I know how it is to forget password - I did it with my administrator password for printserver.. 😂 But I'm can use it as user.. I installed Ventoy on my installation USB stick few days ago - learned from Your's videos about that tool.. 😉 Before that I every time reinstalled ISO on that USB stick when I needed to change version etc.. But I'm a Linux guy - installed Ventoy in Linux terminal.. 😂 Looks like Win server 2022, indeed, dropped support for older hardware.. That's sad.. From this video we can learn, that server 2022 won't work on older servers.. Thats gives good informational value for this video.. 👍
Hi there, I've tried to install windows server 2022 on my X3650 M2, it seems like my raid controller is not compatible. How did you get around this issue?
Have you considered to setup a WDS server for your installations? It’s not great for mass deployment (yes I know MDT and other tools exist), but if you just want a standard Windows install process and maybe even preload some drivers, I believe it’s a great choice. It basically replaces your USB drive with a network connection at this point.
need to try this on my Dell t730, not as old as your IBM but it have alot of hardware that i hope there are default drivers for, cause there are no way in hell Dell is going to make drivers for server 2022 on as Xeon v3/v4 system
Some,, 1) Make sure to use a USB2.0 (and not 3.0) 2) Try the ports in the back. 3) If your server firmware is really old,, that is not helping. 4) Is USB disabled in Bios ??

Good morning, I have this same problem on an x3650 M4, I'm from Brazil, I couldn't understand the video, but it seems to me that you installed an SSD to get around the problem, is that it? Can you answer me. Thank you for your attention.
Usually you can press and hold the power button,, and after x like 3 sec. it will turn off. If it does not stay off,, maybe see if there is a bios setting that,,,turns it on :-) Maybe load bios default..
What I can see from the error on the screen it looks to me as if when you start up the system to install windows server 22 at the drive selection-screen you need it to allow for the driver to be installed so what you would need to do is find the latest windows drivers for the card you're using to boot from and what would normally need to happen is you would need to install those even though you would see the drive-ins the windows setup like you normally would if you're using a standard size a hard disk that would be needing the drivers installed for the card you're using because windows server 22 may have a driver is broken
Is that really what WS2022 looks like? I'm surprised it looks like Windows 10 instead of client Windows 11. It makes me want to see what the LTSC will look like.
MYPLAYHOUSE would it not be easier to install some usb 2.0 or usb 3.0 expander into this machine to make updating it faster,if its only usb 1.0 speeds.i doubt any usb 2 or 3 expander card would cost lots and save u lots time.

Hi there, I've tried to install windows server 2022 on my X3650 M2, it seems like my raid controller is not compatible. How did you get around this issue?
I have not tried on a M2,, this was the M1
@@MyPlayHouse Thanks for the reply. I would assume the M1 uses the same raid controller if not an older. Did you upgrade it?
Did you try to install esXi 6.7 or 7 on this x3570 7979 machine? If you did, was it a simple install? Or you had to do any custom modifications?
I did a video in putting ESXi 6.5 on the IBM x3650 M1 I do not think the 6.7 worked as it is missing some CPU features... that is needed.

Hello. Which raid control card did you use?
Humm if it is not in the video,,, I do not remember,,, sorry :-/
The m2 drive PCIe, how many lanes, what version? Maybe it's too new to be supported in the old hardware?
It was working well with ESXi on that server,, so more of an windows driver issue,, I think.

I allways though "booting user selected device" meant it was booting the boot menu.
Well that was what it did :-)
Shouldn't that server have USB 2.0? USB 2.0 had been out for years already when it was released
Yeah, that server is from 2008! That's closer to USB 3 being widespread (2011/12) than USB 2 which was common back in the early 2000s!
