Hi
Hello
You should torture test a p80!!
12/15 that's my birthday
You should do a whole video with Scooter 🛵 that guy is way funnier than you 😂
Fun Fact: Here in Germany there had been found an original FG42 on the bottom of the river rhine. And it was like new! There was no corrosion at all, because the mud sealed it from air and therefore also oxygen.
I hope that got put in a museum and wasn't destroyed

Na definitely met a band saw. Europeans have no respect for historical arms nowadays.
Yeah, that's the exception, not the rule. Pretty much any firearm that was preserved in the same conditions would also not have corrosion.
The visible sparks flying out when they fire is obviously the powder not burning completely. I'd say that was solely the ammo deteriorating over the 100 days. Very interesting test. Thanks for doing this!
Beside of these outstanding Glocks, that Underwood ammo still firing is very impressive. Even if you have to cycle manually.
I would guess moisture ingress into the cartridges is causing the deterioration.
How much shelf life ammo usually have before they're considered bad? And do they have such markings on the packet or do you just have to know it? Questions are assuming you've stored them in proper environment; dry and stable temperature.

The magazine in the frozen gun probably got expanded by the water freezing in it which would explain the sound it was making as something was loose inside it now. I'm impressed how well all the glocks did after 100 days. I knew glocks were great guns, but this just proves it.
The rattling was the spring and the plate being attached to.
Dissapointed you didn't call it the zip-glock bag.
ooo that would’ve been hilarious😂❤
Its ironic that you just did this video and 8 days later Mr Glock died at 94. He left a pretty amazing legacy with a legendary gun to boot. Awesome video!

Golden age of firearms. Both the Glocks and M&Ps have survived some wild tests recently on TH-cam
I think this turned into an ammo test as much as a gun test. I'm betting a lot of the problem was moisture intrusion into the powder because they all looked to be short stroking, but new ammo worked fine.
Agreed. Without waterproof/sealed primers it’s hard to control for bad ammo
Amy issues are because of the ammo being in them. Ammo and some mag springs don't have the coatings the guns do.
Yes. I have the same conclusion.
@@C420sailor A major gun magazine did an ammo submersion test test a few years ago to see how much sealed primers make a difference. The results were definitive- ammo with sealed primers were completed unaffected by submersion, even for many months. Ammo with unsealed primers could be affected by moisture in a just a few hours of submersion. Every serious gun owner should keep some Markron on hand, which is a mil-spec primer sealant sold at Midway USA and Brownells. Federal uses Markron to seal their primers with at the factory. If civil war breaks out in this country, ammo may become very difficult to get or insanely expensive. All of your existing ammo is exposed to moisture whenever it's loaded in your gun's magazine. But if the primers on all your critical self defense ammo are sealed, you can rest easy knowing that your ammo is not being affected and will last well into the future.
Premium defense ammo like Federal HST has their primers factory sealed ;)
You can tell a lot of thought went in to this. Well done Scott.

It would be interesting to see a similar test where you measure the penetration of ammo left in fresh water, salt water, ice, direct buried and buried in a zip lock bag, or any other environment you can come up with...

Ive been a regular watcher for about 2 years now. I have never fired a real firearm in my life. But this channel has taught me so much about firearms in these 2 years and i think its better to be (sort of) educated about guns and never fire one than to be uneducated and ignorant and also never fire one.
Edit: I should also mention to everyone saying I should fire one. It's not that I don't want too. I am afraid of firearms. After a run in with some bad people it scared me pretty bad. I wouldn't be opposed to shooting one day but it's not a priority right now due to my fears. This channel definitely helps with getting over it though. The more I educate myself the less I fear them :)

I am so glad you never gave up on the "You just got jammed" inserts!!! Freakin' hilarious!!
It never gets old.
I think the mud glock just still has too much mud in it. There's nothing wrong with the ammo, it's just short stroking because of the friction. The +p ammo has more energy to push with and so it's fully cycling the action.
hes usin the same ammo just new and not the stuff left underground. hes using 147 underwood +p in both instances
The new ammo ran fine.
The 100 day old wet and muddy ammo lost its kick
It’s short stroking because it’s clamped in a vice!!!
@@veiledallegory I thought the same thing. If the grip was clamped too tightly, compressing the magazine spring and ammunition, it would prevent the bottom of the slide from gliding over the next round in line, slowing the slide velocity, and possibly leading to short stroking.
Damp powder. Moisture finds a way into ammo.
RIP Gaston Glock.
Really enjoyed this one. Good info, thank you!
Love how Scott decided to shoot the second one left handed. It’s like the subconscious thought of if this goes bad I still have my right! 😂
After you did the first test, You should have used the obviously messed up ammo in a perfectly maintained weapon to see how the ammo functioned after the 100 days, and just used clean ammo in the rusted guns to see how guns functioned with clean ammo. Could have tested both parts in cleanest possible way
That old wet ammo is a squib waiting to happen.
that misses the point of this test of if the gun was left out with ammo in it
I agree, it sounds like some of the malfunctions were caused by a sticky firing pin rather than the ammo.
Could hear it was very delayed and soft sounding when he was dry firing them.
Yes, but it would be good to know which the point of failure was. Could have added a couple extra mags of ammo to each test.
@@randylahey2242

This was an awesome video. I’m not a Glock lover but for reliability, this certainly proved the Glock was on the top of the list. Ammo obviously was affected by the moisture.
Quite a few others just as capable. Just so many are in love with Block
@@1014p prove it
@@d2profit907
Garand Thumb, has a series testing multiple firearms at once for many different manufacturers.
@@1014p People love Glocks because Glock has a reputation for making reliable firearms. It's not that people don't think there are other guns that are just as, if not more capable than Glocks; it's that Glock has a good reputation, if something has a good reputation then people are more willing to buy it over something that's cheaper but doesn't have as much of a reputation.
@@NinjaBray I've never liked Glock, not for reliability reasons, but for their grip angle. For me, the Springfield XD lineup has my preferred grip angle as well as reliability that equals or exceeds that of Glock. It's all about preference really these days, as Glock is (as mentioned) not the only one that has reliability in mind. I would like to think that if Glock had a different grip angle I would probably own one... and yes, I could adjust my grip, but my natural draw and target acquisition is muscle memory, as well as the first time drawing with a Springfield it was in line with my visual sight pattern, where the Glock was angled and I had to make a conscious adjustment.
Should try some of the test ammo through a chronograph to see how much slower they are. Love the videos, keep up the wonderful job u are doing
I was thinking the same thing, they even sounded under powered which obviously they were….
Come on, you know what even underpowered ammo will do to the chronograph haha

Keep em coming Scott. We all love the content.peace from London ✌️
In the mid '90s, I was out shooting jackrabbits in southwest Idaho. I accidentally dropp my Glock and it spent September to April in an alkaline mud puddle. I happened to see barely sticking out of the dirt. It had one up and the slide and mag wouldn't move.. after cleaning, I shot the rounds that were in it to see if they would fire. It is still my daily carry almost thirty years later.
Now it’s time to test better ammo like hornady critical duty that has a sealed primer and case mouth.
Fun fact for corrosive ammo shooters that don't already know. It's the primer compound that causes the corrosive property of the ammo, which is a salt (if I remember correctly). Best way to clean a firearm after shooting corrosive ammunition is to use boiling water. It dissolves the "salts" and evaporates off of the steel almost immediately, make sure everything is dry and add your lube of choice
How would one know if their ammo used this corrosive primer
Old chinese and eastern european surplus is what would most commonly be corrosive in my experience @@stewartyates4510
I use Windex. The ammonia pulls all that corrosive stuff and powder residue out of the barrel. Way easier than boiling water
I mean if the water evaporates off it would leave the salts behind. that's just basic chemistry so what it's really doing is just spreading the salts around. you'd be better off washing it multiple times with boiling water then wiping it down after
@@berennicholas5003my immediate thought. Salt doesn’t evaporate with your boiling water. Duh.
I like your destruction test and this is even better, I’d love to see some rest of how fragile/durable different guns are maybe put them through getting covered in mud/sand/water and being used in different ways
Fantastic video. Thank you.

I always made fun of the Glock cultists, but hey ol' man Gaston knows his stuff. The dang tupperware works every time 😂. Good video Scott 👍
Scott you need to contact Matt at the Demolition Ranch and ask him what he’s done to HiPoint pistols as torture tests. I bet that Glock would not survive.
my thoughts exactly
Hipoint are ugly as sin, but owned the .45 before and I dare say it’s the most reliable one I’ve ever owned, even more so than the Glock, SW, etc. I fed it clean, dirty, Russian steel, brass, aluminum, hot, etc and it didn’t even matter…never once had a failure and it was actually accurate too. Plus, the hipoint warranty is THE golden standard warranty. A company that stands by its warranty 100%. The criminal looking down the barrel doesn’t care if what’s in your hand cost $100 or $1000…
@@Deetroiter I bought a HiPoint 9C when they first came out, it was 165 dollars out the door, used it for a truck gun. It would feed anything I put through it with the exception of hollow points. I took it to my buddy who gunsmith’s and he polished the feed ramp and barrel, there was a burr that was stopped them from feeding. After I got it back I put thousand rounds through it with no issues. It was heavy and ugly but built like a tank.
Got dang, that "you just got jammed" clip was doing nearly as much work as the glocks. Those things are made to *last.*
