    - Other minor works on A deck, preparing for lighting.
If you want to see more regular updates have a look at my Instagram page (same name as the channel). I post photos as I'm building there so you don't have to wait for the videos to be edited!

Wow the ship sitting on the shelf looks awesome so far. You need a chopper from Micro Mark so you can cut multiple pieces same length very quickly and easily. I've got one and it works wonderful for cutting multiple pieces of the same length. Good video. 👍

Great video, when you brought the camera down and looked down the walkway there, I thought I was standing on the ship looking down that corridor. Wow! You're doing such a fantastic job bringing this ship to life. Looking so forward to your next video.

Well done Rob, arduous job! I actually stumbled across a picture taken on the Olympic of the pocket doors fully cranked open today! They seem to be rarer than hens teeth! Yours look about right from what I could see in the photograph. Anyway great job on the deck beams. Regards JH 😉

Hi there, thanks! Yes certainly a bit of a pain.
Good find on the photo! I am still yet to find one of the doors opened. Plenty closed but none open!
      Hope Olympic is going ok?
      Thanks,

@@TheModelBoatGuy Hi Rob, yes all good here but a mandatory large garden maintenance impedes my modelling time in the summer, such as it is! Main shell plating done and propeller shaft wings and shafts now installed and very strong. (tough job). I will have to shell plate those. New bow hawse installed. Furniture and more passengers now arrived and stored. I went for the Woody's PE A deck beam kit which will save me a shed load of time eventually! Regards JH

@@johnnyhollis9977 aah yes garden maintenance. I did some of that last year and crikey I underestimated how physical it all was! Glad the shell platings done. Bow hawes is a great addition. I am flirting with adding one myself but I feel it might be a wee bit late in the build for this sort of retro fitting! We shall see.
That woodies PE set is great, I’ve seen a few images of it now and it looks the business. I think for me a touch too heavy that high out the water but it’s certainly the best way to go for looks.
Thanks for the reference, I’ll have a look at the RMS Olympic book and see, a very well tracked down photo!
      Keep well,

think i would have used some bits of VHB tape while temporarily working and left the walls on then just pushed the beam sticks up to the wall and flush trimmed them at the outer end, might have been a little less tedious as you'd be trimming them all flush to each other rather than following the walls ad varied lengths, and a quick run across the ends with a nail file stick would/will even out the straight sides pretty well. The bolts would have been the best move though for sure though.

Aye I know, just haven’t painted it yet because I want to add the lights first, then paint so the paint covers the wires as much as possible.
Once the LEDs are in I’ll paint and also add a black wash for some dirt and grime

@@TheModelBoatGuy Haha, awesome. Will need to watch that again. I’ve probably seen Titanic 100+ times. Mostly because I was always fascinated by the story since I was a kid and the movie gave me the first opportunity to get a feeling of what it was like onboard. As all my research back then pertained to books only.
Planned a Titanic model already as a teenager (30 years ago) and wanted to make it HO (OO) scale🤔

I have here a cuestion.. ¿Is the central propeller not a 4 blade one in the original ship?.

    • @TheModelBoatGuy
      @TheModelBoatGuy  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

There are no existing photos of Titanics propellers, and the central propeller is buried deep in mud at the bottom of the ocean. So in short we don’t really know.
For many years it was thought that like her sister ship Olympic, Titanic also used a 4 bladed central propeller, but recently an engineering notebook from Harland and Wolff was discovered which suggests the ship used a 3 bladed propeller.
This is a good article on it should you wish to read (and I have also made a video about it):
