    The premise of high school debate is actually terrible, it's just empty 'clever' rhetoric and not searching for universal truths. Why are we...."arguing"? Why aren't we putting all our minds together and using all the resources and tools we can to find the Correct answer to the question, or the Best Possible answer. High school debate directly promotes anti-philosophical thinking in favor of talking fast to show off your 'quick wit' just for the sake of quick wit. I thought we considered the notion of "whoever talks the loudest and the fastest gets all the attention and praise," to be inherently ill for society, and yet we want our kids to do it.

      Sometimes the best possible answers are found from discussions like those in a debate 🤷‍♂️ and talking the “loudest and fastest” won’t pay off but presenting the strongest arguments confidently does. Frankly, it’s not that deep
