    I've been using two sided tape around the OD of the ring... Works pretty good

    I use 1.9 and 2.2 squid inserts but i dont have any side shift. Good to know this little hack though. Nice Joe 👍

    I suppose if you printed your own inserts, you could add a shallow groove in the inside of the insert so you can align the inner ring where it spins true, once you figure out the offset you want. Or add a small shoulder inside the insert to stop the inner ring from sliding. But I am purely just suggesting here. Great video, as usual!

    SL3D RC makes Squid’nserts for Negative G Inverse wheels, Proline wheels, Spec RC wheels that lock into the lock rings of those for zero side to side shifting!

    The one exception to this is some carbon fiber Chinazon wheels I use that I found on Amazon that have inner clamp rings that perfectly fit the Proline dual stage inner rings. I’ll link it later if you’re interested. They go great on Capra wheels too.

    Apply a little glue around the inside edge of the ring (the side being inserted into the tire), and as you install it, the glue is spred over the entire ring - no mess! Assemble the wheel/tire and lay the inside of the wheel on a flat surface. Push against the ring and ensure it is sitting flush. Let dry over night and Bob's your Uncle 😊

    I just use double sided Scotch tape on the OD of the ring, the real thin stuff in the yellow dispenser.

    Hi kitty!!

  • @misguided5421
    @misguided5421 ปีที่แล้ว

    You can also glue the ring, build the beadlock wheel and set a few 5# dumbells on the outside bradlock and push down on a flat table. Leave the dumbell for 24hrs and done.

    • @jerryvolpini7987
      @jerryvolpini7987 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just rest the wheel on it's inside edge and ensure the ring is sitting flush, then let dry. I wouldn't use weight, it can deform the insert and cause inconsistent results.

      @jerryvolpini7987 thanks for the advice but I haven't had an issue doing this yet. Using SL3D squid inserts....but I can see that possibly happening.

    Squid inserts for the comp cut Specrc wheels allow for zero shifting. But it’s a very expensive setup,especially the wheels😁

    question for you!!! is that one hole you have drilled on the sidewall all thats needed to vent a set of tires?

  • @rc-daily
    @rc-daily ปีที่แล้ว +2

    What I do is put a ring of double sided tape on the inner bead lock ring

    • @rc-daily
      @rc-daily ปีที่แล้ว +2

      And 3brc antifoams have the least amount of shift that I've found so far

  • @toolbaggers
    @toolbaggers ปีที่แล้ว

    The hole in the side wall (a fatal flaw in full-scale) means sand/dirt/water goes in, but won't come out. A maintenance nightmare as having unbalanced wheels/tires means poor performance and increased wear and tear.
    At least a hole in the tread means that centrifugal forces will not only actively keep sand/dirt/water out, but it will also tend to eject sand/dirt/water if it does enter the tire.

    • @jerryvolpini7987
      @jerryvolpini7987 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 3d printed inserts don't flex and breathe like normal inserts and a hole in the sidewall tends to work better. Besides, a hole in the tread NEVER evacuates all the water and very little dirt/dust. Not to mention, Joe is using beadlocks that can be disassembled and the water and dirt removed 👍

    Is this stuff easy to get off when you want to switch wheels or something?

  • @cheagle464

    Question, anyone.
    Painting a body, painters tape trimmed away at points. Forgot to run a fingernail over trimmed edges. DOH!! Ya, leakage.
    Can i use thinner on a swab to clean the leakage? Or will it damage the plastic? Not huge leaks, just like not crisp

  • @toolbaggers
    @toolbaggers ปีที่แล้ว

    Those rims are way too skinny for the tire width. It's not even close to what would be acceptable in full-scale.
