    Well done!! This has to be one of the best disassembly videos on TH-cam. Just one question,, on this particular model there is a flimsy white metal tab/bar in front of the hammer at rest..... it is moulded as part of the frame and I've seen on different forms where this piece gets snapped off for whatever reason but I can't see a reason for it anyway. Too flimsy to be an actual hammer block as its only attached on one side. Would you have any guess as to what it is? Can't see it having any affect on the function of the firearm either,,wether there or not lol....cheers

      If it doesn't affect function, probably just there as a part either to reduce wear or make it easier to assemble. Just a guess.

    I just picked one of these up and it looked as though it had never had more than a basic cleaning... DAMN!!! It was dirtier than a hog in the mud! Nearly as dirty as my mind even!!! In any case, this was super helpful so I could do a complete disassembly to clean ever nook and cranny, as well as polishing the sear and trigger bar!!! THANK YOU!!!!

    Thanks for showing this, awesome job. Funny, I service firefighters air packs & masks which I think is easier to do than assembling of this gun.

    I just really want to thank you for putting this video out there. I am very good at breaking down dam near every gun in our house, but the little .22 pistols are very different animals. Last year my wife accidentally dropped her S&W 22 pistol in the sand/dirt in Wisconsin and the gun was never right after that. This is a gun that really needs to be completely taken down and cleaned after that type of event. Just taking it down to a basic breakdown and blowing it out with an air compressor just doesn't work when the parts are this tiny. Every time I opened up the gun there was sand grit on some part that was causing it to jam. Because of your video I was able to save the gun and a lot of money. I know there were not a ton of views or likes on this video, but I really liked the quality and time you put in to making this, and it helped me out a lot. THANK YOU!!!

      They really are different animals, aren't they? Normal on the outside, but the inside is an alien landscape.

    You are a lifesaver.... my M&P22 has been sitting in pieces since I got over-zealous and disassembled it "freestyle", then had no idea how to get it back together again. Thanks for the great video!

    Not bad . I'm getting a m@p 22. I see how easy it is to change parts now. The video helps greatly.
    Thanks.

    Very nice! The kind of detail you need to do this job. Thanks for taking the time to do this video. I've got several of these I use for training and they're about due for thorough cleaning, so this video is of real value to me.

      No problem. These 22's can be goofy and when I prepped to disassemble this one, I couldn't find any solid info on the process.

    Outstanding video sir! Extremely informative! Would anyone know if there is an aftermarket slide release for this pistol?

    Great Video. I love my M&P. Just a correction. You stated that the "take down lever" has to go in during assembly but I've found that if you simply route it another quarter turn in the same direction after you pop it up it comes right out. So it can be the first item to be removed and the last to be put in. Hope this helps...

    Thank you. This was exactly as detailed as it needed to be without unnecessary bad jokes, or cat humor! :)

    Great video. But I still don’t understand how to remove the magazine safety. Seems like you kinda breezed right past that part at the critical time. Is it the little silver part at 15:48? You don’t just place it back in when reinstalling?

    • @ShadetreeArmorer
      @ShadetreeArmorer  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You just omit it.

      Yes, I think you ended it up covering it later on during reassembly. Thanks so much! Also a member at M&P forums which is how I found this video.

    @ShadetreeArmorer is there any way to contact you directly? I have questions about this gun and you're the only person I've found who knows more than how to field strip it.

    • @ShadetreeArmorer
      @ShadetreeArmorer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't have it in my possession any longer and my memory of detail stripping it has faded. I made this video while it was all fresh, and that's probably where the best info is. But feel free to ask any question you have.

      @@ShadetreeArmorer I'm having an issue with the hammer strut slipping off the plunger/cup on top of the hammer spring and getting wedged in the channel next to the hammer spring. Any ideas why that would happen or what might be a decent fix for it?

    • @ShadetreeArmorer
      @ShadetreeArmorer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@theOriginal_ex811 was this happening before you took it apart?

    • @theOriginal_ex811
      @theOriginal_ex811 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ShadetreeArmorer it was not. as a matter of fact, it was running just fine until a couple of months ago, I was in the middle of a shoot and I got down to the last couple of targets and it "jammed" on me. I've spent the time in between trying to figure out what was happening and only just this week figured out it was that strut sliding off the plunger/cup and into the spring channel.

    • @ShadetreeArmorer
      @ShadetreeArmorer  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@theOriginal_ex811 I don't think it should be able to do that, honestly. Sounds like there might be some wear involved. If the orientation of the spring and plunger are correct, there's not much to go wrong during assembly.
