Tesla Model 3 Long Range On Highway & Genting - So Surreal So Silent So Quick | YS Khong Driving

- We drive yet another Tesla Model 3 fan car up Genting, and this time we have to thank Brendon, our fan who let us have his 4-day-old car to take up our favorite mountain.
The Tesla Model 3 Long Range has a range of 629 km when driven sedately, but even on Genting with all the hard pushing, it just used about 30 percent of the range ( about 180km of range) for the 15 or so kilometers of climbing with 300+ km range remaining. No more range anxiety!
With dual motors we get drive to both front and rear axles, so traction is good.
This is the facelifted Tesla Model 3, and specked up by Brendon with everything including the Autopilot feature.
Do watch the video - and do not be fooled by the lack of sound - the car is pretty quick.

Car looks good on the road but how's the after sales support? E.g if got body damage who to find to repair & how's the repair cost like?
Good question - depends on which part of the body gets damaged. If it involves the batteries in any way I hear you have to replace the entire set.

Also, @YS Khong Driving. Your speed is blurred but next to the speed limit icon it shows your speed on the cruise control limiter. So we can still see your speed 😂

If there is time attack record, this tesla might be the fastest on genting circuit hill climb😆 . exit launch from corner like nothing , yet climbing somemore. Do the understeer caused by the new tyre or wheel? because i rarely heard about it from other test drive of this car. BTW, brandon look chill, but i bet somehow his heart over 150bpm 😆
due to crap tyre..its eco tyre. I think this size got pilot sport 5. if change into that, then it can fly even faster without losing grip
Don't think so, there is still a weight there, can't beat law of Physics. Besides even Tesla is fast , Nurburgring records for instance shows ICE car with similar power still beat Tesla

of go down the hill how much will it recharge back, to how many percentage, did Genting got any Tesla supercharger? when staying overnight at the hotel it’s best the car can recharge back
It normally uses only a few perce t to come back down because of regen. No there is no Supercharger in Genting
4 second car for less than RM250k? That’s a real game changer. 600km ++ WLTP range to boot as well…

a 4.4 second 0-100 in a passengar car, is completely useless. 7 seconds is all you can use on public roads. Coming from someone who's owned a 4.4 second.

@@rabbitcat5371 A car slow enough to safely overtake , 7 sec is more than enough to overtake comfortably. 7 sec is not enough, if the car you want to overtake is doing like 120, 130, which is over the limit. In terms of traffic standstill, 0-50 is more important, you can look this up, 0-50 for a 7 second car is 2.5 sec-ish, for a 4 sec car is 1.6-1.8sec, the difference is under a second. Most of the benefit of a low 0-100 time only comes after 50km/h.
How is the wind and road noise? It seem like a bit loud
Uncle, check the break temperature after hill climb. I think its not as hot as you would think, cause of the regen breaking

Auto pilot is another name for adaptive cruise control.
Sorry my bad, when what I should have posted was Enhanced Autopilot instead of just normal Autopilot. I believe Brandon's Model 3 comes with Enhanced Autopilot so I was hoping to see some of its functionality such as Navigate on Autopilot and Auto Lane Change.

btw you as a normal driver wont utilize the maximums potential of the car even in track... at the end price is what matter here.. n EV car pick up is so quiet and smooth... unless you prefer loud engine n exhaust noise.

Upgrade to Michelin Pilot Sport EV tire, most likely will solve understeer issue
Michelin Pilot Sport EV may not better than the Model 3 OE Hankook ION evo. The EU label of Pilot Sport EV is BAB while ION is AAA.

Brabus is a little faster, but this one is lower.
Only Pakcik YS Khong can pludge the ev paddle hard at Genting with the rarest car review despite it's Malaysia and do it better than other ytbers.

Wait until Toyota Mirai comes to the shore, but of course with infrastructure of refuelling hydrogen, all it takes like refuel petrol 3 to 4 mins and off you go, no need to wait hours for recharging

Bear in mind, hydrogen not burning but blast. EV car can charge at home or any place with electricity (matter of waiting time) but you can’t get a hydrogen refuel station within 100km radius.
And next gen solid state battery gonna reveal within 10 years time, it expect to takes only 10 min charge to give you a 700km rang. A full charge estimate to be 1000km and battery is at least half of weight of liquid based battery. Without liquid in battery the car technically said very hard to get burn even if got accident. In this case why do we need hydrogen?

Thing that I dont like about Ev car is the duration of fully recharge which it takes almost an hour. If any ev car manufacturer can make fast charging as we refuel petrol car in some minutes then i'b consider Ev in the future.
If you use daily for work or any short distance trip, just use ac charger at home overnight twice a week is enough.
Fast charging your battery all the time is no good
when it's a different technology, you use it differently boss, using an EV makes you plan your trips better hahahah break for lunch and charge 30min is enough to get you going again
ev technology will involve very fast. dont worry.
It's better for the battery life to charge every day at home from 40 to 60 % than twice a week from 20 to 90%.
