I have to thank you again for this video, I used the 5015 raid controller and now have over 60TB of SATA storage in my M1 and also used another one of your videos to install a GPU in the 8x slot, this is now a kick ass Plex server I'm really happy thank you!! Keep up the videos you are very passionate about what you do and its great to watch!
You should check your x3650 M1 ServeRAID 8k battery packs for bulging, defect packs every few months. Especially when they are piggyback-mounted on the raid controller itself instead of the separate mount on the PSU cage. We have had multiple battery packs swell to the point of breaking/microcracking the raid controller when they were mounted on the raid controller itself although the serveraid utility said the battery was ok. There was just a lot of I/O errors.
Love how x3650 M1 can handle Huge Modern Drives, just shows how epic this server actually is,that it will continue to hold its ground and be useful into the future.
Just because one drive works does not mean you can put 6x 10TB drives, some expanders will go into a transparent/bypass mode when they get disks they don't support, so you would only be able to put 4x 10TB drives if that were the case (I know some supermicro backplanes do this with >2TB drives)... if it does support 6x 10TB drives that would be pretty great, and a testament to how great the 3650 series was... really wish they made LFF versions of the M3

I own a ThinkServer TDX200 from Lenovo (which was created by IBM but theysold it to Lenovo). It's an old server from around 2009. So recently I have contacted IBM because I've needed some components. The dude from IBM has said to me that only specific Raid Controllers will work with my machine because of the drivers. If I install the wrong Raid Controller the system might not recognize the new Raid Controller. Did you ever have encountered this problem? (Raid Controller not recognized by the motherboard?)
Hello, could you tell me what model is the controller exactly to buy it? My server does not recognize more than 2tb. Excuse me for asking but I don't understand English. I'll appreciate your answer.

After a few days I have removed the 3TB drives to reduce power consumption and noise. I have however never tested btrfs running different rpm drives or running btrfs on top of md-raid
@@vewo234 I was using Raid 5 with Btrfs file system when experiencing the issues. I received the 2 additional 3 tb drives today. @John Beaudette: The information I found on the AsuStor devices seems to suggest that these ar using md-raid on the Disks and running the filesystem on top of that, which is not ideal in most btrfs usecases.
