    Man, that is absolutely badass! You're like me, modeling ridiculous levels of detail that most of which you're never going to see once it's all together. Lol. good work!

    Love what you've done with the dome and cover for the Grand Staircase. It really looks fantastic, and definitely adds to the realism of this beautiful ship. It is really sparking memories of the movie. Thanks.

    Thanks for taking us through this. If I decide to buy the brass domes, I am in the fortunate position of having access to a doming block and punches, which will make forming the circular dome a lot easier. Naturally, they won't help with the oval dome. Happy modelling.

    Thank you for another entertaining video. Glad to also see you in person, as Andrew wrote, to have a face to the voice. Love the soothing sound of your clock ticking in the background also. Looking forward to your next upload 👍

    An opaque translucency allows the perspect to cascade ambient light to the environs about the staircase proper. The use of guilt intertwined with the black hues of the balustrade fitted to the oaken structure was really quite striking. A ship of dreams that could avail itself to artificial electric lightings to accentuate the beauty at low light levels. Daylight providing a constantly changing ambiance as well.

    So I just figured out and was very disappointed as I’m almost done my build, I’m on the people painting part which I must say is horrible but I came across some footage that I missed somehow which shows the first class promenade deck where you would look outside between the large openings with the stanchions from mid ship to the stern was a wooden top railing or banister and the same below it at the very rear that matched the top although a lot shorter. I’ve now painted it and it looks amazing but noticed that you and everyone else building this kit aside from Ben from Midwest Model has not painted it,he used photo etch from Woodys but anyways thought I would mention it and am curious wether of not you will bother. Thank you and take care

    I know you lit the dome from inside the dome, but did you ever consider lighting around the inside of the protective skylight as was done on the real ship? Do we know enough how that was arranged to do so?

      It’s Isopropyl alcohol. You can get if of the internet in loads of places.
      White spirit would also work here I reckon 🙂

    Yes, finally a new video:) The dome looks amazing 👏 Really great work 👏 Like I've mentioned, I've purchased the set myself and are waiting for some wood deck and other items.. But i live in a backwater country called Norway, so the job of finding parts and extra pieces i want is a nightmare. It doesn't help that i don't trust online shopping outside Norway either. But one day i will have my Titanic ready in all her glory:) Keep up the good work and i will be looking forward to your next upload.

    Where did you get all this stuff? I didn't know they made mixture glass domes for the titanic

    • @TheModelBoatGuy
      @TheModelBoatGuy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Most of the products and tools used are in the video description. The glazing is resin mixed with paint :)

  • @mrsegundas3988
    @mrsegundas3988 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is an excellent addition to the model. Can you actually see any of the staircase through the dome following your glazing method? If not then the alignment issue with the kit staircases and the holes in the decks that you identified in an earlier video goes away.

    Wow. Thank you so much, this is so amazingly informative! Do you think it would be possible at all to use tiny magnets for the dome and cover so that they could be removed to view the staircase? It seems such a shame to do all that work on the staircase to just end up covering it up...

    Good evening, video always so well explained. I ordered AFT and FWD stairs from Eustaquio, can you tell me which one mounts at the front and at the back knowing that AFT is much smaller than the FWD. Thank you in advance for your answer, Sincerely,

    Your dome looks amazing! I've been checking out the site for those parts, and they've got quite a few things I'd like to grab for the Agora/Hachette model. One kit I'm likely going to be ordering in the next month because it features the front nameplates, which I need for the model I'm doing. And I may do these for whenever we would get to the Grand Staircases, along with some extra staircase parts (not sure at the moment how they're doing their staircase, but I want to make mine highly detailed like this).
    One thing I wondered watching this. Your method looks amazing, and obviously it works great. But with as time consuming as it is, it's got me wondering. Could you not get the same result by masking off the top of the dome, dropping in just a thin layer of clear resin, curing it, then spraying it down with some frosted glass paint? I just wonder if that would create the same effect as this, but be much quicker to do.
