I love seeing ex LT buses in their original condition, but what you've done here is a nice business venture creating a nice addition to social events. My favourite is the standard RM, this one was new from 1965 working on country routes in green. Watch your vids regularly, apart from solving issues on the bus looks like fun. Nice video
Yes Pete, it's good to see someone very tall do preservation on a routemaster! I always thought the bus was designed for our littler' friends under 5'8" for instance 😆. One thing about the modern buses is the extra couple of inches in the ceilings is a godsend for me lol But people were shorter of course in the 50's...
Just found your series on the latest bus while searching other stuff. Not only am I hooked on the series but I realise I may have been in your original bar bus at a food show at Hatfield house in June 2017. It also makes me realise how bland my own videos are!!
@@PeteAndHisBus And they are being used. I'm not a purist or rivet counter. A vehicle earning it's keep still lives. A static display in perfect condition (they never were) might as well be a picture. Thanks for your efforts and video's
Can I ask has that bus ever been at any of the uk race tracks? I have seen something similar at moto gp and British superbikes before. Love watching the current bus transformation also.
Being Hackney born and bred I saw the 38 on a daily basis and was a regular bus user. Who’d have thought they would end their days as mobile pubs 🤷🏼♂️
@@davidluck4608 nope! I actually wouldn't want an original aec engine. You can't get all the bits for them any more and because I actually use my bus for business, it's got to be reliable and or repairable. Thanks for watching!
As I understand it, having consulted the bus fraternity and read the DVLA notes on this, it transpires that if the driver is over 30 and the vehicle is too you can drive an ex-service vehicle on a normal car license. There are some provisions. It must be classed as historic, not have more than 8 people on board, not be used for hire and reward, and have all the necessary insurance in place. Ive actually been pulled over by the police before and they’ve ended up asking me about the regulations, it is a rather grey area. Thanks for watching!
I challenge someone to obtain an old London bus & recreate the ‘Summer Holiday ‘ bus from the early 196O’s film .The driver also has to be able to sing 🎼Whe’re all going on a summer holiday 🎼for effect & authenticity 😎
The O.G. ‘Food truck’! Very stylish
Thanks far watching bud! Appreciate it
That’s absolutely gorgeous and still looks very original. Can’t wait to see the progress on the other one!
Thank you so much! The originality is a big deal for me! Why mess with perfection ay!?
Wow.. I have driven this bus(RML 2355) on the Route 38 as a crew driver with a conductor
Best buses ever!
Brilliant! It certainly is the best bus 👍😜
she is one hell of a stunning bus... i can't wait to see the other one get to this level of craftmanship!!!!
Thank you! Neither can I haha, long road ahead..
Well done Pete and congrats.
Thank you!
Good on ya.Well Done.Greetings from Australia
Thanks, glad you like it!
On collecting my daughter from her Saturday job at the cookery school next door I have often seen your buses parked up - great job, very impressive 👍
Cool!! Obviously you will not divulge this info, cos Compo will kill ya!! ;)
@@PeteAndHisBus absolutely
love the start, chock away :)
Gotta be done
Quality Pete, will miss you coming up to the racecourse. Keep up the good work!
Awwhh yeah man, it is a shame! I miss Bath already. Had some really good time down there!

Yes, being 6’6’ means I’m always having to employ short people to run the bar. The sun roof helped though for upstairs.
Yes I forgot to mention about the routemaster sunroof 😁.
Also brilliantly made videos and I enjoy the humour.
Thanks mate, appreciate the support

Nice lil ad that pete...very clean and orofessional
Thanks Gray, glad you like it.
Hi Pete you should make a DVD of this as I would like to have a copy of the process and restorarion work you are doing on your other bus.
I'm glad you like it enough to be able to view it again haha. It is a possibility. We'll see what happens. Thanks for your support.
The years I spent hanging off the back of one of those in Streatham, Then Blackpool. I really miss it
I’m keeping them on the roads for ya bud! Many people loved them like you do, hence it always get a very good reception.

A pint please 😂😂 would love to see this at a event in Scotland.
That’d be bigger to get to at 42.5 mph…. 😂😂

Hi there, nope I’ve yet to get involved in the motor racing scene. I did have a brief spell at Branshatch. Thanks for you support! Appreciate it.

Very cool !
Glad you like it.
I never knew Clapham Pond was near the A21!
hahaha well spotted. Clapton Pond was the last route that bus drove on so I chose to keep the blinds in there.
Clapham is South of the Thames (France) and Clapton is North East London. One has a humungous train junction, the other a pond!
A bus with alcohol? Now that could well reignite my interest in public transport!
😂😂😂
Does your bus have it’s original AEC engine?
Hi David! No, it has a 8.3 c series Cummins. Ideal for actual use 👍
Ahhhhh……it’s not original then😩
