I have the Native Titan 12 and it is amazing. We live on the Ohio River and can get pretty strong currents as well as the significant wake from passing cruisers. This kayak handles both of those issues well and is stable enough for me to stand on with no fear of tipping. The landing gear is essential unless you have two strong folks to get it in and out of the water. I transport in the back of a Ram 1500 short bed and can manage all aspects by myself. The Headwaters videos helped me out a tremendous amount. Thanks for the great work!
@@pghdave420 I haven't been in a 10.5 so it's hard for me to compare. I really like mine and am glad for the extra length both for the additional room and stability on the river.
After watching this video........I purchased the 10.5 Titan.........Thank you for the great review and comparison between the 12 and 10.5. The 10.5 is great to throw in the back of my truck and go fishing.
Why did you pick the 10.5 Titan Reason I'm asking, i rented 12.5 Titan and liked it but it had alot of cavitation and felt like i was spinning my prop. Im 5'6" and 185, i also peddled a PA12 2014. Felt weird after the Titan.
You guys need a shop on the east coast somewhere, preferably in NC close to my house! Really been enjoying the demo vids as I’m considering getting a pedal drive yak at some point this year
O think I'm going to buy both the slayer pro 10 with the pedal drive for fresh water creeks small rivers, and the Titan 12 for more open water, saltwater, offshore. Don't need to buy the pedal drive for the Titan cause I will have it from the slayer 10 which will work on both.
Finally an on the water demo of the Titan 12!! The Coosa FD is #1 on my list until I can demo the Titan 12...I do hate the fact that several pieces of gear track didnt translate over to the 12 that the 13.5 has!!
Headwaters Kayak So I demo'd the Coosa FD against the Titan 12 today ...my thoughts the Coosa FD is sweet n all but it is not as stable as ppl say but Im 6'5" so my C.O.G. is already way different, turning is not anything to rave about either but its really nice for someone; the Titan 12 is faster but the drive skips bad losing propulsion briefly when u really dig into the pedals, the cavitation issue didnt get addressed on maybe that one it still had the longer rounded edge prop, the drive also rocked back n forth pretty noticeably with all 3 securing mechanisms in a locked position, it is wider so its definitely more stable, that thing also turns in its own wake(LOVE that), however, the Native Titan 13.5 or the Pred PDL 13 will be in my arsenal real soon, the PDL is already at a disadvantage since u have to add ur own gear tracks to the plastic plates....meh I guess!!
So glad you demoed for yourself! That’s how you learn what works for you. I’m surprised about the cavitation issue. Did it have the Titan specific prop? I’ve spent a fair amount of time in and and have not felt that. The new bull nose prop helped a ton on the 13.5 and comes standard on the 12.
Headwaters Kayak I'm not sure but like I was saying it seems like that particular one didnt get the better prop it was still the longer rounded -edge prop....does yours have the flat edge short prop on it?
Really wish my local shop wouldn't of stopped carrying native. They carry hobie and jackson. Feel free lure has my eye for sure. The fact I can add a peddle drive later is a big plus for me. Do you guys ship kayaks? Unfortunately not near you guys. Live in the 4 corners region of Colorado
Hey dan. I'm headed up to you guys next week Monday to Wednesday gonna rent a 10.5 Tuesday for the day I'll come in your shop Monday to chat about the boat. 😁👍
Greg Blanchard and I will be doing the Titan lineup at the end of the month. Or better yet Get your butt to Lodi and we can pedal both and you can be the TH-cam Star. haha.
Headwaters Kayak I am considering doing that very thing. I’d like to bring my son and daughter (both teenagers) and have them be able to do various demos of both craft and paddle. How much would a full day cost us to be able to spend some time with you and have the opportunity to experience a few different things? Very interested in buying 3 new kayaks this season. Just purchased for our youngest, and this endeavor will serve us well, as long as we are fully informed prior to purchase.
Drew Fisher you know what I can’t honestly say. I’ve worked on a few Old Towns but I’ve never pedaled one. I’m a big Native fan. Their customer service is second to none and their drive is the most proven prop drive out there.
I know I currently have a paddle kayak but that bonafide just looks to darn good but I really like the native at the same time for the hands free fishing decisions decisions

I've been paddling a Sea Ghost 130 for the past 4 years, and was considering the Titan 12. Great informative video.

Prynce Al demo both and let me know your thought. I’m curious if the extra $700-$800 is worth it.
Headwaters Kayak Yes sir will do!!

Been wanting to see the Titan 12 in action and that looks sweet. Thank you for the video.
I want a comparison of Titan and Old Town Sportsman. Battle of the prop-pedal drives!
That would be a fun review. I hope old town will send me some boats next year.
@@HeadwatersKayak How do the 2022 models compare? Any major changes?
Great review as always looking to buy next year there a lot cop cat companies but only one Native

Back4D Outdoors bummer man. I don’t ship kayaks at all. To much liability.
Headwaters Kayak np figured I'd ask. Enjoy your videos. Probably order through Austin Kayak. Seem to be a good company

Awesome review Dan!
I’d like to see y’all fully swamp a Titan. They are supposed to be foam injected, and float, right?
Hey Dan, how would you say the 12 does in small rivers and creeks with a paddle? Thanks Bro.
Very nice review
Another nice review Dan!! Possible to get a "why did he buy" between a Native Titan 12 vs Native Titan 13.5? I'm debating between those two. Thanks!!

What upgraded gaskets ? U talking about the plungers ?
I want one of those boats how do I get 1 copper 125 Titan
Great sales tactic haha !!!! How could you go back to a lesser boat after that ....
Does the Titan 12 come with the front storage liner?
K Nguyen no it does not.
Headwaters Kayak, how much is the storage liner?
How would you compare the Titan to the Old Town Predator PDL?
Drew Fisher you know what I can’t honestly say. I’ve worked on a few Old Towns but I’ve never pedaled one. I’m a big Native fan. Their customer service is second to none and their drive is the most proven prop drive out there.
Headwaters Kayak thanks for the reply. I Guess I'll just have to check them both out. Thanks again Dan.
I want one!!!! But I'm broke!!!! Damnnnn it!!!!
Do they still make the 13.5?
Fisher Mann yes they do. We just sell far more 10.5 and 12. I’ll be doing a comparison review of all three soon.
Headwaters Kayak I just saw a video where a guy put a 3.5 up motor on a Titan. It worked great 😁
I get the water issue. You buy a boat and expect water in it? Like thats normal? I see where you are coming from.
I'm stuck between the titan 12 and the bonafide ss127 they both look good
Both are great. To pedal or not to pedal that is the question.
