hours and around $300 in supplies. We recommend hiring a professional for your install. This video’s purpose is not to show you how but to show you what we did. It is your responsibility to research and/or hire...

    I think it's junk. Changing the oil is almost impossible. The rpms with the eco mode off is barely higher than when it's on. It struggles to start the air conditioner in my camper. Customer service isn't worth a hoot. I call several times like 5 times, and not one of the people could answer any of my questions

    I had a champion inverter for 5 years with roughly 2000 hours on it. Run like a top, never gave any issues. It did give up the ghost. I couldn't find a champion so I bought a Cummins Onan p4500i

  • @MrBritrider
    @MrBritrider หลายเดือนก่อน

    This is crazy, the same issue on many similar inverter generators, a snap lock plug falls off! Is this some sort of Chinese conspiracy or their version of a practical joke? So is this an issue right out of the box that the generators won’t start? Or does this issue develop after using it. If the latter, is it vibrating off because of a plug lock defect? Sir, when you reinstalled the plug, did you feel or hear a definite click that it locked in place? Did you take any preventative measures to insure that it doesn’t come loose again? This is unbelievable 🤣

  • @mikethebike7372

    Will never understand why Ducar put an solenoid operated automatic choke on these. First one I bought on line 3 years ago would not stay running because the choke did not turn off and just flooded the engine. I took it to Cummins. They were very nice about it , kept it 2 weeks because the problem for them apparently was intermittent. They finally determined it had a bad solenoind but no parts available. Mine was an early production and most of them had this problem or choke was unplugged like this tutorial. They had another one and gave me that even transferred my high altitude jet to it and this one has been fine. We camp every month so in 3 years this gen. has over 400 hrs on it. I use 10W30 Onan- Cummins oil in the winter and the 15W40 in the summer , it is expensive and looks like mineral oil. I have a Briggs&Stratton oil extractor I use to pump out the dirty oil because the drain plug deal is a real P.I.T.A. Also got a magnetic drain plug , think it is the same as the Wen. I do like the commentor here's idea of installing a manual choke on it which is what the Chinese should've done.

    Whoa found this video after watching your Chalk Lake which I never knew about. Oh my gosh. So many memories of tubing the river in college. Early 90s it was a bit more dangerous until sometime late 90s LCRA slowed the river down. We’d get knocked off our to tubes in a few places and our beer tube holding the cooler flip and dump everything. We quickly learned to tie the lid down. Great times. Keep exploring.

    ‼️IMPORTANT‼️ (SAVE this & SEND to your nurse friends) the only person who has your back is you ➡️ here are a few goals to make 2023 the best year for your career as a nurse ☺️ find a job that makes you happy whether that means exploring a new specialty, getting out of a toxic work environment, getting away from bedside, or taking the leap to try travel nursing - don’t stay anywhere you’re genuinely unhappy just because you’re “comfortable” ⚖️ create a work-life balance there is more to life than work - this year say NO to mandatory OT, do more things that make you happy, take more vacations, don’t pick up every extra shift just because you feel pressured, & TRY to avoid burnout because it’s very real 💰 quit thinking you’re greedy for wanting better pay there’s absolutely nothing wrong with wanting paid better for the sacrifices you’re making & the skills you’re bringing to the table 🏥 nursing is one of the few professions that doesn’t get annual bonuses or significant raises. this year ➡️ ask for the raise, be willing to change jobs if it makes more sense for you financially, & don’t feel bad about leaving to travel if that’s what’s going to get you ahead financially 📣 nurses are crucial to healthcare & in too high of a demand to be settling ➡️ are you feeling burnt out? ready to make a change? 👋🏽 DM us to get started on your travel nursing career FOLLOW 🚌 @wereoutnabout for more #travelnurse & #rvliving info + tips 🔖 #travelnursepay #travelnursemoney #travelrn #travelnursehack #travelnursetips #travelnurselife #travelnursing #travelnurses #rvtravelnurse #rvtravels #fulltimervers #travelnursecouple #travelingnurse #nursesofinstagram #nursesofig #debtfreenurse #paytransparency #nursesalary #travelrnlife

    • @wereoutnabout

      Not sure! I know other generators I’ve had the carburetors on them easily get gummed up from fuel sitting over long periods of time. If my generator won’t run I usually have to take the carburetor off and clean the Jets in it with carb cleaner. It’s relatively easy to do just have to look for videos showing how to remove a carb off a generator. To prevent the carb getting gummed up use fuel treatment like stabil in the gas tank of the generator. Once added to the fuel run the generator a few minutes. Then always use the fuel shut off valve and shut off the fuel, let the generator run until it sputters out of fuel. This will help remove as much fuel as you can from the carburetor to prevent gumming up again

    • @wereoutnabout
      @wereoutnabout ปีที่แล้ว

      Without knowing which exact one you’re missing I’m guessing either the hose going from carb to air filter or hose from fuel tank to carburetor. Larger hose is the one going to air filter. Smaller one providing fuel from tank. You can find hoses like these at hardware or maybe automotive stores

    I regret not having found this video sooner! Let me elaborate that I regret paying $446.11 to have a Cummins service center diagnose this exact same problem, for my generator. I purchased my p4500i February 2021, and wasn't able to use it until September 2022. That put me seven months outside of the One year parts and labor warranty! Although this seems to be a very common problem, there is no recall or other means from the manufacturer to the consumer to alert you of the potential problem straight out of the box. Who's really winning here!?

    • @williamolliges2622
      @williamolliges2622 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I called the authorized repair center and they want $649 bucks to diagnose a hot start / overload at 50%. Diagnostic fee that is 50% of the cost of a new generator is mind blowing. The guy’s comment is that most repairs cost more than the price of a new one. I’m gonna look at the choke, because it sounds like it may be sticking or not operating properly.

    • @mikethebike7372
      @mikethebike7372 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi. If what this guy said was really true all these places would be out of business because no one would have the work done. This is a Chinese gen with a Ducar engine any shop that works on sml generators should be able to fix it Google it up. Likely the solenoid operated electric choke is the problem. Good luck.

    • @williamolliges2622
      @williamolliges2622 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mikethebike7372 I think they’ve got plenty of work dealing with generators installed in RVs and industrial equipment along with Cummins equipped trucks and such. The pricing is clearly intended to keep the rifraff like me away from the shop.

      @@williamolliges2622 Sounds about right , and it is really only their product by name . The gen is made in China and has a Ducar chinese engine.
