Crawler Canyon Quickview: JConcepts The Hold (1.9" Class 2 Crawler Tires)

My definition of "quick" might not fall in line with others. But I've got you know, things to say.

hello again, I've always washed the tires with some dawn soap to take off any release agent. also working on motorcycle tires we always put baby powder in the in side of the tire. it makes the tube slide better. i also do the same on these tires, sems to mount easier. Just throwing that out there. thanks for the review. going to order a set.

This is my class 2 tire of choice right now. I run them backwards and the lugs just grab onto everything. They seem to fold over less when running them backwards in my testing. Running 4.75 anti foams that are slightly undersized for an air down effect and they work fantastically.

When I used to race many years ago, Jconcepts were my go to tires. On my crawler trucks, I've been nothing but, impressed with Jconcepts crawler tires. I recommend using a DSM Off-road Beadlock Buddy V2 for mounting tires on beadlocks. It makes it a breeze.

I mounted mine backwards it seems. I am new to crawling and just mounted these to some nice looking SST wheels for my Capra, which I have yet to even run. Looks like I get to turn all my tires around now so I look like I know what I am doing. Thank you for the review.

A few years ago all my buddies got Super Swampers ‘cause they looked so good. The Swampers amounted to nothing more than utter disappointment. As much as these resemble Swampers the performance is astonishing; not just by comparison, but objectively speaking they are exceptional. I’m sold, Doc. There’s definitely a set in my future.

Yeah, I don’t get it at all. My experience with “parallel bar” tires in the past is that they work sorta OK, and only under the right circumstances. These things just straight grip.

I 3d printed a disk for the hub to lay in that hold the tire just off the bench.

I’m wondering if they would work better backwards if you swapped them on the vehicle? I’m thinking the weight bias may have made a difference with you just putting it in reverse vs swapping them physically.
