- Trying some JConcepts Holds. Just in the short amount of use, I’d say these are the best crawling tire I’ve used on a “trial rig”. 3 other brands I’ve tried never made any of these climbs.
Nice, I picked up a CJ7 myself at a swap meet, JConcepts Ruptures on the way and a Fusion Pro ready to go in.

I want to try those JConcepts holds. They look great on the CJ and look like they perform really well. I just picked up a set of the ruptures to try on it and love the landmines on my Ecto. Keep up the good work man! 👍 🤜🤛
Thanks man! I watched a guy do a 4 or 5 tire shoot out and the holds were the only one to pass all 5 obstacles. I figured I’d give them a try. I think I’ll keep them for rocks only and use my swamp claws and BFG km3’s for trailing and whatnot. I’d really love to try out an ecto in my fleet!
@@MidwestRCcrawler out of all my RCs the Ecto is hands down my favorite. Not the best clearance but it’s an excellent simple and extremely capable crawler.

Have you done overdrive gears in the front axle? I installed the SSD overdrive gears and they bind up pretty bad. I first thought maybe it was because of the Treal housings but there isn’t any marks on the inside.
I have done the overdrive ring and pinion in the front axle. I went with the treal gears. I did have some really bad binding at first and couldn’t figure out why. Would twist my axle back and forth between forward and reverse. When I installed my incision driveshaft, I must have had a brain fart. I had it in backwards and worse yet, it was out of phase. Got that all switched around and got it in phase and solved my issue. There should be nothing wrong with the SSD gears. I’ve heard of guys having to shim things inside the dif to make it a tighter fit, I still might do that, but since I’ve figured out my issue and “fixed” it, lol, I haven’t thought about it since. Hope that helps.
u have only changed the tires? the rest is stock?

Hobbywing Fusion pro 2300kv 2n1, nsdrc rs800v2 servo, Treal axles, rock pirates shock tower mounts, SSD brass knuckles, brass clamp rings, incision driveshafts, Treal 10% overdrive gears up front, Samix titanium high clearance links, Samix titanium pan hard bar, fine laser designs clipless system.
What inserts are you running?
On these, I’m just running a dual stage foam insert. I’d like to run the Injora inserts but they’re a tad too narrow for these tires.
