- Many thanks to Shawn Loong, for the loan of his Tesla Model Y Long Range, which enabled us to check it out on the mountain!
The Model Y Long Range comes with dual motors and has a bigger battery that provides a longer range, and we naturally were curious too, as to how it would do on the mountain, so there we were, on a beautiful morning.

Shawn’s face throughout the experience (or shall I say ordeal) is just priceless 😂… Bravo to Uncle, always give 110%, even in an SUV..

Probably the most riveting drive by YS thus far. Early on M6 driver made mistake by opening the door and YS took full advantage of it. You could see the M6 pull away on the straights but YS's masterly rally driving skills at the corners made the difference and soon intimidated the M6 I think. When YS slowed down to take a sip you could see the M6 charging back. M6 driver quite skillful in shifting down at the right moment. Love the sound from the V10. M6 seemed to vindicate ICE not quite ready for extinction yet.
No, I say this is a proof that ICE is on its way out. Come on, this is a long range Y, not the performance variant and the M6, a freaking M6 is struggling against a regular long range Y.

A SUV have very high center of gravity so it cannot handle well . Its why all sports car is very low. If its a Tesla 3 or Byd seal it be a totally different game.
I hope in text series you woudl include an inset video of your footwork while driving, your driving set is amazing.

Uncle YS catch word for today's drive is "anything that can fly will fly" very apt esp. after overtaking the Beemer M6 (and the Beemer 'abuk pun tarak', after Uncle left him high and dry at phase 1, but M6 was a good driver too) . Truly enjoyed this video that shows so much of the safe driving aspects by Uncle YS driving 👏👏

Mind you that E63 M6 V10 is an old car. It was launched almost 20 years ago and went out of production in 2011

@@awangemas9505 technically even after 20 years it would be similar, as there are many Teslas which has gone above the 500k km mark which averagely equates to that period in time with probably just battery degradation or at most the motor - but all of which are wear and tear parts that are replaceable, which we can all assume the M6 or any other car needs to replace parts. But if you're expecting a different outcome, it's unlikely 🤷♂

Otherwise Uncle Khong should cut that noisy ice car. There are some racing mode car drivers waiting once car enter genting route path. Normally they operate in several cars. They pick potential drivers to try to race. Quite dangerous if driver fall into their “invitation” seduction.

uncle can explain why you are talking about "losing power" my car 10% fuel still giving 100% power. never heard of any car low fuel will cut power

Approx 40% battery consumption for 1 genting trip..🤦🏻
to be fair he is driving on sport mode and flooring the pedal, the rate of battery drain goes exponential the faster you drive
actually you can gain more than 20 percent downhill with regen breaking
40% up and -10% down. So total 30%.
dont think the bmw had a good driver, it down shifted like it was on Auto and braked mid corner in some places, and braked early before corners. YS saying the fella was quite a good driver was him being polite. BMW could have maintain mid-RPM range in between corners but because the car is old perhaps finding spare parts is more of a challenge. Model Y did struggle because it kept sliding to the left and right probably because of its weight and 3rd passenger and 200kgs more. Its already impressive that the Y can almost keep up to this BMW M6 driven by someone else, but the Y just lacked the consistency. Its like driving a petrol car only to have a failed turbo 200m from the end, in this case pre-programmed every single time !
the only thing EVs are good for are time attacks, maybe 2 laps ?. conventional preproduction races will not work with an EV. on the road, EVs are range sensitive vs speed, the degradation is faster compared to ICE on higher speeds. if the genting was twice as long, do people really think that a Y can keep up ? short lived glory vs podium glory.

@@foreverl6751 that's because whoever installed the antiroll bar has no idea how the vehicle works. It is a heavy car and installing random antiroll bar in Malaysia is just a no no. It is perfectly capable without a random antiroll bar that "presumably" does something. Also, tesla's EV tyre are made for comfort ride and specifically designed to create less noise, hence it is not suitable for this kind of driving. It doesn't matter what he said, because seal's weight and less sporty design says otherwise. You can watch many other videos that would prove you otherwise. Because it is not his vehicles, he doesn't push them to the limit. He still has common sense and respect to vehicle owners. No matter what, he wouldn't push all the vehicles to the max - especially EVs with dodgy EV tyres.
And to answer your question properly - no, SEAL wouldn't toast BMW. Also MODEL 3/MODEL Y wouldn't toast either. Mainly because BMW has better handling.
