What most impresses me about Andy is how sincere his playing is. He does not stall or rush, he speaks from his heart through his fingers... you can’t ignore someone that speaks up his feelings so sincerely, technique at the service of human made art!
When we look up the definition of "Guitar Player" I say that Andy is . Strength in country lead Guitar , but relates to all types. Old Rock Star attitude is dead , We still find Genuine people such as Andy , thank you for the Inspiration and Answers.
Since working with the TrueFire Andy Timmons instructional videos, my playing has truly blossomed. I HIGHLY recommend learning guitar The Andy Timmons way. emotional. melodic. dynamic. inspiring. I can't wait to check out the new series with the 10 different backing tracks! Thanks for always so openly sharing your unique talents with us Andy. We love you bro!
Hes one of the top few players I love to listen to when it comes to instrumental guitar music and seems like a genuine person. He autographed a CD I had ordered with out me asking that was so cool I thought.
And this is why people love Andy Timmons.....He never fails to bring a tear to my eye, and to be able to play with that tone. He is literally the epitome of emotive playing....every note just freaking _drips_ ....... And all off-the-cuff improv. We're not worthy.
I do not know, but whenever I see Andy, his interviews, videos such as these or whatever related to him, there is uber feel-good factor, I do ot know why, but naturally, I wish the best for him. Such a phenomenal player, such grace and humility.
andy is one of those great people who just get it on how powerful music is and how it has the power to bring us altogether..all walks colors and creed..music transcends all of that and has been a constant since the dawn of man.he plays from his soul and you feel it..you dont just hear andy play..but you feel what he is playing as well..the stories he tells with his guitar are amazing.plus i have owned one his his signature guitars since they first came out many years ago and it is still one of my favorites because of its simplicity and versatility..one of the greatest for sure!!!
As I'm learning your style, I'm hearing a lot of experience, and time spent behind the guitar, your way ahead of a lot of us, I'm pulling in some of your licks, and hopefully I can retain some of your moves, it's what we all do,in the guitar community, thanks for sharing awesome playing.
So on that first track, the Bm to E7- he says that should be in E Dorian, I think (pretty sure actually) he meant B Dorian- because the E7 would be the dominant of A, making it B Dorian. It also appears to me that that is indeed what he plays.
Aside from his amazing chops and tone.. what draws me to his music is an undertone of nostalgia and romanticism in his tunes.. He knows how hit that shiver spot in a listener..
I swear this man was born with that left leg tapping. Anyone else noticed that about him. it's perfectly okay, though. it's how he keeps time. just a silly little thought. Mr. Timmons, you taught me my first everything through a VHS tape that I wore out on an Ibanez Cimar electric guitar. I bow before you, sir!
Andy has definitely moved to my top 5 in the last few years! Just so much feeling and musicality! His stage presence is amazing and guys like Vai / Gilbert have sounded “small” next to him. 💙🙏🎸
Allright... I need to get this course. Andy is incredible and what he is concentrating his lessons it’s exactly what my shortcomings happen as a musician.
So,I was watching an Olivia Newton John concert video on TH-cam,and the Guitar player looks very familiar.THEN I realized it was Andy Timmons ! Great all around Musician.
OK, and now I'll add my two cents for the second track- my opinion- solo in E Dorian over the first two chords (Em7 and A7) the switch to E Minor (aeolian) over the second two chords (CMajor7 and B7) - It'll be interesting to see and learn Andy's take on it when the videos come out- I'm buying for sure- (actually an annual member so I think I'll get it anyway!- three cheers for the top membership!)
I just want to check something. On the Cry for you video I got into an argument with a guy ( read idiot) who claims that Andy is a total Eric Johnson copycat and that even his tone is identical to Eric's. I don't hear it at all apart from maybe a slight influence. To me Andy is his own man with his own style and (great) sound and music. Am I crazy here?
Hey Everyone.. 1- What else can anyone say about Andy???? : / He is GREAT! muiscality for days.. 2- instead of trying to find ways to make money in the absence of an organized music buisness, bands, and great music, records, CDs, cassettes, posters, t shirts, and all that great stuff connected to MUSIC and MUSICIANS, *** YOU AND EVERYONE ELSE WHO HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH MUSIC, SHOULD BE PUTTING BACK TOGETHER THE OLD MUSIC BUISSNESS, ONLY THIS TIME, SUPPORTING THE ARTISTS, AND ALLOWING THEM TO BE WHO THEY ARE, AND MAKING A FAIR PRECENTAGE FOR HELPING THEM STAY ORGANIZED.. AS OPPOSED TO WHAT USED TO BE. DOMINANCE, GREED, SABATAGE, MANIPULATION, MONOPLY, TRYING TO CONTROL THE ARTISTS AND THEIR MUSIC, AND MORE GREED! AND WE NEED ANOTHER ORIGINAL MUSIC TELEVSION CONCEPT TOO! IF I HAD THE MONEY????? I WOULD BE DOING ALL THIS MYSELF!
smooth playing, i had heard the name but did not know anything that you played, now i do and i love the way you do your overbends, i just got a Ibanez left handed body and i look forward to getting a neck and building somthing nice , the cutaways are bigger and it is easier to play the upper register, Jan S.
Top of the line player. Unfortunately, a lot of top players don't teach all that well. Truefire has a big collection of these. Better to find a mediocre player that knows how to teach. POW music.
Andy, I think you forgot to mention that there is a more affordable version of you guitar now, the AT10P. Hang on, I just checked, I think it's discontinued now, did it not work out well then?

Yeah, really well put. I totally agree.

Excellent playing Andy!
i love that guy as inspiring for me as robben ford or larry carlton great great of my favorite guitarists !
O timbre mais lindo que já ouvi!(opinião)
One of the greatest for sure! By the way, throughout this session we all see several times why strap locks are useful!
AWESOME FEEL
So Glad I found this... an interview about "Luke" brought me here!
Timmons can rock out and groove. He can play some nice jazzy blues lines.
When is this course available? Such a genuine guy and player. Lucky to have met him and seen him play live. Unreal experience
It's now available for pre-order: truefire.com/pre-orders - will be released September 5th.
This is beautiful. OK dumb gear question from a guy with limited knowledge - what Ibanez model is that - that comes with the dual rail pickups?
The playing on here to put it bluntly, totally bad ass.
Oh my G... Andy is just crazy good.. top 3 of my list
His tone and the way hes playing are too tasty man
Mr. Timmons is a beast!
Beautiful tone.

Hear some Wes Montgomery and Johnny A influences here. Really nice. Timmons is definitely in their class.
Jim Ford Johnny A...so underrated!
Sweet sweet sounds! Your dedication is shown by the filthiness of your fretboard! Hahah. Soo good.
Awesome!

Thanks Andy & TrueFire. Don't worry Andy, that wasn't a mistake, it was a chromatic passing / tension / outside note ;-)
The last jam played was my favorite. I would like to hear that with a vocal and released.
