Well that’s it.. I’ve just finished watching ALL 43 episodes of Pete & his bus. It’s taken me about a month and I’ve loved it!! I can’t even drive but I love old buses and your enthusiasm is captivating - I reckon you spend more than you earn doing all this old vehicle stuff - you are definitely living the dream and we are all loving being on the journey with you.. thank you 😊
Wow thanks Brian! I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed my journey thus far. And yes my spending is obvs totally out of control… 😜.. thanks so much for watching mate, more coming soon 👍👍👍
Brilliant video of the London & Brighton run. Back in the 1960s we took an RM from Norwood garage on that run, and we also got there & back. I can’t remember much about it but I think there were other buses as well. Well done Pete & the crew.
Started off not so good, but wow, you guys dont it. When you crossed the finish line i had tears in my eyes. You guys must have felt a 1000 times better than fantastic. Well done!. Great job.
Congratulations to you all, that was a massive achievement. I couldn’t stop smiling. Great job, thank you so much for sharing your incredible experience 👍🦉
Ha! Didn't expect to see Lenco's when I started watching... brilliant bunch, helped me a time or too and used to be my local motor parts store. Well done with the London to Brighton- people think it's just a bit of a laugh until they have a go, actually quite a big deal. I was on the run last year, won't forget the weather in a hurry..
Yayyyy the car made it this time, 120 yrs old and still better than new cars, ok I might be bonko there but feels like it 😂 buses was ace, great idea for companies to take them on for advertising purposes 🙂👍 Cheers Pete, and his bus 🙂
Pete you excelled yourself on this video firstly the promotion buses were great loved the mini moke but the icing on the cake was the trip to Brighton well done the team and also Richard for the mechanics and driving all the way to Brighton wonderful 😊😊😊 see you next time 😊😊😊
Lovely. I used to live in Brighton, the veteran car run went past my flat. I have lent tools and made cups of tea for the drivers and crew. This is one of the best videos so far, thanks Pete and his bus(es) plus a steam car.
@@PeteAndHisBus hey pete when i was younger in Cardiff Western Welsh had buses that looked like routemasters but had a folding door at the front left hand side as you got on the stairs to the upper Saloon was in front of you and the conductor stood by the doorway the interior on the frame walls looked like blue shiney formica I have always loved those buses not sure if they were AEC Renowns or Aec lowdeckers or what the emergency exit door in the downstairs saloon was at the back on the left hand side as you looked up from the front. I would love to own one or be a part owner of one but dont know what they were i have been following your blog since you started but now retired i have some te on my hands and live in Sutton surrey.
What a video Pete! Full of adventures! I was surprised you were able to reach Brighton! Great work in putting that car back to its former glory! Very happy for you! All the best! Nelson
I am amazed by the scale of preparations on those promotion busses. The clients are willing to go throug with. Your London to Brighton run was just epic! Keep these brilliant videos comming!
Well what a brilliant episode Pete! It’s good to see the promotional buses .. with these wraps .. they can retain their original paint scheme underneath .. and hopefully the original interiors are stored safely too (so could be re-installed at a later date). Love the veteran car London to Brighton run .. been a good few years since I went down to Brighton to watch them arrive … massive congratulations to Richard in getting his steamer down there to complete the run! And just by chance I was watching the film Genevieve last night … a lot of that was filmed on the roads in South Buckinghamshire near to Pinewood Studios .. including the ford that they had to push the car out of … have been through that ford in an RF!
Exellent! Genevieve and the Spyker actually features in my vid near the beginning of the clip. The original seats are ready to go in that bus whenever needed and the fit out will literally pull out. The best compromise if you ask me. Thanks for watching!
Just admit it Pete, that first bus was going faster home, cos they gave you a new pair of high heels to drive home in, you just didn’t pan the camera down….lol😂😂
Great video Pete loved seeing all your exploits all over the UK in different busses looked like a great time with the bonus of being paid for it wooohooo. then the London to Brighton congrats to all off you a real sence off achievement despite the stressfull bonfires at the start and it looked like the car romped it up Clayton Hill on the aproach to Brighton.. must have been a great feeling crossing the finish line... I did notice at the beginning some of the wheels wobbling slightly, guess a good service and some maintenance is required over the winter months so in tip top condition for next year.. well done guys and well done on a great video.. Robb Torremolinos Spain 😀
Pete, that was another wonderful moment of entertainment. That steam car seemed to have great acceleration out of Trafalgar Square and elsewhere. And did I see it sitting next to another, almost identical model at one point towards the end of the video. But the main question I ask myself, is did the shoe company provide your wife with a pair of those very sensible looking walking shoes? Tom (from France)
With those shoes being about £1000 per set that was a hard no! 😂👍 our steamer was next to another Stanley steamer. That one belongs to Andy Green, the fastest man in the world. Google him, he’s epic!
Absolutely Awesome Video. As car mad kid ,and growing up near Brighton, going to the veteran car run with my Dad was a massively highlight every year. This has bought back some great memories of nearly 50 years ago. I love all the bus content as well !
Would have been great to see you in Newcastle, shame I didnt know you were coming, as I said would have made the effort with my Ex Tractor Fan joke! Fantastic fun. Ironically I think I'd probably give the steam car a whirl, but oddly nothing would induce me to ride in the Moke instant death-mobile. In my youth I once drove one around a boarding school playing field... never again! Glad you made it to the finish and good luck for next year.
