    Why did you swap out the pit bulls I have them in 2.2 on my wraith and have had them for 5 or 6 years and still love the tire. I'm just curious because I just got a gladiator so wondering what tires will be good on the rig

    Try hair donut they work just as good if not better. They are water proof and will always bounce back. Unbelievable I found some at a dollar store much cheaper than 20. or 30.00 foams. Check em out.

    I got my proline hyraxs and dual stage foams yesterday. Didn't watch a video on how to do it, and ended up doing almost this exact same procedure. Only one of my tires is wobbly, and now I know what I can do to fix it. Thank you.

    Hey I installed and followed all the instructions, but for some reason my middle ring on the beadlocks shifts in and out of my Hyrax wheels. Is this normal?

    • @upgradedrc3697
      @upgradedrc3697  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, if it is centered perfect and tightened down it should not move or have any play.

    I ride a Huskavarna 501C dirt bike here in SoCal and Baja, Mexico. Lots of sand, rocky and sometimes mud. We ride with between 10 - 14psi in our tires, which is low pressure. Not good for street rides. The reason is to flatten the tire and put more tread on the ground. The disadvantage is the risk of a pinch flat but the traction is better especially on cornering,getting through sand and mud. So why go with a harder tire on the RC? I'd think softer puts more tread/tire on the ground thereby getting better traction. No worries about pinch flats on RC tires. Thanks

    • @upgradedrc3697
      @upgradedrc3697  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, I was running 8 psi in my tires for the sand. And I raced motocross professionally for 13 years for Yamaha motorsport corporation. I've raced in every state and Canada and Mexico also.
      The reason the stiffer foam is better is because the weight of my rig is so heavy that the soft foam just rolls over on hills. the stiffer foam stops that . And the scale relationship probably puts my tires around 15psi which is perfect for where i"m at all rocks, no sand at all or i would go softer!

      @@upgradedrc3697 yeah it doesn't suprise me that you raced dirt bikes. You seem like that type of guy (meant as a compliment.) Thanks for the "experienced" reply. BTW, I meant I ride a 501S. It's street legal which makes it nice when hopping off a trail to get to another. Or riding on a trail that leads into a state park that is for licensed vehicles only. Yep same trail and it's something only a dirt bike can do! Unless you want to trash your 4WD. The difference? It crosses an imaginary boundry line. That's Kalifornia for you and we vote these legislators in! Nice place to visit but way too many idiots live out here.

    Hey, great video with very useful information.
    A quick question:
    Do you think it is not necessary to use locktite or any similar stuff on the screws?
    I use my Traxxas TRX4 Defender just to play around the house or on the backyard, +-10mph tops, no competition.
    I like to keep things very simple and I would only use it where I really have to. Some guys insist I should but it is extra steps and was wondering if it is essential.
    Thanks for sharing.

    • @upgradedrc3697
      @upgradedrc3697  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could use locktite if you wanted to or if you have a problem with screws backing out. I haven't had any problems yet. and i"m switching out tires so often it would just hinder me.

    • @RC_Trailblazers
      @RC_Trailblazers 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@upgradedrc3697 I personally wouldn't use loctite on aluminum wheels especially that small of a thread pitch, you may end up damaging your threads on the beadlocks, and that would just be a pain in the rump. I've never had any issues with screws backing out on beadlocks wheels for my crawlers.

    How do you unglue tires from rims

    • @upgradedrc3697
      @upgradedrc3697  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are different ways to do this. The easiest is to heat your oven to 350 degress and put your tires on a cookie sheet for 10 minutes then peel the tires from the rim using a towel because it will be very hot. You could also use a blow dryer or a heat gun to heat up the glue. Be CAREFUL. It's HOT!!!
