Piece of advice, having multiple nics on the same board will save you from the upstream switchports failing but it's very rare for a single port(esp. on a sfp/sfp+ NIC) to fail with the rest still working, it's more likely to take the whole card down.
I purchased a DS1819+. I populated it with four SeaGate External HDD and Hub 8Tb for $120 each. The cases had Barracuda Compute Drives in them. About $25 less each for the HDD only.
I wathed BTNHD did a few sessions with the SR650 some time ago and I really liked the server and I cant wait for you to do a series with the SR650 rack server. Btw,can you do a video on the differences between the x3650 m series and SR650 series ? I'm still very new to rackservers. You should get the TPM module on the server. I also read somewhere that the intel x700 series NIC's have problems with esxi environment and its a huge pain to fix it. But I might be wrong if it just the x700 series or a specific model like x722 or something. Man I would love to own the x3650 m5 and the SR650 model for my private network. So awesome to see enterprise servers. Awesome video Morten.
I disagree about the packaging being overkill. I received a pair of servers and a SAN (fully populated) last week, and they arrived by 'air mail' off the truck. I really should go see if we have security camera footage of that. The record was back in the fujitsu-siemens days where I got a 1U server where it was sheared sideways by about 4mm - the top and bottom were still flat and parallel, but the disk couldn't go in because the slots had become parallelograms rather than rectangular holes. The fake theft footage was fine, and I did chuckle a bit.

Intel scales from one security flaw to another :D. Like lenovo systems , they are the better of the big boys. I lean towards gigabyte and asrock rack now, they try and nickle and dime you less
Thank you very much!
We can tell that lenovo isn't like broadcom
Well Lenovo have used broadcom in there servers,, so for example the FOD (features on demand) code sceame, where you have to pay to open up for raid5-6 other stuff on raid controllers,, I did/do not like much.
I hate cable management arms.
Hi BDBD16
They might not be as great as they use to be,, you do not mess around inside the server as much any more.
Thank you for watching! :-)
2:24 ITALY SHAME
Well I forgot about that :-)
@@MyPlayHouse never mind, thieves are everywhere ready to have some of your money
A subtle thief you are most certainly not....
Hi Alex
Well they send me an invoice,, hopeless thief! glad you liked the video :-)
Thank you for watching! :-)
i would love to watch your videos but i can not stand the background music
Hi d w
That is fine,, I have asked the audiences if they was tired of the background music,, and remove/change the music was outvoted 20 to 1,, so no,, not going to happen.
Thank you for watching or not! :-)
